That of course is subjective but I think the f150 limited is better looking as a whole than the Ram limited are some pieces of the Ram interior I like better? Marginally, yes but on the whole I like look and feel of the Ford limited better. The comparison should have been limited vs. limited

The ford rusts more and the windshield falls out in the ford.
I chose a 2021 ram Longhorn over a f150 King ranch as the ram was put together better and the ford was too plastic and as for comfort the ford doesn't come even close to the ram .

Ram has a kick step option for easier bed access when paired with the multifunction tailgate. Also, the backup camera view can be enlarged to fill the entire 12" screen. Plus the rear view mirror in the Ram has an elevated camera option to see over a loaded bed. Your scoring system missed those these aspects. Maybe it is because the Ford looks to be your daily driver & you're more familiar with it?

Yes sir, props to ram for doing that although i think it had a little bit to do with the popularity of gm 2015-17 high country and denali that prompted ram to do that. But props because the luxury in gm and ford was and still is lacking especially ford with all the trims it has you would have to get either the king ranch or the limited for better quality leather.

    • @turp63

@@misael008 Gotta disagree. Ford is the best selling truck for a reason. King Ranch started the luxury truck wars back in the mid 2000s.. Ram wouldn't have a longhorn edition or the Tundra with the 1800 something trim level. Then Ford upped it with the platinum and then the Limited. Bottomline though, the big three all make pretty good trucks and it's boils down to personal preference

There are many different ways you can categorize “drive experience”. Do you mean smoothness by drive experience? Because Ford usually pushes their engines for more torque or whp than other known truck makers. But yes, I have heard that the RAMs have better suspensions on them thanks to the air bladders they put on all 4 points. It also helps to stabilize whatever you’re towing if you’ve got a load.

I was in the market for a truck. I don’t do a ton of towing and nothing close to 10,000 lbs for sure. I did however want the truck for common home owners tasks, as well as picking up furniture and other stuff. Most of all I was looking for something a little more luxury. I have to say the Ram has a far superior ride. The air suspension is truly out of control. And I know it may sound silly but I’m getting a large truck. I want the sound of the V8 and the Ram sounds FANTASTIC. It’s not a sports car acceleration etc I think really isn’t a factor. I love the interior of my 2021 Ram Limited and wouldn’t ever look back. Ford is luxurious too but not as much. They still have silver-painted plastics and not as much leather and wood. Work duties can be performed with ease in the Ford which pretty much gives it the crown for your one-thing-does-it-all tool. Whichever way one decides to go, both are excellent choices!

The Ram doesn't have any of the things I just mentioned. The Ram does have a reclining back seat but the Ford answers that with lay flat front seats. I'm not going to try to point out each little things between them like the ram being the only truck with ventilated rear seats and the ford front seats laying flat but there is a reason the Ram won "Luxury CAR of the year." Just like there is a reason ford has stuck with the EB motors and the first guy said it's more for people who work with their trucks... I personally don't use my truck as a truck 95% of the time so the better ride means more to me. I also personally prefer analog gauges for tachometer and speedometer. The car like ride quality and maneuverability is unmatched in the Ram. I wonder about cost to replace the air suspension components. This is an expensive proposition in Euro brands like Benz and Land Rover. The Ram interior is fantastic also. However, the flexibility of the Ford to do truck things is several steps above. I like the new features, some of which you did not mention, but still resulted in the F150 outpointing the Ram. This is more about taste. I like the Ram on looks and the Ford on function.

I traded my Toyota Tacoma 2018 for my limited. I loved my taco as for me is the best looking truck exterior wise. Interior was ok too and the feeling was amazing driving anywhere. Reason that I went with the ram limited was for the luxury and space that it has when I wanna go on longer trips with my family. It’s amazing all the uninformed comments that are out there. First, the comparison should have been with an f150 limited, the interior is nicer. (The platinum is nice but the limited is better) second, I have 3300 miles on my limited f150 hybrid so when I speak of the F150 I know from experience. 24mpg combined. Ram ? Nope. Not close. Hp and torque, Ram not close. Load carrying capacity Ford is almost double. Interior? Subjective. Personally I love the F150 interior but the Ram is very nice as well. Suspension? Rams air suspension gives a small advantage on ride but a very small one (I have driven both) the Ford is very comfortable as well, and the seats them selves are much more comfy in the Ford. Plus every vehicle that has had air ride has had very expensive repairs and failed, why? Simple, heat and sun and road salt are not kind to rubber hoses and air bladders under the vehicle. Other than air ride, what features does Ram have that Ford doesent ? I can’t think of any. Features that Ford has that Ram doesent. Many. Massaging seats, better suite of safety features with lane keeping, blind spot warning, even when pulling a trailer giving you warning when someone is next to that. Adaptive cruise, even an update later this year for autonomous driving which is amazing on long highway runs. Fold flat center console giving you a desk to work with, lay flat seats making rest stop breaks more comfortable, lockable storage under rear seat (offsetting Ram box) but it folds flat for flat floor storage in back as well. Over the air updates, l a 7.2kw built in generator. That’s a game changer. Power goes out, plug into your electric box and run your house! Step built in the tailgate much better for an old fart like me than rams split gate. Better/stronger frame. Historically better reliability than Dodge/Ram (if you don’t agree with this your lying to yourself) Honestly I can’t think of one reason to pick the Ram other than subjective “I just like it better” or “ I am a Ram guy” and those may both be valid reasons for you. I am not Saying the Ram is garbage or doesent look good, it does look good but IMHO Ram has to show a better history of reliability long term (at least 5 years of reliability) for me to seriously consider it. That along with the fact that everyone including Ford has had trouble with long term reliability of air suspensions (and when they go, I hope you have deep pockets!)

