@@lordmortarius538 not only that HotS was said to be a place out of time in the Blizzard Univers a place where the chacters go to when they die, I mean it isn't cannon but a nice headcannon thing
Heroes of the Storm is a great game! Combining characters and environments from the various Blizzard IPs (as well as a few that are original to the game). There are 90 different character in the game (43 from Warcraft, 17 from Starcraft, 18 from Diablo, 9 from Overwatch, and 1 from their game called The Lost Vikings, and 2 original characters). As others have said, the game is a Moba, like League of Legends and Dota2, and it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, the game was put on maintenance mode almost 2 years ago, and the last character to be added was Hogger (a well known Gnoll character in Warcraft) in December of 2020. There are players who are hopeful that, with the Microsoft acquisition from the company, they may revive some games like HotS. I remain hopeful that this will happen, but I don't expect it too.
I never noticed before that in Varian's Heroes of the Storm trailer, Shalamayne is lit not with the red glow of a Warrior's fury as it was when he carried it in WoW, but with golden Light. It's like the story is in this alternate world he went to, he wields his son's Light even as Anduin wields his father's sword.
You should check out the Hellgate: London cinematics. A group of Blizzard employees broke off in the mid 2000's and started Flagship Studios. The amount of story and lore they built for the game was amazing and it should've been a massive hit, unfortunately they leaned heavily into the idea of procedurally-generated maps which lead to boring, repetitive gameplay and the studio never closed before releasing a follow-up. The Cinematics from 2007 still hold up though! A portal to hell opens in London and wipes out the city, you play Templar knights in power armor fighting to close the gate.
It`s unusual to me that Alextraza here is about same height as Hanzo while in WoW she is like 3 or 4 m tall, about twice taller than normal character. In WotLK at least
@@Roberta-yf4ge gameplay-wise it makes sence, it makes them easier to find in crowd of players But it`s kinda funny when horns of your Tauren can barely touch her chest)
5:20 Please not the Light. Last WoW years showed us Light cosmic force not so good as we thought. In fact, the only reasonable could be Death and Fel (Chaos). Void maybe. Veeeery doubtful maybe. Order, Light and Life are trash. 10:25 I bet not only he couldn't, but even if he would shot right in her eye, it would restore completely in no time.
This hurts, couse i loved this game when it came out, a MOBA with original ideas and SO much more fun then LoL only to get put into maintenance mode after a while becouse Activision wanted to save on money even though they had the most succesful year ever back then. I especially loved the E-Sports scene, every weekend big broadcasts that i watched whenever i got the chance only for it all to get shut down in a blue post on the forums like it was a afterthought. Whats so bizarre is that they were intending to turn this into its own multiverse franchise couse they even released a character who was brand new and from the HotS setting, forgot her name but she was great! That said, these trailers are epic and nothing will change that, the final spark of old Blizzard brilliance before it got smothered by corporate greed.
It does hurt but it’s still a good game. Despite Blizz being absolute assholes in a way they handled the whole situation, at least they’ve left the game in decent and balanced state. Also if for some reason you want some tournaments to watch, Khaldor (twitch/yt) still hosts some. Last summer there even was a LAN event in Berlin, and before that in Miami. So community keeps it going as much as it can
@@kemss4782 Thats great to hear really, couse Blizzard tends to ignore/forget those exist so lets hope the community can keep it going for a long time to come.
there are 2 characters specific to Hots now: Orphea, a young girl fighting with some enslaved lovecraftian being, and Qhira, a fallen knight lady with a sword capable of transformations
I honestly miss OG Alexstraza's look, her Dragonflight one really lost a lot of her character as the soft mother of the Ruby Flight. Her OG model kinda had this softer but still fatal look to it like you were comfortable in her pressence but you knew she was dangerous.
When you finish WoW and Heroes of the Storm cinematics, I recommend Starcraft 2 cinematics. Some of them are even older, but you won't be disappointed.
