Eddie definitely in the conversation of statically strongest ever. Difficulty is most people are going on a 10 year social media era. What about the guys prior to social media. We've no idea what a guy like Z was doing in the gym at his peak, gym lifting for social media wasn't a thing then. We do know he held most static strongman records without being pushed to the limit. You mention the axel record in Eddie's 200kg 2012 clip, and the record was Z's 215kg from 2011. He never really had opportunity to take it higher after that and Eddie beat it in 2017. Z'd done 200kg way back in 2007 IFSA final, and 208kgx2 in ASC in 2010. I'm sure Z could've raised it to 220kg+ like the log had he had the opportunities.
I think for raw pressing power, Eddie is the strongest man ever. In terms of absolute best strongman at his peak, then I'd go for Thor though. No one can touch Eddie on strict pressing power though.
@Charles Tinsman spoken like a true idiot with no knowledge of the sport. He's not the greatest strongman ever. I highly doubt he could have won another WSM title. His static strength though is off the scale and clear for all to see. Anyone who denies that really needs professional help.
@Charles Tinsman then you'll know that Eddie's strict 216kg axle was one of the greatest feats of strength ever, as was his 472.5kg deadlift on the stiff bar at 2017 WSM.
Maybe mst should do a video on what the benefits with training without supportive gear are, ive always thought about training without any supports but dont know if it would be that beneficial
Brilliant video that, Eddie is brutal tbf. I’ve just watched him beat trey Mitchell on the hammer hold !! Wow !! Eddie held beyond near failure for so long - unreal to say he’s not in strongman as such atm
I would agree. When it comes to pure raw static strength. Eddie was the best. Had he not retired when he did, I reckon he would of taken log, axle records to.
if not for giving up training for strongman, i could have been the tallest strongman ever, at my peak for training i was 560lbs, and im 7'7" i gave up on strongman because i decided to focus more on raising my kids, was a single dad at 16, am now 30, happily married with 4 more kids, my twin girls i raised since 16 i would often leave at my aunts so i could train at the gym, but when i met my now wife, i decided to be a proper dad side note: my girls are now 14 and inherited my tall gene, there both 5'11", hopefully the rest of my kids even out since i married an adorable short lady who is 4'7" edit: i still keep myself in peak shape, i do 100 tractor tyre flips a day, every day rain or shine
One thing I noticed you didn't cover here is that Eddie at that time pushed the speed half deadlift reps too. Think he went upto 420kg upto the knee. Deffo helped his off the floor speed & let's face it most haven't got 470+ above the knees 🤷
No disrespect to Eddie he’s a monster, but it’s funny how everyone just forgets Brian Shaw. Literally every video with Eddie an Brian Eddie tells everyone that Brian is probably one of the strongest man ever all around.
I don't know how true it is but I remember hearing somewhere that the death by deadlift set he did had to be filmed twice because the camera didn't work the fist time.
I don’t think Eddie would touch anything close to 450 on deadlift raw. His grip was fucked after he tore the ligaments in his hand at WSM 2016 Bear in mind Thor failed 430 on grip in 2018 I think his squat would be higher than 450 though Something like 470-300-400 for a full meet I think.
Clueless mate, Eddie would hit maybe 410 kg deadlift raw , 270 kg bench and 400 kg squat In a powerlifting comp. Actually a long way off the world's best.
@@brutalcummer6308 He can rep 360 for 6 on SSB and 325 for 15 and you think he could only do 400 on a stiff bar with knee wraps and a belt? give your head a wobble
@@brutalcummer6308 previous comment wasn’t Shane btw, there’s a few logged in here haha But yeah, Thor mixed grip, notice I said learnt to hook grip, you’re also well off on the squat … like miles off lol I’ve squatted 360kg Eddie would be way over 400kg 😅 same with the bench… he’s benched 260 for reps plenty of times. I agree the deadlift and grip could be up for debate but you make the mistake of talking in absolutes instead of the possibilities.
@@brutalcummer6308 Eddie could have if he’d focused on the WR for a while. So could Thor. He showed plenty of potential when he totalled 1100 with 5 weeks prep
Those vids are pretty good at range of motion. But I’m sure Brian Shaw would disagree that Eddie does everything full range. There are plenty videos where he barely moves on accessories. Not hating.
I do full range of motion, but still lost mobility. I don't stretch at all though, and never get any massages or any physiotherapy. So I know it's my fault haha
Can you review Petr Petras...guarantee blokes like Petr Petras, Daniel Bell and possibly Vlad Alhazov of Ray Williams are stronger than Eddie Hall. You realise he had to bloatmax and roid Max to get the deadlift world record...Rauno Heinla will break 505 kgs and Benni Magnusson wants a 528 kg deadlift which would be exciting if he gets to full health he's got a shot!
@@MSTSystems yea react to petr petráš he is fucking beast as well on the isolation gym stuff. And on. Cheat curls he is fucking crazy, he done like 170kg.
Lmao just Saying Eddie was on more juice than Mr Olympia competitors... totally disagree that he was the strongest man ever . Equipped deadlift and shoulder strength wise possibly but not overall. You'd never ever see Eddie squat 500 kilos if he did..fair game I'd call him the greatest of all time .
Eddie squatted probably the most ridiculous set of squats I have ever seen. 800+ pounds with nothing but a shirt and shorts on a whipping bar for like 8 reps and making it look easy.
Mobility of a Fucken door 🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏

Well known that Z did all of his biggest lifts in competition
Big z was training for 240kg log but he got injured he said he’s done 400kg for 5reps squat

2018 was "legendary Thor" 💪 Eddie was stronger.
Thor was the better strongman.
Awesome video spot on with your evaluation/breakdowns !
Maybe mst should do a video on what the benefits with training without supportive gear are, ive always thought about training without any supports but dont know if it would be that beneficial
Just watch him in WSM2017, his static strength was insane, he could have gone over 500kg in the deadlift.
Yea i allways loved isolation gym stuff progressions, when i get from this technique blocks, i have to have them included for years on.

Very similar to Kazmaier's training if you think about it.
Another class video!

Rebel strength down with the thickness mate 😂😂😂

In terms of just static strength I agree, in terms of overall strongmen I'd have to go with Hafthor.

Yeah, Thor is a boss to
Better than Eddie probably, but Big Z and Brian Shaw are the two best overall strongman ever
@@dummy9517 big tom gonna be #1 when its all said and done
Let’s talk about the lb for lb strongest of all time. Definitely a few U90 guys and I’m talking British guys and you be one of then
Pound for pound might be Anatoly 😂
Eddie also has the Hercules gene wich means you hold and gain more natural tissue than average, I’m pretty sure it has to do with myostatin deficiency
Eddie does half reps very often for endurance sets
good stuff

Pure raw strength, I think Eddie was 2nd in history, only to Hafthor at 205kg bodyweight, when he did the 501 DL
Eddie is a way better presser. But yeah, Hafthor demolished that deadlift

Thor 👌
Great strongman but wouldn’t say he’s the strongest. Probably in the top 10
We're talking about strength not competition.
An "actual" strongman fan's strongest ever list starts with Eddie, 100 out of 100 times, and for obvious reasons. Top 10 lol
Does the guys name rhyme with scoe jofield? 🤣
