I graduated from the same high school in St. Louis that John Goodman did, “Affton High School.” He has done so much for our old high school. He put in lights for the football field and updated the running track and bleachers, along with various other structures to support the athletic department. He did this mostly because he was a big football player back in high school. Then while he was back to visit, our drama teacher asked him to help out the drama department because they were sorely underfunded and that ended up being his career after all. Being the great guy that John is, he donated an equal amount of money to the drama department. I am very proud that he is one of our alumni. He represents the town very well.
That's how you do it. Don't forget your roots. If you become wildly successful all of a sudden, give a little back to your community. The appreciation goes a long way.
I love John Goodman, so glad he lost some weight so we can enjoy him for years to come. He seems like a truly nice and good man, I guess he is well named 😊. I think he would do quite well as a late night talk show host.
I live in New Orleans and years and years ago when I was much younger I managed a Blockbuster(remember those)...my store was on Metairie Rd in the fancy, upscale part of Metairie, which is a suburb of New Orleans literally on the parish line(we have parishes not counties in Louisiana)...I started at a different Blockbuster originally and was moved to the one I managed....the first week I was there, on a random Friday night 30 minutes before closing, John Goodman walked in to rent some movies...as I checked him out we made small talk but I didn't let on that I knew who he was...the next Friday night he came again, same time...we made small talk and I continued to act like I didn't know who he was...this went on for a few months, always on Friday night...so, one night I decided that I was going let him know how big of a fan I was when he came in since we had made small talk several times and I was comfortable enough knowing he would remember me as the same guy always checking him out....sure enough, an hour before closing he walks in to the empty store and I just start shouting at the top of my lungs "AHHHHHH I'll show you the life of the mind!!!!!"....he smiles and nods and goes about renting his movies...when he came to check out I was quoting more of his roles, telling him how much I liked this or that movie...he says "have you known who I am this whole time?" and I said "of course, but I didn't want to bother you while you're just trying to rent some movies"...we go on talking for awhile and he mentions how he couldn't find anything worth while to rent so I recommended him some newer movies that he hadn't seen...the next time he came in he gushed about how much he liked my selections and asked me to recommend another movie...for the next couple years he would come in to the store and we would talk movies, life and food...right before I left the company I mentioned I was leaving and on my 2nd to last night he came in and said how much he appreciated all the movie recommendations and how he enjoyed our conversations....a real down to earth guy, John Goodman...
I literally had a cat that used to open the door from the living room, that lead to the upstairs bit. I tried to keep the cats downstairs to have less to clean, but she discovered that if she swung on the handle, the door opened -_- and she'd sneak upstairs. Take that, Craig. Cats open doors.
9:10 Craig: given up cigarettes made him gain weight. Said that to John Goodman. Could have had Ethan Suplee and Goodman in a sumo wrestling match on Late Late Night. 18:18 what happened? Don't think he was acting.

I had a friend who was a big baseball player back in high school.
John is an American treasure... love these interviews
I miss this show very much! I watched Craig every night ❤
I love John Goodman so much. One of my favorite actors and people I have never met.
A stellar human being! So humble, hilarious, and dear.
John earned that golden harmonica
He better have been good at it he's one of the Blues Brothers from the sequel
@@onespecies-human344 Oh yeah, that's right. I feel like that was the best playing I've seen for the mouth organ part of the show.
"There's a show around here somewhere" that made me crack up!
I love John Goodman, so glad he lost some weight so we can enjoy him for years to come. He seems like a truly nice and good man, I guess he is well named 😊. I think he would do quite well as a late night talk show host.
He was amazing in The Big Lebowski.
Somehow I never saw any of these appearances. John Goodman is a great guest, a lot funnier than I thought. glad he lost weight, he's looking good.
Are you serious? He could lose 20 stone and he would still be morbidly obese, lol. I wish he would though, cos he's alot of fun😁

