He is True Man and True God because he assumed human nature through His birth from Virgin Mary. Prior to His Incarnation, he was (and always is) the second person of the Most Holy Trinity. All of this is made possible due to the hypostatic union, where both natures (with union, not confusion) are perfectly united in the one person of Christ our Lord. In an isolated context, we wouldn’t refer to Christ as a “human person” because only one person exists in Christ and that is God. Essentially, God did not change in His incarnation- he will always be a divine person, not a hybrid.

He is True Man and True God because he assumed human nature through His birth from Virgin Mary. Prior to His Incarnation, he was (and always is) the second person of the Most Holy Trinity. All of this is made possible due to the hypostatic union, where both natures (with union, not confusion) are perfectly united in the one person of Christ our Lord. In an isolated context, we wouldn’t refer to Christ as a “human person” because only one person exists in Christ and that is God. Essentially, God did not change in His incarnation- he will always be a divine person, not a hybrid.
