- A look at the VAG group 1.9TDi engine, and the best mods and tuning upgrades for it.
Engines covered in this tuning guide include....
PRE PD - 1Z, AHU, AGR, AHH, ALE, ALH, AFN, AHF, ASV, AVG
PD engines - BSU, BRU, BXF, BXJ, ANU, ATD, AXR, BEW, BMT, AVB, AVQ, BSW, BJB, BKC, BLS, BSV, BXE, BPZ, AJM, ATJ, AUY, BVK, AWX, ASZ, AVF, BLT, ARL, BTB, BPX, BUK
These were fitted to the A3, Golf, Passat, A4, Polo, A1, Fabia, Leon, Ibiza and other popular models from the VW Audi (VAG) group.
Differentials - increasing the diff on FWD vehicles powered by the 1.9TDi engine allows you to put more power down.
Mapping - remapping offers the largest cost reduction, however aftermarket ECUs and piggyback ECUs are also options.
Turbocharger modifications, particularly forced induction and hybrid turbo upgrades, are the most efficient method to boost air supply, enabling you to burn more gasoline and produce more power. It is one of the most expensive modifications, but it delivers the finest results.
We look at turbo swaps and turbo upgrades on the 1.9TDi and help you decide on a hybrid turbo or turbo upgrade for your project.
For more power improvements, the injectors and fuel pump will need to be upgraded. Upgrades to the intercooler - the factory intercoolers are restrictive while running maps, so switch in an FMIC that flows better and resists heat soak for a longer period of time.

Brits are soooo good in delivering the exact info, they are reserved & stick to the subject... Americans like to show off often forgeting to give out critical info.Hail..👍🖤
Their music and comedy are better too.
Just picked up a passat b5.5 pd130 this video has helped me massively, don't want to run crazy power but enough to catch people off guard as plan on keeping the outside fairly standard!
Bro how you haven’t got a million subs is beyond me…. Great presentation exactly what I was looking for
Thanks for the sub! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the support and encouragement my friend. I'm still quite new to all of this, you never know though we might get out there at some point - tell your mates about us - it all helps.
Will do brother!! …A dream is jest a dream without action!!! Not my words think I seen it in a film in the 90s ..lol 💪👍🏻👏
The main thing that I like about this video is how you actually say the upper limits of stock parts... it's quite easy to get sucked into feeling like you need to change every single part because you've remapped your car... but actually being able to appreciate that unless you're going significantly beyond factory spec, the stock parts will hold out just fine.
i have a bora 1.9 AJM. Has a garrett GT1749V and recently remapped it making 1.3bar boost, putting out about 153hp to the wheels with 418NM tq which starts at about 2000rpm. Always the quickest off the line and highway driving is so much better!
Thanks for the support my friend, good to have you aboard. Nice to see you are enjoying your time with this great engine.
Is that all you've done at that time? What was your stock starting HP? Thanks
I LOVE MY 1.9 TDI
Just love the way You explaining everything ❤
Thank you so much 😀 and hanks for the support and encouragement my friend.
The best video ever! Dont remove it from YT
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing such informative content.
So nice of you and thanks for supporting my little channel.
I’ve said in previous vids I have a 2003 bug with the ATD 100. I can get it remapped by a good friend but I took a look at TDI tuning you mentioned. £199 for my engine 👍🏼 But I was having a poke around yesterday checking my oil etc. I have oil in my egr and intercooler pipes. I’m gutted as I know what I have to buy now before thinking of a remap 🐌 😢
But when I do it I’ll be cleaning the intake and all. Summer job, I hope it lasts, it’s 28 March today.
Great info yet again 👍🏼
Have the ATD in my Mk4 Golf and a crude remap, pulls well but could use a hybrid turbo core
Every 1.9tdi has oil in the egr
Even if you fit a brand new turbo, you can expect to see oil in the intercooler pipes.