"my pasta just went a little al dente" is a charming turn of phrase~💙
Great people make great actors. John Goodman is a prime example of that.
Tom is a shit person, but a good actor.
The Big Lebowski is a classic, Walter is such a great character
Goodman is a genius
John Goodman should have been the late late show replacement after Craig
The clicky language is Xhosa from South Africa. Just incase anyone was interested.
The problem is, everyone who reads your informative message will pronounce Xhosa wrong😊
That wouldbe so cool.. John Goodman doing stand up
Oh, the Dean of AC dept of Greendale!
John Goodman his name says it all a good good man...
He is a good man.
Thanks Norm
uuhh John Goodman -> upvote before watch
Daniel S Yes me too. He is a great human being and very funny of course 😀
John gooden always down to earth, and real. That's what made him such a success. And a true blues brother
I think you're going a bit far here as the only true blues brothers were Jake and Elwood Blues aka John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd.
I just like his accouterments in that last clip, John Goodmontana
Basically john Goodman is like getting to see a grown chris farley
That first intro
Love John Goodman too!!! muahhh!!
I could hear that chair screaming for help in the first clip

Ditto. We had three cats and the oldest one sussed out that trick, which the other two then learned by watching how he did it. Cats are awesome 😎
At least a door can be locked. I've had a dog chew a hole through an exterior wall. :P~
Wow, my dog doing that seems less impressive now that i know cats do that too. I had to turn my door handles vertically
Im glad john goodman lost all that weight, he looks so much better now
fun fact. broken hill is an old australian town where a great australian horror (psychological thriller) was filmed called Wake in Fright. very cool
John Goodman reminds of my uncle.
If this doesn't put a smile on your face, there may be no hope for you... :(
I was thinking "Wasn't John Goodman the first guest ever on this show?" No that's Conan lol
He really tied the show together, did he not?
Very very funny 😆
I had a dream that Mel Tormet was searching me out to sing Speed Racer with his "group" ... and so he did! WTF??? IT WAS A DREAM.
Seriously, the guy who brought out the Golden Mouth Organ should have been wearing a tux.
Also, Gratuitous Finger Pistols would be a great band name.
Him and Russel Crowe should be brothers in something.
Only John Goodman can wear a sport coat and tie with blue jeans and pull it off.
roy skuderin
Michael J. Fox.
John Goodman ❤️❤️❤️
1:29
6:41 The whole bit about the thumb was hilarious.
John goodman runs the show when he’s on!
Thanks!
Hey man, thanks for another great video. Could you do Eric Idle next?
"...Banana Boat's coming..."
12:36 Eating from the other dog's bowl.
Think ol' Johnny did a bump before he came out? I do.
😂😂😂😂
Sasd for our country, not bc of Trump, but bc the state of late night TV and the loss of Craigy Ferg.
Pacha from Kuzco The Emperor's New Groove
I miss Craig so much ☹️
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
YEP !
he s vert funny
9:10 Craig: given up cigarettes made him gain weight.
Said that to John Goodman.
Could have had Ethan Suplee and Goodman in a sumo wrestling match on Late Late Night.
18:18 what happened?
Don't think he was acting.
What's the song in the outdo?
Upvote if you remember John Goodman in True Stories.
i remember him from Oh Brother, Where Art Thou.
Yep. He was also a sporting goods salesman in The Survivors with Robin Williams in 1983.
John Goodman is not a hugger.
Was john wasted in that first vid?
Something was off.
does getting old in hollywood mean a forfeiture of personality; candour and basic human earnestness
I just see sully
John is basically an obese Russel Crow 🤔🤣🤣
7:00
First interview makes me nervous. He just seems like he is wired.
I don't see any wires.
Brenda R honestly, I think he was somewhat nervous. Goodman always seems slightly uneasy in one on one interviews.
Yeah interview 1 he's on a different wavelength from me.
On edit: Also interviews 2, 3, and 4.
My like = 666
But nothing for academics? Go figure
RIP John.
"Pathological completist" might be a more suitable name for the Jayleno fly?
Imagine the pathological completist who gets angry at the omission of John Goodman's first two Craig Ferguson appearances ? 😏
