I just got a crockpot multicooker and its been such a lifesaver. This morning chopped up some veg, chucked it all in and by the time we got home for lunch, soup was ready. So cheap/ healthy/ easy. Definitely recommend for busy mums.

I'm interested to hear more about the chiropractor's and fast delivery. My labour with my second was half an hour and she came in one push- but she was the sleepiest and most content baby ever. Literally did nothing but sleep and eat until she was six months (hasn't stopped moving since though!)

Our first boy was such a bad sleeper! Now he is 22 months old and sleeps 👌🏼 so there is hope for everyone! Baby number two is the same 😅 he only takes naps in the carrier, sometimes stroller, sometimes contact napping…the nights are not easy but ok! Every baby is different but I wish it wouldn’t take so much effort to get him to sleep! Sending hugs! 💜

My daughter was similar to try and get to sleep when she was tiny. Dummy, swaddle sack, singing the same song over and over in a dark room while rocking and swaying was my life for weeks/months 😂 and all the white noise! Eventually she learnt the cues but at first I was getting her to sleep for 30mins+ just for her to nap for 20-30mins lol. It’s brutal the first few months isn’t it xxxx

Hi, I've just discovered you as I'm unexpectedly pregnant with baby number 2. When my little boy was a baby we struggled so much with his sleep. We were tearing our hair out and found a sleep specialist who has over 25 yrs of NHS experience. She helped us to improve his sleep over the space of three weeks and it was totally transformed. We used to spend between 1 and 2 hrs trying to get him to sleep and he could only manage two fifteen minute naps in a day. I used to make UA-cam videos and did a couple of videos on what we learned from her - if you ever want the links or her details, let me know. My little boy is now 6 and he still sleeps amazingly. She saved us! 😆

    It’s really
Hard with the second one as like you said the routine is off as not just focussed on that. If you try and look at wake windows etc she might be easier to get to sleep but it won’t always happen as you’ll need to be doing nursery runs etc keep going … it gets easier !

    • @HomeWithShan

Couldn’t agree more, I’m glad we’re looking at thing like wake windows more now, Halle just doesn’t seem to acknowledge them in the slightest haha 😂

I know what you mean about Mum friends. If you haven’t already I’d really encourage you to explore a bit with George’s nursery friends. Someone at my son’s nursery set up a mum’s WhatsApp, which I joined, and now I have a group of 10 mum friends, with kids exactly the same age, all just round the corner from us. We go on monthly nights out together without the kids too. I would never have started one and sort of scoffed a bit when invited but it has been life changing. You could ask the staff to stick a little note in his nursery friends’ bags with your number on it? Those mums might be feeling the same way as you.

For the 20 min nap... when my LO hit 3m or 4m sleep regression, LO slept 5 or 6 times per day 20 minutes only. LO outgrew this around 5 or 6 months. Not saying chiro is wrong but every baby sleeps differently and some babies are purely catnappers for some time and they will outgrow it, it just takes time and lots of energy.

We had a baby who would only fall asleep with motion. I kept a flip flop in the bottom of the pram and then pushed the pram forward and backwards over it to make it ‘bumpy’ like outside. Worked a treat 😊

I used to watch your videos when George was little and always was so jealous how easy he would fall asleep. My son was like Halle and would only fall asleep in the baby carrier or push chair 😄 It took him almost 9 month until he was able to go to sleep in his bed. But now he is like the best sleeping toddler I know, easily falling asleep on his own. They are all so different, but a lot of baby’s need movement and body contact with their parents to fall asleep. It will change for sure!! I only have one tip: get a good podcast and just listen while you are rocking her to sleep (at least when George is not around) it made me think I was using the time for myself as well 😄A baby swing hammock used to help as well (at least for a while). I don’t know about the UK, but I was able to rent one, because they are quite expensive…

I didn’t know I was born did I 😂😂😂 I’d it makes you feel better, George hasn’t been the best sleeper between 2-3 years old haha! Thank you for this tips though, I will deffo take the advice about listening to podcasts 😅🙏🏼xxx

Just know that your videos give me so much comfort! I actually found your channel because I was looking for baby routine videos. My son is a year younger than George so you already had a lot of content. And it was so inspiring to watch you! It took me almost the whole first year to accept that every child is different. As soon as I tried to accept the fact, that he needs more time, things just changed by itself. We took every „stage“ as it was and as soon as we felt, his sleep changed, we tried to gently apply more routines and slowly developed a very staple routine. I think the key was to find the right balance between letting him develop in his own time and softly pushing him to a routine that would work for us as well and would actually help him. I‘m currently early pregnant with baby number two so your content will be certainly re-watched next May 😅 I love your content so much, because I think your are so relatable. You come across as such a lovely, positive and warm women and you would certainly be the mum I would love to meet at soft-play (but I live in Germany, so the chances are not so good 😅)

Halle sounds so much like my daughter in the sleep department. We'd have to rock her to sleep for like 45 minutes. I was trying to do an eat, play, sleep routine but I found it so much harder for her to nap. I found it easier to feed her to sleep (you can break that habbit later, but also keep halle used to a bottle so you can have a break!) but honestly once I did that, it was so much better. You got this 🤞🏼

Glad to see you're doing much better and that life isn't as stresstul anymore 😊 for the rocking to sleep in the carseat, can you do the same but in the flat pushchair or bassinet so she can stay sleeping there or be transferred easier? Or can you rock her in your arms and then transfer? My baby has always fed to sleep or been rocked in pushchair or arms but that's a killer now as he's 1 and huge 😂 x

my little girl was like this too but it was because I was rocking her and didn't put her down so she could sleep by herself, by 8 months I thought enough is enough I need to try her to get to sleep independently so she's not over tired as babies do need a decent amount of sleep.. I just put her in a cot one afternoon awake, she moaned for about 10 mins but fell to sleep.. if she hadn't had done id have looked at the feber method xx

@@HomeWithShan oh girl I feel you, btw she was and still is my only child so I didn’t exactly have another baby to attend to so I had the time to do this, I just built a rod for my own back by rocking her to sleep from day one I think. It got to 8 months old and I cut it all out and just got her to self soothe from that day she did 2hr naps and 12hrs at night with zero rocking! Before that with rocking she’d only nap for 20mins at a time she was so moody and over tired I noticed a difference straight away as she started to get well rested.. essentially self soothing can be seen as sleep training and a lot of people judge but she never cried just whinged and if she had gotten to the point of crying hysterically I’d have obv comforted her but it did her the world of good in my opinion 🤣 she’s 2 now and a very energetic toddler and quite demanding so she deffo benefits from them boundaries with the right amount of gentleness 🫶🏽🫶🏽 xxx

What is the brand of tiles that George has? How many did you get thanks? Halle reminds me of My girl when she was little she only used to nap in my arms for 20 minutes and woke up around 8 times a night for the first 2 years. She breastfed exclusively and never wanted to be put down
She’s three now and better as she only wakes up once or twice now, but she’s never slept through the night. It’s absolutely exhausting, but I definitely have got used to the lack of sleep years. sometimes I’ll just go to bed really early when she does so that I get a half decent sleep last night. I was in bed at 7:30 pm 😂.