Love the video! Just picked up a B5.5 Highline and am in love with it! I am still a bit stuck with where to start with upgrading for performance. I am thinking of a Stage 1 tune, and maybe an intake or an exhaust aswell, but am unsure. Just want it to sound nicer and have a bit more punch. I have watched the video 3 times over and I can’t decide what is best to do first
love this vid! best one out there
Nice video! Thanks pal
Great video!
Super informative, thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the support my friend, good to have you aboard.
I've just brought an Audi A4 b5 1.9tdi 115 and it's brilliant
I have a normal single mass flywheel and clutch on my AHF stage 1 tune and absolutely no vibrational and wonderful light feeling ❤
Great vidéo!! Thanks a lot!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for the support my friend. More stuff coming up on diesels and the 1.9 TDi in particular.
Good day! First of all congratulations and thank you for the video!
I am building a Volkswagen Saveiro, it is similar to a rabbit, with the engine and gearbox in the back, something similar to a pre runner for use in the dunes. I am going to use a 2008 tdi agr engine and a kombi t2 gearbox. I don't want to do something extreme, just something fun and long lasting.
Thanks for the support and encouragement my friend I'm glad you've found it useful.
Great video! In UK (and likely elsewhere) no 1.9 TDI had a DPF. Also a minor point but the engine you show in the background of the list of engines and turbos is a later 2.0 TDI CR DPF one :)
That was originally my understanding but I found there were a few 1.9 TDi engines out there which had a DPF The various parts catalogues confirmed this (see BM11051 for example), and I've even known some people to fit these aftermarket (why on earth would they do that!). The Golf BLS (10/03-11/08) engine met Euro 4 with it's DPF and also the fairly common Volkswagen Transporter AXB AXC BRR BRS engines typically also had DPF's.
Good spot on the engine, my library of footage on the 1.9 TDi is very limited and we only use original footage where we can. I am trying to build our library of footage to further increase our accuracy. I just wish I shot more video when I had cars in.
I have a Seat Ibiza 6j with a 1.9tdi with dpf, motorcode BXJ. I removed it about two years ago when it was tuned. It had 90 HP and 210 nm. It now has 160 hp and 406 nm.
Great video! I'm not currently even thinking about tuning my 255,000 miles driven 1.9TDI, which only had 105HP from the factory (and some of those horses are either dead or escaped by now 🙃). But I subscribed to your channel, as there seems to be a lot of great stuff here. One thing I want to point out is, that you might experience traction issues even with 105HP if you have cheap Chinese tyres...or there is snow or ice on the road, which we very often have in Finland 😉
If it's a Passat I'd get a remap done. The 100bhp ones I've found are just too underpowered for the size of the car. I remapped my dads which has 230k miles and it transformed it. Also it left it easier on fuel too
Great video, exactly what I'm looking for.
i am planning to build my 1.9tdi awx arround 240hp...what would be the best choice for injectors?
thank you in advance.
My Mom owns a VW Caddy III 2K with the 1.9tdi. It makes 105hp from factory and I'm looking forward to driving it once i have my drivers license.
Thanks for the support my friend, good to have you aboard.
Great job delivering such an informative content to all VAG lovers.
If the time allows you I would like to kindly ask for a recomendation: I’ve got my VW Passsat 1.9 TDI, AVB engine and looking to upgrade the original Turbo to a hybrid one who will push the power to 170HP(according to the garage who’ll do the upgrade) + the right Soft in order to perform well.
My question is: does the stock injectors will need to be replace or they do perform well at this kind of power?
Much appreciate in advance your time taken to reply💪🏼.
I would definitely upgrade the injectors on the 101ps, some people get away with stock ones at 170 but they are in my opinion reaching the upper limits and starting to flag.
I very much appreciate your time taken to respond with a much expected professional advice.
Thank you sir !!!
Can you clarify more info in the non PD alh engines please In terms of nozzles turbos intakes intercoolers Cam shafts etc? I have one here I'm hoping to fetch 260hp++
A3 1.9tdi 2008 BXE owner here, would it be too much for BXE engine to go beyond remapping with upgrades, without fixing the conrod bearings and bolts issue?
