I am 5 classes in right now and i really enjoy it! I recommend this class for someone who is already musically inclined, wants to learn how to create commercial worthy material, who wants to build a portfolio and learn the whole business aspect of the industry, and who aspires to really create a business from the ground up. You can use the knowledge they teach you to Just about any job that involves recording and mixing sound and music. Some weeks are really challenging and you definitely sacrifice a portion of your time to this commitment, so be prepared to really work and learn the things you hopefully love as much as me.
Depending on if you are taking this online or at the campus itself: Is it still going well? I am a high school freshman at a school in Indiana and have a few questions about this. How much does this all cost and is there any way for a full ride scholarship? What are the kind of music projects you have been working on so far? How big are the classes // and how long? How much do they teach you in the programs you use // what kind of programs do you use? I know there are no dorms, so are good apartments around there at a good price?
I just graduated with a 4 year degree Bachelor of Music degree. Is this something that is worthwhile for me to take, or is my time and money better spent self-teaching myself and improving my production skills on my own while pursuing my career in the industry?
Please do your research first before you decide to commit to this program fully. I hate to say this but for the most part you learn more about music then you do actually making it . If you aren't completely new to music theory you might have a shot but for those of us who can't learn a whole new way of thinking in a 4 week course then this might not be for you. The teachers are very nice for the most part but you have to be a specific kind of learner to really get the most out of online courses if you are not this isn't for you. Also I would advise you to talk to the career development team to see what the job placement rate looks like for people that graduate with this degree. If you are looking to go out on your own then this could be for you if you are already a songwriter, but if you are looking for employment it's good to know what your chances are. I'm just saying i don't mean to sound bitter I learned a good bit from this program but it was not the right fit for me.
I am on my 8th class And I truly enjoy this program I have learned so much in such little time I highly recommend this degree to anyone that’s in music production
Looking forward to starting the music production course . I would really like to get my hands on some of the in school gear mixing and such, I have seen so gear online I would like to add and it would be nice to get some hands on before investing in it. I would hate to burn it up first day lol.
RWL PRODUCTIONS Hi man how are you? My name is Nicola Berti and I will be starting the Music Production degree on campus this upcoming September. I was wondering if I could speak with someone who is already enrolled in this program because I really want to have some feedback because I have heard good and bad things. So if you don't have problem, please let me know if I can give you my email or my cellphone number. Thank you and I would really appreciate it. :)
Thank you! I already started! I am in week 2 studying psychology of play and creative presentation and I definitely can feel the pace. But my question was referring more about the quality of the courses. I've also heard a lot of people complaning that after graduation they don't find jobs or whatever!
+AntiFlirt Club you just have to show you have the money. You can combine bank statements as long as you show them the money. Then they give you the option to pay it as a monthly rent if you want, which makes it easier obviously. They also give you the chance to get about 3 scholarships which will also lower the total cost of your program.
You are fucked a better option before you even begin thinking about this school would be to look at pointblank online or dubspot or anywhere else . I should know i was in this program
Yes very much so, I luckily am leaving a year before it's too late. I wouldn't say the program itself is useless I just believe it is improperly taught and in all honesty I can only count on one hand how many teachers i've had that have ever taught me anything . I came to this school in good faith and i'm leaving with a 3.0 but what I was sold on was not at all what I received and now i'm forced to live with this mistake until I'm dead. I'm not trying to bad mouth the school because they do have some friendly staff and some and i do mean some teachers do actually care about the students and the subject they are trying to teach but there are others that were not even qualified teachers and were obviously just assigned a class to supervise online and get payed like teachers. I really don't want to say anything more it makes me sick just thinking about it but i'm one of the lucky ones who fortunately never had to live near campus or finished a degree only to find out that there were no jobs available for it. The only positive thing i can think of that i can take away from this school is that i withdrew before it was too late and that from now on i'm investing in a backup plan that pays and not a degree in what is essentially full sail's version of an underwater basket weaving degree.
It's alright man go for your dreams i was in your shoes once . I know you don't want to hear this but i'm going to tell you something that I wish another creative person would have told me before i decided to go here. Don't ever quit making music but in todays world you need to have a safety net or some other career that you can fall back on that pays your bills so that on your free time you can still learn new things and make music because i guarantee you that full sail does not teach something that isn't already available for free on youtube videos and in books. But please either go to college for something simple and stable via a community college if you still don't know what you want to do yet or learn a trade because those jobs are always in demand. I've learned the hard way but it's not too late for you. Good luck to you
Nice Video clip! Apologies for chiming in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you researched - Riddleagan Beating Sonorousness Remedy (google it)? It is an awesome exclusive product for getting professional music production software without the hard work. Ive heard some great things about it and my friend Sam got excellent success with it.
No you will be required for most of your classes to use either pro tools or Logic along with a program called Sibelius which is a musical notation software .
Ehh technically possible but not really worth the effort of exporting and importing midi files when really all you use in the software is the piano roll when it comes to notation but at some point you will have to arrange and mix a whole song in Logic no matter what and they aren't going to accept bounced down stems from another software they actually want everything in midi and you are only allowed to use Logic's built in sounds and plugins.
i guess i'll wait until i win the lottery to go to this school because i don't have that type of money and my credit is messed up so i know i will not be getting a loan !...i'll just have to learn from my local sources and major producers i know!
SABOTAAGEBEATZ fun fact...student loans available from filling out your FAFSA form have nothing to do with your credit so you can always check that out.
DrgnBlk2 last time i tried fasfa they only gave me $4000 for I.T. school....and i need something i don't have to pay back ! i got enough bills already ...lol

I sing and am looking to start a band so I really need to learn how to read music and how to record professionally and stuff. would this be a good school for this purpose?
You can learn how to read music now. It's quite easy, it just takes some time. And if you wanna learn how to record, there's an audio production course.
Hopeless Psycho You can learn this material without the school to be completely honest with you because you know, the internet. It's been a year since this comment so hopefully you've figured that portion out.
it is ok to self teach, but it would be a lot faster to be with someone while learning how to produce music. It like self teaching yourself an instrument, even better a instrument that isn't guitar or piano. It just is a lot better to learn in person because music is so broad and you just need to have the reassurance that you know how to use certain tools or how to create melodies and drum beat along with it
This is place is total BS. You're better off interning at a radio station/working as a janitor and making music on the side for fun until you can make a career out of it. There's nothing here that you can't learn from Udemy, Skillshare and UA-cam and you can go out and get connections on your own. The trick that is played on teenagers is that this institution does such a great job at marketing this program to their parents in an academic manner to make it so seem convincing that it'll benefit their child. They welcome you with you with open arms having you think you'll be working at fancy music and film studios, but they'll spit you out with no future job prospects even if you market yourself. Fact is music is a very oversaturated field with no barrier to entry. FS is nothing but a greedy corporate monster.