My personal choice is the Ram. Ford has had ongoing issues for several years now by rushing new technology to the market and letting owners be quality control. Ram has its issues as well, but they are playing the long game by using reliable existing components at its core.

My Dad has a 2018 Ram Limited and has locked his keys in the truck several times. Never an issue for Ford. In fact, I have had 3 Fords over the last 10 years and never took the key out of the ignition. Now I have push button start so cant do that anymore. Cant say enough good about that keyless entry. I think on the exterior views, or at the end when you talked about the Rams air ride features being able to lower the vehicle for easier entrance, that is one of the most important features of the trucks. Fords auto extending step, is the lowest option of all the trucks made. You didn’t even mention this, and it’s probably one of the most important features of any luxury truck line. Take a look at who is driving these trucks, it’s not 35 year old guys it’s old guys! So ride quality is up there in importance, as is cabin quietness. Also what sabot the “hard button features”? The ability to operate things away from the touch screen is important. Things like turning on the seats, cool/heat, or independent radio controls, etc. What about the cameras that let you watch your load in the bed? I’m sure they both have those, and finally do the decibel check at 75 mph, on the highway, the people that buy the trucks use them a lot for traveling at highway speeds. Also decibel check when pulling a 5000 lb camper. When the motors/transmissions are working is when you really get an understanding for how they are built. And let’s use the new trailer hookup features /cameras and give a demo.
Over all I love this video and the Ram manufacturers should know that I wouldn’t have considered driving on before I watched your video, so good job. I want to experience the ride quality you described! I will be purchasing one of these or the Denali Ultimate very soon, so I’m watching all these before I actually drive the. Well done!

    • @JLawL
      @JLawL 3 роки тому +2

The 2022 GMC Denali has far better self driving than the F-150, it can also do it whilst towing 9,000 lbs, Ford's doesn't work while towing anything. The Denali lasts an average of 73,000 miles longer than Ford F-150 Platinum according to AAA, and Dodge isn't even close to that number. Not sure what you're talking about, but you must not have been in a Denali lately. The leather is far thicker, and much higher quality, than anything Ford is using today. Don't believe me? Go look up the cost of an Uber getting a ride in a Denali vs literally any other vehicle. They class it as luxury for a reason.
The "next gen" redesign Ford did in 2021 was rushed, just so they could push it out before GMC's in 2022. As a result, Ford had to use parts that was binned from a year before, which is why you're probably seeing all the reviews about their new $75000 trucks RUSTING as low as 3,000 miles.
Ford can't even claim credit for the self driving aspect, as GMC has been doing it in their Cadillac class vehicles for 3 years, which is why they have over 100,000 miles more roads mapped than Ford, and use a system similar to Tesla, using LiDar to determine their positions in the roads, unlike Ford's more basic camera system, which is far more prone to failure.
      TL:DR- you know nothing.
/A guy with an $82,000 F-150 Limited that is rusting with 4217 miles on it who will be buying the new GMC when it's released in September of 2022.

