Well the song originally wasnt made by imagine dragons they just paid to get the song and it the song was originally ment to be a rock song bfmv just covered it and sung it correctly
I believe you. Because I look at metal bands that have done covers of pop songs that make the original version over the top special and so much better than the original as well.
Like for example Children Of Bodom did a Britney Spears cover of Oops I Did It Again by her originally covered by Children Of Bodom. Such an awesome cover and that is how I really got into Children Of Bodom and their melodic death metal music in general as well.

A cover from a 2000s metal band that isn't just the "Here's the literal most basic parts needed to be recognizable crammed into our style" thing that Punk goes Pop is, Bullet respects the song and makes it recognizable while letting you know it's played in a metal style. Reminds me of Cher's ABBA cover album in that way, the song is 110% recognizable but the artist put a little twist on it to remind you that it isn't the original
Like, it actually sounds like the original song during the first verse, but you can also tell it’s not because of the heavier drums and a different singer. The metal elements in the chorus also help it stand out
They should sign to Fearless Records for that.

For those of you who say autotune, its not autotune. They just had to add a tremor effect to make it sound echo-y and shaky which IMO is a cool effect
I think there is actual autotune, Matt's vocal isn't high like the old days, I doubt he must had technical help to reach notes in the chorus with no voice crack at all

You definetly can tell that Matt is using Autotune. He pretty much used it since Scream Aim Fire or even the poison and his vocals do not Sound like falsetto.
It's auto tuned. You can hear plain as day. Plus, matt couldn't hit those highs if he tried now days. The very last verse is complete autotune