THANK YOU
Hello im a huge fan i appreciate your work, i have a question. I got a vw jetta mk5 1.9tdi (2009) i dont know the motorcode. I want to install the GT2052V, will it fit perfectly and is there anything i need to do afterwards ?
Hey guys need some help please, I have the 2006 Jetta MK5 1.9 TDI, I think its the BRM engine, I dont see BRM listed in the video?
Thank you for great video. Subscribed.
I have a golf mk4 1.9 AxR, at the moment it has a light remap with electronic egr off and rev limit at 4600rpm. This is with the stock Garret 1749V. I also have the catalyst removed, which is not a problem in my area for now.
I think I want to boost it up a bit more though, maybe 150-170 hp and I am looking into getting the turbo from 131hp which is garret 1749VA. Also maybe a high flow air filter and front intercooler. Do you think that makes sense and should I go also for injectors from 131hp? Also do you think I will need a better differential? Also, should I think about a downpipe change?
Cheers
Those upgrades all sound like a very good idea. I doub't you'll need a diff though, this is required around the 200hp and up levels. Check the head bolts are the stronger ones, @darksidedevelopments offer some decent head bolt upgrades.
Did you get the turbo from 131hp ? My tuner suggests me the same he says with the stock injectors and 131hp turbo i can do around 165hp safe
I have a Passat 1.9 tdi what turbo kit should I use and do a tutorial exist form my car or the same engine
What can we do to tune our 1999 Audi a4 b5 90 hp/66kw AHU with automatic gear ? fantastic car but a bit slow
I've got a asz in a mk1 caddy so much fun now I've got used to the speed and handling understeer . I probably get it mapped then will I get used to that maybe a hybrid turbo I don't like rolling coal clean as possible
Can you recommend a good LSD Diff for PD150 ARL Seat Leon 1M?
I have a 2006 Jetta TDI with a BRM engine. This is a Mexico made car. You don’t mention this engine. Any info on what i can do to improve the Hp and torque on this version?
I have over 215k. My turbo is starting to burn a little oil. So i’m ready to replace it for a new and better unit. I have a VNT type. What should i go for?
Great video lot's of info.. thanks..can i ask you tho how much boost would a 200k mile pd110 take for daily driving ...i just want a little bit of more kick to the car
It depends on how the engine has been looked after. I would probably set a 25% power hike as a reasonable goal for most of these, you'll get more if it is in good condition but I would prefer to play it safe on an older higher mileage engine. I actually discussed the options for older diesels with higher mileages in this video ua-cam.com/video/Ic-eQhUY83o/v-deo.html
I completely deleted all emissions systems from my TDI, I run a 3 inch exhaust, love the turbo whistle sound I get out of it, Its also straight piped, not loud at all. I also am running a stage 3 camshaft and a tune, im not pushing the boost too much though as I still have the stock head bolts and the turbo is a 1756, its a little laggy compared to stock but not to bad.
A ball bearing turbo would help you a lot mate
Can I change just the +120 nozzles? Or do I buy complete injectors? Thank you
Cheers for the vid!
It is a very informative one to start with.
I have an audi a4 b6 1.9pdtdi with BKE engine in it. What upgrades would you recommend for that to reach a sustainable 250hp?
Thanks!
Fuelling, turbo and remap, stronger head bolts and an intercooler upgrade. Bear in mind you'll get major traction issues at 200hp in most cars with the 1.9Tdi fitted (FWD) so for more than this a diff upgrade will help but I'd recommend a slightly lower power is more reachable, usable and much more cost effective.
Thank you!
I do not want to go in to it that hard for the beginning.
So what is the hp what you mean under slightly lower and more reachable?
