He would've made for the perfect Bond when Craig took over, but now, Fassbender is past the right age for it. Theo James should be next in line. Or honestly, I'd love to see something really different with Bond and cast a very young actor for it so we can see Bond's up-and-coming to the character we know so well.
Nahhhhh bruhhhhh… Cate is most definitely NOT aging gracefully… Sorry. It’s a case of bad wine gone SUPER, super bad. Like ouch man. I’d be scared to get like, 50 ft close to her. Feel me?
Mr. and Mrs. Smith was the first thing that came to mind when I first watched this trailer. And, I concur about Soderbergh. He is a master of the game. I always look forward to his work.
Black Bag looks incredible! Amazing cast. Fassbender with those glasses-such a sartorially elegant spy. I always wanted him to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond, but maybe this is even better. We’re getting a Fassbender spy/assassin multiverse across different genres and auteur directors: The Killer (David Fincher), The Agency, and now Black Bag. Who needs Bond when we’re getting this?
if by missing you mean make a bad movie then no, but probably half his oeuvre is sort of nice but not particularly memorable films like Logan Lucky or the Laundromat
@@JoeyJoe-k3m that's the most meh of all of them! I quite enjoyed Kimi though so hopefully he's on the way back up again. From this trailer it looks that way...
He might be the most efficient director in the world. He knows where to put the camera, when to move it, when not to move it and he knows how to get the best out of his actors. He's not afraid of genre but he also likes to experiment in a way that feels inviting, not alienating. We need him and others like him now more than ever
Very excited to see Sodeberg return to the spy genre with Fassbender. If anyone at Focus is reading comments I want you to know I genuinely appreciate you getting this project to screens. Please make sure to release a 4K UHD Blu Ray for this.
@@missourigreen051 I've seen it at a festival, too, couple months back. Yes, it's indeed a slow burn, but not in a calculated way. It really is un-cinematic and the performances are not that good either. One of my favourite movies is Jonathan Glazer's "Under The Skin", and I also love Roy Anderson and Michael Haneke films, so I don't think I have an issue with slow burn. I don't regret seeing "Presence", because I love how Sodebergh always plays around with the form, but this was a real miss. Ironically, his previous collaboration with Koepp, with "Kimi", was much more enjoyable and cinematic , and that one was straight to HBO.
very original idea for a film, have never seen anything about a husband and wife spy duo who are set against each other, what a treat, and it looks so visually stunning too
The concept reminds me of Brad Pritt and Marion Cotillard from Allies. I know the synopsis isn’t the same, but the husband/wife relationship reminds me of that. Very original indeed.
He has a perfect voice for spy/killer narration, imo: soothing, and deep. It lulls you into a false sense of normalcy, relaxation and safety. Then BAM - out comes the lethal killer. It's an exciting contrast.
Watching this made me realise I haven’t seen a serious GROWNUP movie in so so long. That was actually any good. I’m ready to lock in for this one. No popcorn at the movies-I’m going in focused!
Cast and crew is filled with heavy hitters. Koepp, Soderbergh, Fassbender, Blanchett, James Bond and future James Bond, and the chick from Industry! I'm seated.
This trailer's way too long, isn't fast paced enough and gives away too much. The trailer for The Killer is perfect and should be an example on how to do thriller trailers
I think Fassbender is dying for that bond role with all these spy projects he's doing 😂
Yupp 😭😭
Yep, and that's only reinforced by the fact that Pierce Brosnan is in this aswell! 😁
He's probably too old already, they'll want someone who can play the role for a while. On the upside in about a decade he could play George Smiley.
He would've made for the perfect Bond when Craig took over, but now, Fassbender is past the right age for it. Theo James should be next in line.

I got Aaron taylor-johnson for the Bond role
Cate and Michael are like a fine wine. The keep becoming more exquisite with age.
Cate is like wine, Michael is like vodka martini, shaken not stirred.
Micheal Fassbender is one of the GREAT actors of this new time!!!!
Except when she's taking videogame acting roles and he's trying his hardest to be a robot. Booorrring!!

Mr & Mrs Smith meets The Killer. Sidenote: That shot of the car exploding felt like it was shown about 3 times.
Haha true. It’s stupid that it’s not the directors making the trailers anymore. I’m pretty sure the movie is much more to it than what we see…
It's the same explosion... I don't know if it's supposed to be the same car.
I think the same gun was slowly revealed a few times too.
Probably the money shot of the picture.

Mr and Mrs Smith, but dead serious. I can dig it. Also, Soderbergh? My interest instantly goes up.

@LaitoChen yea he's out of the bond prime yrs but he's been giving us nothing but good stuff lately
Sameeee 😂😂😂😂

SOooo, basically Mr. and Mrs Smith in a much more serious tone?
with less budget
Pretty much. I don't see the originality in this movie.
🤣 yes, but with British accents, so obviously much fancier
Mr and Mrs Stiff
Naomie Harris and Pierce Brosnan are in a spy movie together.
We’ve officially gotten a Bond x Moneypenny reunion boys
lol
Hell yeah. She was one of my favorite part of those films
@ all we need is the two to do a scene together. And make it better: have Pierce’s character drink a martini. Shaken, not stirred
He is my favorite James Bond for a reason Pierce is pure class and elegance
Blanchett, Fassbender under Sodenbergh’s direction is gold
You say Fassbender I say when and where. Fantastic actor.
This is iconic
My favourite celebrities/ heroes Micheal and Cate working together this makes me happy

Cate's Making A LOT OF MONEY with movies - She's everywhere.

😂😂😂
Fassbender and Blanchett, directed by Soderbergh. Absolutely awesome! I can't for this.
Am vary happy to see Michael Fassbender is showing up in more things
my goodness, i'll go to the theater just to watch Cate, Pierce & Mike share the same screen together. Love it!
At this point, I’m thinking Fassbender is a double agent in real life and the acting part is just his day job.
This cast is insane
It’s crazy how much Fincher and Soderberg have the same kinda style!! And David Koepp wrote it!! Experienced and seasoned writer!!
Soderbergh is restless. He was born to be a filmmaker. Absolute genius. He has not once missed. Truly the American Rainer Werner Fassbinder.
