Now that is amazing that you installed that new dash board with out having to pull out the entire sub frame assembly just because of a few small screws behind and under the dash. That really has built up my confidence to do this by myself. ☺👍
Lmc is a actual dash top shell that is why you have to disassemble the truck to install it, my truck has a dash skinz dash cap,lmc dash top shell is a very impressive product.
I bought my replacement from LMC , installed it , and immediately installed the velour dash cover. I did this a few years ago and I now live in SWFL @@RamblerReb
LMC made a video and it's pretty complicated and they suggest you do remove the entire dashboard, mine is a 2002 dashboard completely crumbled, thanks Dodge.
So being as this is a 4 year old video I have a couple questions since I need to do this to my 00 4x4. How has the LMC dash held up- they still are not cheap @ $260 for the dash and another $170 for the bezel plus another $5 for the clips. Next - was the Amazon one the same thing as far as able to be screwed on or was it just an actual crappy cap that was to go over the carcass/remains of the dash pieces?
I purchased the LMC one (tan colored) for my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport pickup approximately 3 years ago. It has held up just fine. I live in south Texas so the sun does get brutal here during the summer. It is DEFINITELY better quality than the piece of crap that DaimlerChrysler installed when I bought my pickup brand new. I followed the video that LMC (ua-cam.com/video/0COhh7RCU50/v-deo.html) has even though it is only approximately 13 minutes long. A few suggestions if you plan to tackle this yourself. 1.) Take your time and take lots of pictures to fall back on in case you forget how something was before you removed it. 2.) Take more pictures. 3.) When it is time to remove the dash, I would have someone to help lift and remove it completely. It's not because it's too heavy but because the remaining plastic frame pieces are so brittle that it will break if it twists and turns while removing it. I had to use JB weld, some wood pieces, and some of the broken plastic to repair where the plastic broke. 4.) Again, take notes and/or pictures of any electrical connection you remove and it will save you from future headaches when trying to remember what went where. If you have worked on cars before and have some mechanical ability, this job isn't too difficult. Good luck!
I have a 2000 dodge ram laramie slt i am thinking about buying a carbon fiber or stainless steel trim for my ram dash bezel i think it would look neat.
I like the stock look, though I did wind up painting one bezel to match the dash color and it came out looking pretty good, actually. The bezel was used and had a little scuffing and I absolutely declined on moral grounds to buy another can of paint just for that, so I used the paint I bought to spruce up that godawful brittle cupholder I had to replace on it.

Yeah, the sun did the disassembly work for me. It was in so many pieces I literally vacuumed most of the original dash up.
I can attest to the quality of the LMC truck dash I currently have one from them installed in my 99 Ram V10

It is. I've used two and they were both excellent quality and fit extremely well.

Im Canadian, I have a 98 Cummins. and the dash is perfect in fact never seen a broken one. Idk whats with the American trucks. Good vid!
The American trucks had Mexican plastic in the dashes.
It's the lower latitude the sun intensity is much higher down here. Arizona is even worse, and points south.

I saw that video and I chose not to play their twisted little game.
Looks great !
Thanks!
Thanks I have a 2001 I got to do the same thing too

So, you can actually install the new dash without disassembling and removing the whole dash?
The top can be replaced without removing the entire dash.
how did u deal with all the screws behind the dash ? u just show the new dash installed but no actual assembly
I've done two of these, and both times the merciless rays of the sun did the disassembly for me.

Was it expensive? I love the get the link where you bought it
The link is in a reply I made to a comment below.
what is the type of dash cover that you did from LMC please that has the screw holes and not just a slipon like you took off
www.lmctruck.com/1994-15-dodge/dash-components/de-1998-02-dash-pads-and-instrument-bezel
What about all the other dash parts across the dash? Where can I find those at??
Which parts do you mean? Like the bezel? LMC will have them. If you mean things like the switches, junkyards will be your best bet, or possibly eBay.
Hi can you post the Amazon link from china dash cover please thank you for your time 😎
It was actually from Mexico. I went back into my Amazon orders to get the link, but it seems to be gone. Sorry.
What brand dash cover ?
I got it from LMC.
Exelente travajo quedó perfecto
Gracias!
Where dd you get your steering wheel cover?
Amazon.
@@RamblerReb by any chance do you remember the brand or name ?
@@devoyup3650 I looked it up on Amazon and it says currently unavailable. The brand is 9 Moon, if that helps.
@@RamblerReb thank you
Where can you buy a dashboard core
I found one on eBay. It was NOT cheap. Basically a salvage yard or a parts truck is your only way.
You have the link ?

If you don’t mind, what was the cost on both of these together?
At the time, each dash from LMC was about $250. That's five or six years ago, though.
How long does it actually take for job ?
