When somebody of Trenlass' age says "back in the day", I have to chuckle. I remember when the original Golf was released here in Australia, saw the introduction, and eventual demise of LPG fueled cars. (Am still a qualified LPG installer for vehicles). Most reliable car I've owned.. a mid '90's Camry or my current '03 Subaru (21 years old and the only "problem" was the heater coil on the #1 EGO sensor burning out.).. most unreliable.. both the Mercedes vans.
To be honest whether an LPG system would bring the engine's demise sooner depends a lot on the system itself, the engine internals and last but not least - the one installing it. For example there are lots of Korean cars (Kia, Hyundai) that come with LPG as their only fuel source and behave very well, last a long time etc, but these were factory installed and the engines were designed for that fuel. My Mom's old Ford Mondeo for on the other hand would eat itself up if we slap an LPG system (even a high-end one). The internals of its engine operate already at their temperature limits and when LPG is used the lifespan of the valves will shorten a lot. On petrol they need adjustment every 60K km while on LPG it is recommended to do it at 20K and replace them along with the lifters and other hardware at 200K. My 15y.o. A6 3.0TFSI can burn its catalytic converters with a simple remap (also due to temperature constraints) and if we add LPG it would do that even in stock mode. On top of that it's direct injected, so 15-25% petrol will always be used even with an LPG. Damn it... I went off again on the car topic... Nice Satsuma video ;)
I was always advised to change the oil every 6 months at the outside if you drive a ICE. I had cars for 30 years and did this, never had a car fail on my for engine issues - welding now that was the problem as I never had a new car but always 10+ years old.
Had a 1.3l ford festiva, serviced it religiously, used premium fuel (was way cheaper on a cents per km basis) and it was a fabulous commuter car. 450k km on it when it finally died, only needed things like CV joints. Look after them, they look after you.
did anybody realize, that the Marceau died before trenlass shells arrived there but he still got the F-Key charge. even that Marceau was allready dead.... this game man
244k and 5 kills … lost. 243k and 4 kills with Yamato lost. 313k with Yoshino, 5 kills lost. 23% win this week-end. Win rate is so random when you play alone

I am in love with my 2003 v6 Camry. I love the way you pronounce Subaru.
Blessed be cars

All the taxis run on LPG in Perth (or they did when I was last there).
Someone who knows the joys of CIS-K Jetronic!
A 21 year old Subaru and you're on the original head gasket?! I find that hard to believe.

👌.
Etwas überdenken heißt im Englischen nicht "to overthink" sondern "to think over" 😊