New subscriber. I was researching for a engine swap for my 1962 International Harvester Scout 80. I definitely am considering a VW TDI engine, backed up with a Chevrolet automatic transmission with a Ford 8.8 rear axle. Yeap it’s a Mutt. I am just learning about the VW TDI. I learned a lot from your video. Great content. Any constructive advice? Yeap, I am in the USA.
hello sir...i have an octavia 2 1,9 tdi BJB 105 cp now upgrated with a gtb 2260v stock injectors 208 cp on dino ,but it spools very late...i need to know if i changethe injectors with v10 tuareg and the core of turbo with gtb 1756 core...it will spool earlier?...the car is 4x4 and i have to change or modify many things to install gtb 1756 turbo, thanks
I have a 2004 BEW 1.9 would love to get more info on this specific engine.
The best delivery and information on tuning this block. How do i contact you directly with some questions i have?
Thanks for the great video! I have a 2002 1.9 TDI Fabia 74kw (101ps) and I was thinking about chiptuning it to 130ps, but a friend told that I could also reolace turbo charger with the one from VRS Fabia and get good results? I can get one for a low price from a friend, (50eur.) What is your opinion on that?
Thanks, and best regards!
Well i have 1.9 tdi 74kw and only with stage 1 i got 118kw but i think thats the limit becouse of weak cluch. So i dont think that buying that turbo is necessery
1.9 BEW TDI swapped 92 4 runner with stage 2 colt cam, pd150 intake and gtd1756vrk, BHW injectors
What’s the best thing to do to my tdi to
gain more power? It’s a 2007
I had my knn panel filter changed yesterday when I had a new turbo fitted. I will use a paper filter forever on. The state of the wheel was shocking
Yes the aftermarket air filers do tend to get over oiled, a very very light misting is all that is needed. I should probably do a video on this topic warning people of these problems and issues. To be honest I never oil mine when I use them at service time, just a good rinse under the tap which I do before I fit a new one anyway.
Hey, I own mk5 1.9tdi 90 remapped to around 136hp and I wonder how much hp/nm can the original clutch hold , cause i think to do a turbo upgrade from the original KKK to 1749v. Any suggestions?
Stock clutches will vary depending on their age and condition. A stock clutch should be good for around 225hp on most of these, but I have known them to start slipping and also I've known some to be able to handle much more power. For most projects I would do the map & upgrades and if the clutch is slipping then get it sorted. If it holds you are quids in. Even if the clutch is slipping a little you can drive it gently until you get it replaced.
Any suggestions on what turbo and injectors to put into a mk5 bkc golf. Make it 170-180 hp.

Got a Coilover slammed Passat estate B5.5 with a remapped pd130 rolling on 18's.
0 to 100 is good, but, 100 - 140mph is literally instant.
Used it as a daily driver in Norfolk and playing with traffic on A11, very good on fuel.
Engine starts instantly and sounds like clockwork.
Gave it to my Dad who used it to pull trailer, also reported good on fuel but he gave it back because Mum was scared of it, (parents both in their 70's).
Thank you for all information.
I have a passat b5.5 1.9tdi 96kw avf, stock, automatic gearbox and I want to tune it up just a little bit to get arround 180-200hp. Whats your suggestions?
Any tips for a 1.9 TDI BLS golf 5 from 2007?
Have a PD130 Engine in my polo 1.9tdi runs great. Im thinking of doing my intercooler first as the stock one is small and want to make sure i dont have boost leaks. Want to do this before mapping. Any advice on intercooler upgrades? Not looking for massive gains just better efficiency with added power as advantage not goal.
Quite a few guys are using the intercooler from the 2.0TDi 170's as drop in replacements. @DarksideDevelopments also have some nice intercooler upgrade options that will help.
@@torquecars thanks
Any recommendations for a DIY flash tune?
Hi can you tell me how the golf 5 1.9tdi dsg 2005 model engine
Hello guys, i have audi a4 2000 with 1.9 tdi ajm 115 hp engine, i have upgraded turbo to gt1749va and egr off kit with bigger intake manifold, what should i do next my goal is around 200bhp, i think upgrading injectors from arl engine and biger intercooler, the ehxaust is straight pipe
Hi Diesel heads! I was going to change my Toyota Avensis 2.0d4d 2010 125cv for something fast but this car is so well built and reliable ...heard on a forum that I could easily remap it to 160cv and changing the turbo and injectors from a 2.2 decat, air intake etc be reaching 200cv... Apparently the gearbox, driveshafts, suspension brakes and clutch are up to it?!
does someone knows what are internal limits for pd100 avb engine? ppl saying it's about 200-220hp and what are solutions for stronger rods, pistons etc.?
