Such a great video. Everything about it is made so well. Huge congratulations! Also I should mention, even though I had personally never seen someone play like this, there are a couple players who have similar playstyles in some old trackmania games. Games that I had never played and hadn't seen before. Even though I am a higher level player than a lot of others, there is still so much I don't know about the game, including the history. To more experienced players, there is no suspicion. While the inputs are a bit unusual, they aren't quite fast enough to be questioned with regards to slow motion play. I think the another large factor for questioning the validity of the record was the low play time and recent starting time. Which just makes this even MORE impressive! Massive accomplishment and I can't wait to see what you do/create next!
Absolutely adored the editing in this video. Came across this randomly, but kept watching until the very end. Your storytelling and the editing on top of that are at an incredibly high level. Keep it up bud :)
What an insane video. The script, the editing, the efforts, you sir are a VISIONARY. It's only a matter of time till your name would be a synonym of a well deserved success!
2 things i gotta say here: 1st: GG! 2nd:You should give desert a shot on the older games or wait for it to happen on tm2020, this is the exact steering u want ;)
I love how you even went through the effort and put up a hand-cam :D Im a new player myself and you have my biggest respect for getting a world record. As a new player AT's are often out of reach and world records are just redicolous. So big gz! Does inspire me a little bit but im more like a "normal player" so im not in for the grind ;)
Awesome stuff! 👏🏻 This reminded me that I was supposed to hunt this track. Guess I will try to beat you when I have time :) (Zig-zag ending is pain though)
I wanna say just... wow. I got here randomly by youtube's algorithm but i didn't skip a single second. Your editing and storytelling style is much like Wirtual's. And take it as a compliment as he's one if not the best trackmania content creator. So great job, interesting, exciting, well edited video. You got a new subscriber :D And ggs for your first wr!
Being a newer player on controller on PS5, I see myself trying to steer in a similar way for some full speed or even fast tight turns, just slapping the stick and letting it slap back to a neutral state similar to keyboard for some precise fullspeed can help so I dont turn to much /oversteer and lose speed. With the snow car I tend to turn more smoothly but with the stadium car on wood ive done what you do as well to avoid turning to tightly and hitting the wall, glad to see some hand cam gameplay of controller players as it helps me make more sense of how players obtain good times on controller and the various methods that work for different players. Awesome video bro!
When I started out in Trackmaina, I also used quite quick and sharp movements of the analog stick just because I felt I have more control over the car. Over time, I did start getting more comfterble with smooth steering and overall, ive started to get better times. I think it is just a natural thing for newer people to have more snappy and sharp movements. Congrats of the WR, thats really cool. Ive never even gotten close to a WR of a map that has been played by more than 20 people, let along an official campaign track. Its really cool to see new players do well and gives me more motivation to keep going. GL with your TM experience and thanks for the great vid!
6:35 The thing about your steering input is funny cause that is how I did it too when I first started, my friends roasted me and said "just play on a KB if you are going steer like that". haha
Amazing Video! Definitetly never expected this type of video but I almost feel honored to be a part of it xD The fact that you're pretty new to the game makes this rather impressive to me. Before I got the record there was a wood acceleration update which basically reset all the wood records that start on wood surface. I only managed to get 7th before the update iirc, it was pretty hunted! After the update dropped I hunted it for a few hours and got it, it hurts that the one with a rather poopy start was "the record" but it was enough! A sub 22 was deemed to happen, and I'm glad to see someone did it so nobody else had to wasted their time doing so hahah. Congratulations on your achievement and record, perhaps I will come back to this map soon x)
really fascinated by these world record documentary kind of videos for Trackmania but none of the youtubers i watched make them anymore so it's great to come across your channel. Hope to see more content from you.
This video kept appearing in my recommended for the past 2 days, and I just now decided to watch it. Great video! I can't believe how little views this has for what it is
That is exactly why I love Trackmania, I have started playing today and I am already getting in some maps top 5%, which really really motivates me and also gives you for once a feeling of self validation, that you are capable of achieving something!
Hey i play like that too! Turning smoother feels much harder as I am pretty generally new to the game so your not actually alone in turning in tippy taps
Very well made video and a great time! Considering the History of the games, I totally get where the suspicion came from, but its great to see that you could clear your name! Great job!
Damn whats crazy is I literally started playing on February 1st and discovered this map a few days later and this shortcut wasn’t a thing yet. I knew there was probably a way to skip the snow car but being such a new player, I didn’t think I could pull it off. But seeing that you had just started 2 weeks prior is insane. Great runs man.
well for just having started with that game, getting a WR in it, having the compassion to putting all that time into it AND managing to get the first sub 22 as well with it........ i tip my Hat at you Sir, well done and Congratulations !!
9:29 ngl this is a how my hands look when plying also… more of a tap tap on the analog than a smooth motion…Great job man a wr after two weeks is insane!! Congrats
Awesome video. If i'm being pedantic I'd say that Skycrafter's A15 TMNF record was probably the most suspicious world record with so many dodgy things about it, but that doesn't matter. Amazing to see this one is legit 100%.
Dude, I’ve been playing off and on for years and racked up around 200 hours, this kind of precision without smooth steering is wild. Congrats! I myself have a very similar story about a map that was previously maxed out to the tenth, and I discovered a trick to save time, eventually gaining over 2 tenths on the previous WR.
