Two dragons, one is the Hippocampus and the other is the Wyrm. The Hippocampus is the water monster / dragon and the Wyrm is the land dragon. These are intertwined to show their equal importance and part of the same spirit. This original spirit was the serpent before the Romans split these into two entities.