It'll be pretty dated now, but you should check out the 'Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver' intro. One of my all time favourites. Second choice, 'Dead or Alive 2: Ultimate' intro, but mostly because I love the song played :P
Ryuu ga waga teki wo kurauu. Its not let the dragon become you. My japanese level is not so great but it should be something like "the dragon eats my enemies" but in a very old way
Heroes of the Storm is a MOBA, like League, but with all of Blizzard's characters from all their IPs mashed together into one game, where they all do battle in a place called "The Nexus", which has slices of various locations from each game that characters battle it out on. It's a great take on the moba genre, with talent trees replacing the item shop, buuuut the community is what makes the game suck. In no other online pvp game have I ever been bitched out when our team is winning because "IF YOU USED UR ULT ON COOLDOWN WE'D BE WINNING EVEN HARDER GIT GUD NOOB" and other assorted idiot nonsense. I do not have fun with this game simply because of that. The archer guy is Hanzo, and his ultimate voice line is "Ryuu ga waga teki wo kurau!", which translates roughly to "Dragon, consume my foes!". His brother Genji, the cyber-ninja, says "Ryujin no ken wo kurae!", or "The dragon becomes me!" The StarCraft characters you see are James Raynor (the guy in the big power armour), Nova (the sniper, a Ghost operative), Kerrigan (a psionic human infested by the Zerg), along with several other cameos like Tychus Findlay (the big bare-chested dude with the minigun in the last trailer). StarCraft has an epic set of campaigns starting all the way in the first game, and there is a mod that lets you play the entire SC1 campaign in the SC2 engine, it's great. Highly recommend, and the cinematics are great but you don't get the full story in between them so just keep that in mind.
I was looking for your reaction to the Wrathgate in-game cinematic and couldn't find it... did you not react to that? I feel like your missing crucial information to the Suarfang storyline if you haven't....
Well... it's not that they intentionally killed it, they just made a bad decision to get into the moba game WAY too late after there were already several very well established franchises that people were already invested in and didn't want to switch. League, Dota, Smite, Heroes of Newerth etc. They DID pull the plug on the pro HOTS league in an extremely shitty way which further soured players on the game, so in that respect they did kill it, but since it wasn't profitable due to their own mistake of getting into the scene late, that's a valid reason to pull out :P
@@lordmortarius538They intentionally killed it, actually. They brought in a CFO that pulled off the e-sports team because it wasn't performing as well as they wanted it to. Then they started pulling developers off of it, which means no new content. It wasn't that the game didn't have a fanbase, it's just that it wasn't as big as they wanted it to be. So yes, the intentionally killed it.
Sorry but hard disagree with Alexstraza's current design. To me, her HotS design is the best. It shows her draconic features and keeps her powerful while her thicc curves comminicate her as a life bearer. Her Wrath model is just a sex object and the dragonflight design is way too extra. She looks like dragon royalty rather than one who valued her children so much, she allowed herself to become enslaved by the Orcs.

Nova is the best. Got me to Diamond League despite being rated as a "D-Tier" character.
Fun fact Varian was added to Heroes of The Storm shortly after his death in WoW during the pre Legion event.
The video was made as a tribute to his character, which is just perfect.

This hurts my heart because I want this to get regular updates again!!!!!
Yeah this game is sooooo cool, the best MOBA for me !
they just started update heros of the storm
Patch updates are not the same as event updates. Patch updates I expect because people are still playing but the game needs more content!
Likewise… I enjoyed this MOBA
Hanzo couldn't have killed Alexstrasza, she was toying with him the whole time.
YAAAAAYY!! So glad to see that you enjoyed my recommendation!
Where is Mechastorm? It is the best HotS trailer of all time. Even Guillermo del Torro was amused by it and shared it on his tweeter as a masterpiece
HotS was and still is a massively underrated game.
Varian part was memorial because he was add to HotS short time after he was killed in WoW.
I was introduced to the Blizzard Universe through HOTS! I started playing not knowing anything about any franchise but quickly became consumed lol
Varian's tribute will always bring tears to my eyes such an amazing heroic character

There were a couple more animated cinematics I think
