Am trying to rebuild a 1951 DeSoto transmission and am having issues with the counter shafter... We had the replace the free wheeling gear and had to take it out completely.... Now with all the roller bearings in place there dont seem to be any play on that counter shaft.. I would think it should spin freely and be able to put the main shaft thought but it's so tight we cant get it alined and it doesn't seem right can you help 😊
Thanks for your videos! they help me a lot as '52 windsor deluxe owner How can I know if the level of fluid drive transmission is low or high? I think it was never changed.. what fluid should I add? any specific one? In case of brakes fluid, could I add a standard brakes fluid instead of mopar brakes fluid?
Great info. My wife and I are restoring a 1940 Dodge Wayfarer Sedan. Is the M6 for sure the same transmission that is in it? Also we would like to clean it up, reseal it, etc. Any recommendations and advice??
A 1940, did they have the semi auto tranny then? I'm unsure. Clean it and reseal it, you may need to try and find a local shop that could do that. Or are you comfortable and experienced doing your own transmission repairs?
Very good. I also have a spare one of these. Mine is the Tip-Toe DeSoto version.
Am trying to rebuild one the same 1951 DeSoto tip toe trans.. the counter shaft is where we are stuck at it seems a bit tight
