Melissa is such a treasure. She deserves more sketches weekly.
If you look back you'll notice she got less air time after Heidi Gardner joined the cast. The other problem is the cast is way too bloated. They could easily get rid of at least 5 or 6 cast members and let the better ones get more airtime.

@@robertcolontonio7775 I totally agree! Just curious, which cast members would you cut? I don't know their names, but there are at least 3 cast members that have joined in the past two years that aren't as key to the cast, in my opinion. I think SNL even made a joke about the cast that came along during the pandemic and how their popularity and notoriety suffered.
Some of my personal favorites are Cecily Strong, Mikey Day, Kyle Mooney, Ego, and of course Jost/Che
Also, Melissa could have her own show with all of her spot-on impressions. I had to show my parents her Dolly Parton. Scary accurate!
*I believe one of the reasons Melissa has "limited" appearances on Saturday Night Live is by her own personal design. She deals with anxiety. She has spoken about it in the past on her UA-cam channel and on her podcast.*
She should’ve just given her letter to the Devil. He was right there for the other Weekend Update segment. Ol’ Beezlebub helped Colin marry Scarlett. He could hook Melissa up too.

Melissa came to my small hometown in Millersville, Pennsylvania for a show a couple months ago, and absolutely crushed it. She was hilarious, and was extremely kind and generous with her time talking to fans after the show. I was to get a picture with her, and I wanted to talk to her more, but I smoked a lot of weed before the show and didn’t want to embarrass myself lol. That being said, Melissa is the best, and we all love you Melissa ❤️

I love how a recurring theme in the Update guests seems to be comedians openly wondering how Colin managed to marry Scarlett Johannsen and have a child with her.
My favorite was last year when Che was talking about how crazy the year was and he says “You almost married Scarlett Johansen” when they had been married for months.
Another theme that I like is how everyone thinks Colin is a secret racist
I feel like Melissa would play a great character on Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. She’s so sweet.

Fun fact: Maria Bamford auditioned to be an SNL cast member in the early 2000s. She got beat out by Finesse Mitchell and Kenan Thompson.

I always thought the “cut for time” stuff didn’t actually make it in the live show? Now I’m realizing how ridiculous that is… 🙈
They tape the dress rehearsal before they go live so they can test out how sketches go over with a live audience instead of just a writers room.
The cut for time sketches are generally placed later in the show so they can get cut in case something else is running long.
The ones you actually see on youtube are from them recording the dress rehearsal

How could this be a dress rehearsal when they're already dressed? A dress rehearsal is trying on clothing that might work. Duh.
@@Some_One_One snl is different, also that is NOT what a dress rehearsal is. Full dress is wearing costumes that are ALREADY chosen and will rarely change, and it’s basically a full run through of the show exactly how it would happen when actually being performed.
@@Some_One_One Drew Caton is right. I've been an audience in the dress rehearsal, and they wear exactly the same clothes to see how it will work for the live show. Mind you, the dress rehearsal takes place literally 1h30 before the live show. I was there for the Chadwick Boseman & Cardi B rehearsal. The only thing that changed in the live show was Cardi's live show outfit and that was because she was pregnant and her full outfit was a lot tighter than the loose dress rehearsal outfit.

Strange, when I go on holiday to Spain they love that I can speak Spanish and I get free drinks and all sorts. Especially if you order a Spanish drink like a ponche caballero, the fact you know of it is enough for you to be their favourite customer for the time you are there.
@@gamesandfun781 Spain is a bit more international than Mexico, and they deal with a different "class" of international tourists (gringos have high levels of Dunning Kruger going on, no matter how friendly they are, they will 99% make you cringe when confidently plowing through subjects they know nothing about).
