About this game:
When Isaac’s mother starts hearing the voice of God demanding a sacrifice be made to prove her faith, Isaac escapes into the basement facing droves of deranged enemies, lost brothers and sisters, his fears, and eventually his mother.
Gameplay
The Binding of Isaac is a randomly generated action RPG shooter with heavy Rogue-like elements. Following Isaac on his journey players will find bizarre treasures that change Isaac’s form giving him super human abilities and enabling him to fight off droves of mysterious creatures, discover secrets and fight his way to safety.

I fully expected NL to stand in the corner and press R after getting a tears down pill and a room full of stonies as Lilith.
Brimstone lilith is especially good because the incubus brimstone charging mechanics work the same as lil brim, meaning you can press the fire button immediately after releasing to fire, and the laser will still start charging without cutting off your brimstone laser.

I think what probably happened with that Void portal is what happens with every entry to the next floor - if you try to enter too early, it closes until you walk away and wait a second. Not hard to imagine given that it's just a variant on the end portal template.
I love the doubled/tripled dimensional babies. They're like little back up dancers twirling around Lilith.