Great information my friend appreciate it, awesome.
I got a 2002 VW Golf MK4 1.9TDI Se, complete with Engine code; ATD. Certainly I would love to add more horse power to this engine.
Please can you advise me on available modifications.
Thanks a lot M8.
Bless up.
Ah HAAA an ATD brother 👍🏼
I live in India and drive a skoda Octavia 2 with the 74KW (PD105) 1.9tdi from 2007 with deleted AGR and no catalytic converter because it is here not required for vehicles before 2010. What do you think about this piggyback’s instead of a remapping? I don’t have a chip tuner in my aria and I don’t know how to write a code with VAG suite. Because of our hot and humid weather in south India my friend got me an much bigger intercooler, which I mounted in the middle between the fogglights into my modified RS bumper. He brought me as well a combination of alloy pipes and silicon pipes to exchange the original boost and intake side. Now I have the same power all day. Before the car was in the night and early morning much faster than in the hot times of the day.
Can u recommend any tuning box to make around 120ps and 30(+)nm ? Great videos and always very interesting and informative ! Namaste 🙏
I used one from TDi tuning which worked well for me, but I've not tried out any others. Another option is to get the VAG cable and software and download your map and send it to a tuner for modification and flash it back on your engine. There are a few people in the UK offering remaps by email in this way blacksmoke was one of them a friend of mine recommended, but I don't think they are still trading, and some companies offer custom maps in the tuning box they post out (jfa automotive etc...).
Great video ! I own a Vw T5 multivan with 1.9 tdi 105 hp AXB engine version. What turbo would you recommend for daily driving.
TDI BV39 is the stock spec replacement and I would recommend the GTB1756VK (spools up peak around 2650rpm) or GT5052 (spools up peak around 2000rpm) both of these give fairly good low end response and work well in FWD setups.
. injectors on the PD105 will need uprating at 170bhp.-- Read more at: www.torquecars.com/volkswagen/1-9-tdi-tuning.php
@@torquecars Thank you !
Any way to slove the turbo flex pipe small pipe. I keep welding it and after couple month's it breaks again and i have to weld it again BXE engine
Is this a TIG weld, MIG welds are prone to fail more frequently on hot exhausts and are not as clean internally as a TIG would be.
Does your flex pipe have a lined interlock? Is the weld splitting on the edge or cracking on the weld itself?
Very good Video 👍🏻
Ist the Bsu 75hp The same as a 105pd ?
Hi there, these get confusing don't they. The pd number is based on PS so multiply hp by 1.014 to get the PS equivalent. Sorry I didn't include this on the remap chart, and this engine slipped off my radar. If you remap this one you should see around 130 to 135hp and around 275 nm of torque. Quite a nice power hike!
Don't delete EGR, just get used to love the gunk which blocks your airflow and once it flies away it hits the pistons, the exhaust valves, the turbo fans and starts to live a life in the CC. :)
I have egr clean for more than 10 years. And no gunk
@@Helder_Paulo Is ok if i remove the egr from my mk4 tdi asz.
This is bad or good.
