I am really noticing the pumping with the ENC compander setting. However it sounds better, more present for dialog in my ears. What are your recommendations for minimizing this? What do you mean by "near range limits with low receiver signal levels"?

Hi, is it noise/hiss pumping that you hear? This would suggest that you have a weak RF signal or that there is interference on the channel. If you have a good RF signal you should not hear any extra pumping in ENC compared to ENR. Try operating the TX right next to the RX to make sure you have a good signal to test with. If you still hear some pumping then it may be that the AF level is set too low, try increasing the audio level on the TX.