Well, let's think about this. The Denali interior isn't as fancy "looking." (Yes looking) The GM twins interior works just fine, is comfortable, and is very easy to use and functional. No you can't currently get it with a 12"+ display, and some of the dash pieces have nicer soft touch materials and nicer dials and buttons in the other brands. It's just a little more elegant in the Ram and F-series, but it's not like the high-end Silverado and Sierras aren't nice places to spend time. No, the fake metal analog knobs aren't as nice, and they didn't put leather on one or two dash and/or door panels that the Ram and F150 got, and of course you have too suffer thru using an 8" display in a high-end GM trucks, but who really cares? First, I wouldn't get any of these models. I would option out a XLT, Big Horn, RST and AT4. They will give you all the tech and comfort that you need, and be much less compromised as a truck, all while being obtainable for $15K-$20K less. If I needed this kind of luxury and hauling/towing wasn't a priority then I would just go with Yukon Denali, but that's just me, and other peoples opinions will differ.
Here's where the Denali wins IMHO, and that is on everything other than the interior. I just went on GMC's website and built a Denali trying to option it into these trucks price range which was adding about everything to it and that gave it a lot nicer everything else. A 6.2L GEN5 LT based engine is a much better engine than what these trucks offer and a cheaper 3L Duramax is also more desirable than what comes in these two truck. Next GMC's Adaptive Ride Suspension is excellent, the CarbonPro bed is the best in the business as is GM's MultiPro tailgate with the builtin Kicker Audio system. BTW to get the Denali in these trucks price range I had to add the optional 16" rotors /6 piston Brembos to the Denali. How badass is that for an option? You can get these brakes that look like they came off a new GT500 on a Silverado/Sierra, but it's like a $3K option that very few people check the box on.
On top of it all GM uses the best damn shifter unless you go for a more basic F150. I do my part to help save the manuals, but dammit, we need to save the column mounted shifters. They are the best shifter for an automatic transmission. I don't know why everyone is so racist against column shifters.
BTW I don't own a Sierra or Silverado and own a F150. I do own a 19 SS 1LE, and have owned other Chevys, so I have a certain bias towards the brand, but I currently own 4 Fords so I'm not just hating on Ram and F150. I've had my F150 for 11 years with well over 200K, and it's been the best vehicle I've ever owned. Ram and F150 are both very nice and I've drive all the modern trucks (not driven a 21 F150 yet) and they all have certain things I think are nicer than their competitors, but I find them all competitive with one another.
For me personally I would go with the Denali because I don't prioritize competing with the interiors of a Bentley or Bugatti, but only having a interior that could pass as acceptable in a BMW is fine with me. But what I like better about the Denali is the 6.2L/10L80 combo, to play in this price range I can get huge 6 piston, fixed caliper Brembo brakes, CarbonPro/MultiPro bed and tailgate setup is both more usable and cooler with the Kicker system built in it, I think GM usually does suspension and Chassis setups the best from a performance standpoint, and I like the wheel setup on the Denali the best. Those Platinum wheels look like 18's on that truck. What a crappy wheel design for such an expensive and highend truck. The Rams wheels just don't fit the Rams style either, but at least they look like a high-end wheel. Still all of them are nice machines and people should be happy to own any of them.

There are class action lawsuits being launched for the Ram air suspension which starts crapping out after 2years in the winter. Not sure I'd give it a point for that?

Just saying, you’re not going to hear that electro music in one of these trucks. Eagle live from the coliseum is badass

I just ordered the new king ranch with the powerboost. Cant wait to get it. Both trucks are really nice. But the F150 just looks meaner. I love the built in tool holders on the ram. It would be awesome if Ford had that. But you can’t have everything. The generator is definitely going to come in handy for me. The exterior of that ram looks cheaper to me. Plus the whole reason of having a truck is the tailgate. At least for me. Concerts and sporting events nothing is better. If you’re hauling plywood or something , it lays flat and is easy to drive with. I’d imagine the swinging doors to be a big problem and not very practical.

It folds down like a regular tailgate as well, and they didn’t do a good job showing it.

IMO I’m taking the Ram. Better looks hands down, and smoother ride is a huge plus. The Ford looks outdated, and the Ram has better lines. Just my opinion.

@@S2KCYA Honestly all Modern Trunks are a piles of shit. The F150 is already having electronic issues. The EcoBoost are always 50/50 gamble the 5.0L was amazing back in 2016 but now is a ticking time bomb, the 10spd in Ford is worst then the GM 10spd and the Interior is chintzy. GM has transmission issues and the frames rust pretty quicking. Ram has electric issues and also rust so quickly frankly, Tundra god forbid you wake up the Toyota Fanboys and let them know that Toyota's reliability is in question when it has simple mechanical and electronical issues but oh no Toyota can't have issues they're reliability score is amazing, and Nissan well you better burn that truck to the pavement before you even buy it.

    • @foxwithshades7080

@Jose Carranza Polio in performance they are underrated but in reliability they are way over rated. The Tundra that gave Toyota it's reliability rating was the 2000-2006 Tundra with the 4.7L V8. Toyota from 2007-2013 have serious under pinning, frame and mechanical problems and the 2014- present Toyota have Electric and Mechanical problems that occur. The T100 Toyota truck and the 1st gen Tundra are the only modes I would buy.

The 2013 GMC Sierra was the last of the perfect looking exteriors. The GMC Sierra has been getting progressively worse since 2014. I get that they are trying to make the truck more functional but the bumper cut outs for the steps looks really bad. The wheel wells on the current Sierra are just horrible and the line in the multipro tailgate makes it look like it's wearing a baby bib. Ram had the best looking truck 2014-2017 and Ford was the best looking 2018-2020.

I am glad that Ford stepped up their game. But in my opinion I would rather have a vehicle that will last longer than one that has an over the top interior. I have had multiple F150s and they have all gone 200,000+ Miles with close to no problems. My current F150 is at 170,000 with the only problem being I had to get a new battery.

Other than switching to electric power steering and picking up 5hp and 3lb ft the HEMI has basically remained unchanged for 13 years. I wish they would give it an upgrade already