You'll get a million answers and opinions to this. But I did do a video which goes into the pros and cons of EGR delete and hopefully gives you a rounded out answer to this question. ua-cam.com/video/yevPs6NNq8k/v-deo.html
The egr is a lot more bad than good. It blows dirty air into your engine and blocks up, to name a few
What do you do when your dual mass flywheel rattles at idle, should you just replace it with a new dual mass flywheel when you do The Clutch
Yes I would. There are a few options around but I strongly recommend you stick with a dual mass option, even if you decide to go lighter. If you are planning a power upgrade, think about getting a beefier clutch to cope with it.
the stock BLS PD105 engine has weak connecting rods. Known issue now. I swapped it out with a ASZ PD130 when one of my rods failed. The PD 130 rods have larger crank journals, larger rods and can handle a lot of extra abuse.
is it possible to change connecting rods? or will an engine swap be the only option
@@adr3510 it is possible like with any other engine... But it's a lot of work
Im considering buying a Seat Leon 1,9 tid but how do i know What engine size it is
What about intercooker upgrade with the clips 0n my bettle tdi the pipes blow off what would you recommend
There are much better clamps around than those OEM ones, also a decent set of silicone hoses will have ridges to firmly attach the clips to. If you can get a hard pipe kit it is worth the investment in my opinion as these are less likely to pop off, split or leak.
Hello, 1.9tdi bkc 105hp with a stage 1, 140hp.
Runs really good with a dead MAF sensor. Looking to replace the sesor with a peirburg MAF sensor.
With the stage one can i get a better/more suitable sensor than the quoted one fir the 105hp version?
I was thinking a different MAF sensor suitable for a 140hp engine may help performance.
Any ideas?
Thanks😊
Do you need a new maf or any adjusting when fitting custom intake system? There's kits which have holes for the maf sensor.
How do I remap my 11mm mechanical injection pump?
Hi. Thank you for explaining. I got a MK5 Golf 1.9TDI PD105. It’s currently remapped to 145hp - 150hp but I’m looking to get more out of it; I’m looking to get around 180hp - 200hp. What do I need to do to get those figures? Hopefully you do reply to me. Thank you :)
Remap, hybrid turbo, injector upgrade, new head bolts should see you there. The 150hp is quite easy on these the cost really starts jumping up for more power. How are you finding the traction at the moment?
@@torquecars First gear, if I floor it, I lose traction control almost all the time. 2nd gear not so much, but any gear after that, traction is fine. What can I also do to gain a lot of traction?
@@Thorn0fr0sa.Official nice tires and firmer suspension will help for launches
Great job. Awesome video. I just bought a second hand Seat Leon 1p1 - 1.9TDI 105Hp form 2010... never wanted to do any upgrades or anything but gosh they are so fun and raw to drive that I now found myself looking at videos on how to get some litle extra horse power. I'm wondering on going with a quick tunning remap and see if I can add those 35hp so I can sit on the 140HP for the moment. Did a full service on it : changed all fluids and filters.. but stll not sure whether I should be checking an specifc parts or replacing anything in prep for this quick tunning or if stock parts can handle the job prety well. Any advice? Its a BLS version engine and has 160,000km.
You should be fine with a modest remap. The clutch is the likely weakspot but at that mileage it is quite likely it has been recently replaced anyway. It is worth doing a check for fault codes and seeing if there are any boost leaks. Some do a compression test as well.
I'll do a video on "things to do before you tune a car", and pass on some more tips in that because I think this is a great question that many people will need to know.
@@torquecars great stuff thanks a lot .. waiting on that video to take notes
I got a leon 1.9tdi bls too and i got it stage 2 now with downpipe, ramair. And now its a beast ❤️
@@pimnieuwenburg4712 did you upgraded the turbo?
Lower end bearings. Pd105 engines love throwing rods so do that before anything honestly. Massive weak spot but if fixed, will last forever. Also, better headbolts too
Vw T4 swb 1.9td fancy putting a tdi in 170 version if possible then remap for towing & fuel economy.
Pretty optimistic power figures quoted here, 300 on a 2056?
I have a Golf 3 with a 1Z (90ps), what would i have to do to get round about 200-250ps (can be more). Id like it not to smoke too much and drive smoothly tho. Thank you!
Larger turbo, bigger injectors, engine remap, stronger clutch to deal with the increased power, front mounted intercooler with hard pipes, head bolts from ARL engine.
If you watch the video again, this what it tells you.
