Wouldn't have been easier to put foam panels on the outside before the metal panels with a little taping you have good vapor barrier and cheaper than spray foam with same benefits.
I did finally get it built. The building is great but wish i went with a couple of feet wider than i did. The door installation was a disaster. They installed a 12x10 door in a 12x8 opening. I lost 6 inches of height so i cant put my boat inside. Door was crooked and was installed unsafe. Town wouldn't pass inspection till i got it fixed. I had a local company fix it so it would pass. TOL BUILDINGS Was the installer. Worst customer service.
Sure is a nice shop. I’ll be starting the process in about a month. My shop will be 30x40 with lean to porch. California permitting/ engineering is ridiculous! I’m sure you could build a dozen of these in the time it takes to get a permit here. I’ve been going back and forth between I-beam or tubing build such as yours. Don’t need snow load but I do want to install a 1 ton beam trolly the full length of the shop. Can your building be engineered for this? I’m in sacramento, county Thanks! And again, nice build. Great quality work.
Hey Wally! This building has a 9x7 frameout and a 10x10 frameout. You can find more details on this recent project here: midweststeelcarports.com/recent-projects/30x40-steel-pole-barn-recent-installation/
@Babette Badges We would recommend to get a quote 1st from a local builder in order to get all the information needed to make a proper comparison as there is more items to consider throughout the construction.
Seems expensive for a "carport" garage. No offense, I don't see the expense in that building. I built an Arco steel building a few years back, much more heavy duty and full insulation for my money.
@@HughMyronM8 For this specific project the corner brace would go down approximately 2' on the sides, so if the sidewall height is 12' tall the corner brace lands at approximately 10' tall!

Terrible idea to make the slab larger then the building. It is imperative that the siding hang just below the sill which allows water to shed properly. AFTER the slab is poured a sidewalk, patio or apron can be set and poured just below the slab with a slope away from the building. Doesn’t matter what region you build. This is the proper way.
Yes. Otherwise it buck's the snow and water, directing it to the sides. It's probably not much of an issue on the walls, but is not good for a roof application. They ran the roof panels vertically.
Looks very good quality.
Nice work!!

Question❓ What bout Installation 🤷🏻♂️ spray foaming. Installing walls. Making it into a
Barndominium 🤔❓
We do the design, manufacturing, and installation of the metal building itself. Many customers finish off the rest.
There is no insulation then what happens in winter
Nice work man

What is the distance from the floor to the bottom of the angled bracing on the 12 foot side wall?

Out west here they recommend making your slab 6in wider than the building all the way around.

"Whoever put together our kit did a really good job"
I don't want to have to deal with one company for the kit and someone else to assemble it....
Good luck with that. Most of these companies contract out for the installs. Just how the industry works my Friend.
