I know several fans asked Jim Harris how could he do a savage type of character as an African American he said he was just trying to put food on his table & money in his wallet.
Big Jim could have gotten much farther had he kept the Mississippi Mauler gimmick. He could have talked a lot of smack. I believe it would have been better for him and his career.

I am from Memphis and was always told and read that the clips of Kamala were from Jerry Jarrett's back yard, not Lawler's.

no the reason he became Kamala is no-one cared about Mauler. Nothing unique about "big jim"... Kamala turned heads.