Good video! Subscribed! I own a 1997 Jeep Wrangler that has a 1.9 TDI out of a 2005 VW Bora in it. Stage 1 tune, EGR delete (legal where I live), A2W FMIC. The original KKK turbo just went out in it and I'm looking for a drop in replacement and possibly, a little upgrade. As most of the driving I do is "crawling", at lower speeds, I'm much more interested in torque than horsepower and the lower in the RPM band the better. The GT1749VB has been recommended, as well as the GT1749V (I'm not really sure about the difference?!?) and a certain TDI shop in the UK has recommended a different VNT-17 hybrid or, alternatively, the GT1752v. I have very low gears so again, high HP isn't what I need, although something over the original 100HP might be nice. Recommendations? Thanks in advance!
The VB compresses slightly more air than the V version but the difference is so small you can regard them as the same thing. It's something like 4ccm extra. I would recommend the smaller compressor wheels for low end torque and faster spool up (generally speaking) so the 1749 over a 1752 for example. Mapping makes more of a difference to the torque than the turbo really and most mappers will put that power where you need it most. The Hybrid VNT17 is a very good unit indeed, but you need to look at the RPM range for the boost and compare these, you want the boost to start quite early on.
GT1749V is the stock turbo on the PD115 and pd100. GT1749VB is stock on the pd150.
VB runs at slightly higher pressures, but honestly they're the same.
the GT1749V is easier to find than the VB kind so best to look for an used GT1749V. Look for AJM/AUY engines, they are the most popular in my experience.
gt1749V has a LOT of torque down low(my bora 1.9 AJM also has GT1749V and makes 1.3bar at 2800rpm spitting 153HP, but down at 2000rpm it's already pushing 418NM thru the wheels.)
It makes no sense to put other than pd150 turbo on it. Or u can use hybrid from V6 audi, 2.7 should be better for u than 3.0 cause 2.7 can spool faster.
Having just bought a 1.9tdi 2006 Skoda Octavia. Would people say it's definitely worth a re map? That's all I want to do to it as I'm not after big figures and already happy just want a noticeable increase.
Any advice would be great
Definitely worth it. More power more fuel economy. It pays for itself over about a year depending on how much you drive. Will make you fall in love with the car all over again
I got a BEW I would like to get a good bolt on turbo upgrade
Hi. I have a Leon 1.9 tdi BLS motor with pumpe dyse. What should i focus om upgrading?
I Dont want it to be a killer machine i just want it to feel the power. I Will make a stage 2 Remap. So i Will go from 105hp to 165hp. What do you recoment me to change?🤗🤗

Avx. Avf 1.9 tdi 130hp 96kw is the same 1.9tdi PD ?
Hi!
Is it possible to put gt1756v hybrid on a 1.9tdi ALH ?!
thankss.
I bought A4 B5 2000 and the last owner said they changed dual mass flywheel to single is that good? Or I need to change that back to dual mass?
If you notice a lot of vibration from the engine through to the transmission I would get something done to remedy this if it annoys you as a driver. It is one of those things that are more annoying than harmful, although it will increase some wear and tear on the gearbox potentially I feel this is a fairly small risk. Also if the flywheel is lighter it might rev more freely and this is a tradeoff you might be prepared to make.
If you were deciding on a replacement I'd go with DMF every time, but if it a case of replacing something for the sake of it I don't think it is worth the expense or inconvenience.
I think on euro 3 pd 1.9tdis like the 130hp one on the audi a6 the dpf isnt mandatory
How do I know which engine my car has, it’s a 2006 golf 1.9tdi, and the 4-9 vin digits are zzz1kz. Can’t find any info online corresponding to these numbers. Anyone know?
There are a few ways, find your maintenance or service booklet on the front page - it may also be showing on the registration document as an engine code - the 3 or 4 letters are usually the engine code. Also the engine will have a code stamped in it it is found on the driver's side front on the engine block. You may also find the engine code on a stamp on the cylinder head.
It’ll be on your log book the code, mine is after the cc engine size.
Or on your timing belt cover.
