Enjoyed your bicycle tour through ❤⛩⛰🎏🚴🚴♀Japan. I'm playing catch up with your various episodes and am skipping around. Looking forward to watching more adventures! Jenny USA
The tunnels are mandatory, although you could take a paved road through the same area but it would be quite a different experience, there isn't a road that runs parallel to the off-road route that we know of.
ah! If I had known about your journey earlier, I would have wanted to invite you to dinner! Thank you for sharing the wonderful scenery that even I, a Japanese person, have never seen before. Your videos are very soothing to me. I wish you a safe trip, from Osaka.💙
Please note, the more lovely videos like this you show, the better chance I have of making my wife do a bike tour ! So far I think I can make her do a Singapore trip to kick off, but of course I need to do more and more !
Whoopiiiiiii, first to comment ;-) What a scenic ride. Maybe I'll fly out there when I finish building up my Surly Preamble road bike--it'll be a lot lighter than my current hybrid. And BTW, your world tour map on your home web page, . . . that is something to remember and look back on.
Is there any chance that you publish your Gpx Tracks of Laos and Vietnam on your Website any time soon? I would like to do the same Route soon. Thank you so much!
When you guys reached the Japanese town of Yuasa, Andrew went “We are now in Yuasa, a town famous for…” and I said to myself “Motorcycle batteries!” but Andrew continued “…soy sauce”.
Thanks for this nice video. Always great to see the road less travel that you are taking. One question for Jenny, what is the brand of your new rain coat?
Hello where did you get your helmet sun visor. I am starting my Japan touring soon and will be needing something like that. Much appreciated if you could tell me where you got it. I live in Yokosuka Japan.
Japan in very affordable, we found it pretty easy to stick to our budget of $30 per person per day and often were spending less than that. There are incredible budget options for food and it's pretty easy to wild camp. We occasionally found good deals on hotels too
@@RollingExistence hey that's great! Thanks for getting back to me, really appreciate it. Hope you have a safe and joyful journey ahead, love your vids guys. Love from UK
We don't really plan out where are videos are going to begin and end. I guess the idea is that the next one just picks up right where the last one ends, so all 48 episodes are kinda just one long continuous video. Maybe at some point we'll get a little more intentional, but when we were on the road for years we kind of just filmed when the whim hit us and didn't try to think about video structure very much.
The biggest cost is the equipment, which will run you around 5000$. After that your biggest cost are plane tickets. Housing and food can be reduced a lot if you camp (like they do) and if you cook your own stuff.
@@tonydejesus2134some people like myself, work seasonally save enoughb money and hit the roads between work seasons. I would say you should probably save about 10-15k if you want to comfortably spend 3-5 months moving around. You could spend only 1/3 of your budget if you are resourceful, but that comes with experience.

Great video, Japan looks like an amazing cycling destination.
As a casual bike tourist I have to say that you guys are the real deal! I am enjoying your videos. Stay safe and keep rolling!
Really loving the past videos cycling through Korea and Japan…… with dedicated bike lanes, places to camp, shower. That’s nice.
Glad you're enjoying them, they're both amazing cycling destinations!
Great videos man and good editing. Can't wait to see more of Japan!.
Great content, we have cycled many times in Japan and will go back in November. The Kii peninsula seems beautiful!

Perfect.
Another great video.
Beautiful country.

Bonsoir à vous
Super ces pistes cyclables 👍
Another fantastic episode guys, Japan is just amazing👍Shame about the road closures, they are hard enough when you know the language!
킴 동영상에 나오신걸 보고 구경하러왔습니다. 구독했어요 😊

Wow you guys are awesome. Even though I live in Korea, i never been to Japan by bicycle like you guys did. I hope you guys finish your travel well.
❤❤❤
Thanks for this nice video. Always great to see the road less travel that you are taking. One question for Jenny, what is the brand of your new rain coat?
It is a Montbell shake dry cycling shell. It's been working out great!
Why kind of grades were there in the 'Alps'? And what gearing did you have, particular for climbing?

Cool ,what the season you were in Japan ?
I have around 26 episodes to catch up. but I'll do it ;D
👍
Did you ever find a way to check ahead if roads are closed?
a lot of roads that are closed to cars are perfectly passable by bike!
During your trips are you using some kind of device to treat water ?
We use a Sawyer Squeeze water filter when we're using natural water sources like streams and lakes.

Is it expensive there guys
I would second that. How much did you roughly spend per month?

You guys seem not to have an outro on the videos. I am always a little confused when they suddenly stop.

물론 영어는 잘 못해서 무슨말하는지 잘 못알아듣지만 당신들의 여행을 응원합니다!
There is a couple called pursuing mountains which are totally copying you guys with the helmet visors 😂😂😂
Awesome video! In which month is this filmed? Planning a tour in Japan next year so trying to figure out all the gear I need
Thank you! This episode was filmed in late April.
Where did you guys get the money to start these trips?
The biggest cost is the equipment, which will run you around 5000$.

@@parsaerfani7973this doesn't actually answer the question. You can minimize expenses, but it's still not free.