Hello
I had a ALH 90ps with 0.216 nozzles and remap

Now i change turbocharger and i take one from AJM
Now it has only 110hp and 230 nm
have you made a video for the 2.0l TDi ?
I am working on one for the GEN3 version, but you have a couple on this engine to watch so far.

I hope you find them useful.
Audi A4 avant b5 form 1993, with AFN engine, 5 speed manual and completely replaceable for quatro, and second Audi A4 b5 avant quattro with AFN engine from 1994 and in the plan is Audi 100 c3 from 1986 with 2,3T engine - best manual and front drive :)
:)
Any recommendations for the 2.0 BHW?
You should find this video helpful ua-cam.com/video/4D9bfhngKGc/v-deo.html&lc=UgwbnUo5EXZiS5wgj9B4AaABAg
so is it safe to remap an ATD engine if its stock? in theory, I would get +40hp +80nm, but im afraid its gonna kill my engine, turbo etc
Of the 4 people I know with this engine none have had any problems other than one had a slipping clutch but this had done over 110,000 miles so was due to be replaced.
Service it more frequently aa a precaution and choose a map from a specialist that understands these engines and I feel sure you'll be happy with the end results.
Here are some things to check to avoid potential problems.

What about the brm?
If you can get one use a Mangold Euro 4 metal Cat, they are a particle burning metal Cat that flow better than the stock ceramic Cat while reducing the amount of soot
Hello! how can I know which motor configuration do I have and the horsepower? the vin its TMBCG41U822618398
You really need the engine code for this, the vin no tells us it is a Skoda Octavia. Your registration documents should show an engine code, or inspect the engine itself to find the code stamped on it. There are 3 or 4 letters which will tell you the power output and version of the engine.
I know you guys are on other engines, do the same principles apply I want to tune my 1.6 Tdci focus 😵💫😢 but can not find anything which is strange for fords 😢
I have the pd130 96 kw asz and adding sport intake adds 10 kw more tried and tested also
What do you mean sport intake? Which engine code intake is plug & play and has better flow?
My ASZ has no top end, I get a squirt of power then it falls on it's face :(.
please do a vid on pre PD 1.9tdi you mentioned them and id like to know more many thanks this vids awesome
EDIT fuck emissions
I will add that if that is something people are interested in, I have done a video for older diesel engines based on an earlier Rover unit which should give you some pointers ua-cam.com/video/BNz7ZAOWXIs/v-deo.html
could i email you? i’m trying to build a 1.9 bora to make the most hp possible and you have more intelligence then me. maybe just a parts list and pointed the right direction for a tune thank you!
Hi, I have a 2004 MK4 golf 1.9TDI PD150. Standard at the moment but wanted to get abit more punch out of it. It had an EGR delete, (before I got the car) but nothing else.
I'm looking at a remap, but as a daily driver, I'm not sure I need/want to do anymore than this, what are your thoughts on the OEM setup? What else could I do to get the most out of it before breaking the car and bank! Thanks in advance.
The PD150 is a very good base to have, I think you'll be happy with just a remap on that. Turbo injectors and clutch are all pretty solid. Avoid too much low end power though, you want to peak around 2200-2400 rpm IMHO on those engines. Clutches may struggle but this is a service thing and if it struggles with a remap it was probably on it's last legs anyway. The other mod I would recommend is the suspension, this is not great on a stock Mk4, and there are some superb options around out there. Bear in mind the diesel is heavier than a lot of petrol versions so choose a good quality coilover kit.
@@torquecars thanks for the information. It make sense. Regarding the suspension, it has been something I considered and I was also considering changing to polybushes aswell. Is it worth the extra cost to change those?
Poly bushings can be quite hard and for most street cars you are usually better off with a set of new rubber ones. There are a few rubber bushing upgrades around if you look carefully, the rubber grade is slightly firmer than OEM but not as harsh as some of the polybushes.
Wow 1 year on my cars still got no power, but the intercooler end caps are leaking and it now eats LCA's and steering racks every few months LOL.