I play Trackmania games for around 15 years (with controller) and my inputs are quite similar to yours. I never got good results when trying to smooth steer, so I sticked to tapping the analog stick. Congrats on the wr and cool video! :)
Very nicely put, watched it all the way thru not one moment where I was bored of listening or wasn't curious about what will happen after. 14 minutes passed like it was a 1 minute tiktok video
Used to be a relatively strong TM fullspeed player myself. I did the same thing - using “taps” on the controller stick instead of using smooth inputs. Some of this probably has to do with the fact I converted from KB to controller before leaving the game, as tapping is literally the only way to maintain speed slides on keyboard. Many other trackmania fullspeed players do the exact same thing. Not sure why people thought your inputs were suspicious…. They are clearly very different from the inputs observed in Riolu’s slowmo runs for example. -BlarryTM
Playing 8 hours a day for 2weeks right after beginning, is a crazy. U grinded like crazy and got the wr gz. Also incredible video, hoping to see more of them, maybe even wr 😅
Watching this without knowing you, or ever seeing any of your content... You sir, deserve so, so much more recognition and subscribers!!! You just got 1 more though ;)
I wasn't suspicious at all on the beginning of the video, bc various tm players that play on keyboard also have inputs that look like that on maps that have wood blocks (since on wood u gotta be smooth and have quick reflex, people usually flick a lot and between aks as well), but i was completely weirded out when i saw u doing that on controller, that's pretty cool. Ggs on the wr!
This reminds me of a wirtual video in so many ways, amazing video! A TM documentary style is so relaxing to watch. Even getting called out for potentially cheating is crazy
Great video. I do think it's funny how the video shows the crazy hours trackmania takes from its players. You say you're a total noob...with only 83 hours lol. But honestly its 100% true. I remember I told someone i considered myself to be a relative beginner, just getting to know the game really, and I think their head exploded a little when i told them i was "only" 300 or 400 hours deep.
Great video, your style is pretty unorthodox, but it seems to work for you! Nice time and congrats on your wr! Getting another pb after wanting to give up but persevering is immensely satisfying
Really enjoyed your storytelling here! I also play controller like this. I've spent so many years on keyboard that I can't stop the muscle memory of tapping. If it works, it work :)
You use a joystick like a keyboard player! That's actually so cool, congrats on getting so good so fast man, now take what you've learned and start setting more WRs!
congrats on your world record, incredibly impressive! i just wanted to comment that this kind of even feels like you are doing smoother keyboard inputs instead of rougher controller inputs lmao keep up the good work, I look forward to more of your content!
Cool video, well paced. I hope you are compelled to continue playing TM, especially after such a great achievement with so few hours invested! I've been playing for about 2 years and while I've consistently improved to around a div 10-12 range in most styles, WRs on official campaign tracks are still lightyears away. I hope you make more videos for TM in future like this.
A little different than what I normally make but I figured this was a story I couldn't pass up posting about, but don't worry! More projects are already currently in the works, haha
I have the same playtime as you and Im only top 500 in my region 😂 cant even get author medals on all season tracks and youre out here setting a world record? absolutely ridiculous, very good job you have potential 🔥
Kind of funny seeing someone get hackusations for the same type of jittery steering that I've been doing in other games for as far as I can remember haha. I'm somehow both surprised that it's something suspicious and something I guess most don't do? But also happy to see that I'm not the only one. Congrats on the WR! Not much of a trackmania player but I love watching trackmania WR content :)
Amazing video, I have never seen this kind of production quality from a channel with under 1M subs before, and you only have 2.5K! Just a small thing tho, after this video went up someone went and beat your record, so it's not actually the current World Record anymore. Keep it up bro!
Time and time again I am truly astonished by the sheer quality of your work. The effort, the charisma, and accomplishments never cease to amaze me. You are genuinely one of the greatest. You have my gratitude.
congrats on the record! I have about 300-400 hours across ubisoft and steam and can’t even get a champion medal. Also I somewhat recently switched from keyboard to controller and had a similar playstyle in the beginning, but now I tend to smoothsteer more and more to hit better SDs and such. And keep up the great editing it is 🤌🏻
Oh man, why did you make this video. I became addicted to this track since I saw this video 3 days ago. I'm kinda new to TM 2020, but I've played TMNF a lot before :) I've been lowering pb step by step and now I'm at 22.665 (top 30 world) but I'm not planning on stopping grinding! Thank you for this amazingly done video and thank you for motivating me playing more and grinding more. Great cut btw, feels great when you get it right. P.S. - I'm a kb player, so the fast inputs are kinda harder for me.
bro when i started whatching this video u had 991 subs, i subbed and went to your channel and saw that you got 1.01k subs. Grats! great content and deserved!
I will say, your inputs are definitely wild; not suspicious, just wild. Basically, you play like a keyboard player, but on a controller; which, indeed, I also have never seen before, thus the confusion imo :) Great record tho, and great video!
I like that at 6:47 he references Neko as being a smoother input, but neko is one of the players who actively cheated during the slow-mo cheat scandal lol
Such a great video. Everything about it is made so well. Huge congratulations!

In my opinion, questioning a legit player is one of the greatest compliments you can give. Exactly as you said, makes this even more impressive
The ghost of Riolu still haunts us doesn't it?
@@gregorywood5793 92BOB record incoming.
@@gregorywood5793 He wasn't the only cheater from that period, and there will always be cheaters. Nothing wrong with remaining vigilant.
reading this comment is like seeing napoleon comment on a french revolution video.
Now I get it, to drive a world record pace on a controller, you just have to have Parkinson's. Congrats on the world record dude!
The editing, storytelling and everything in this video is just great! Genuinly on of the best videos I have ever seen!
That’s amazing to hear! Thank you so much! :D
Some of text pop-ups were slightly excessive, but it doesn't affect anything. So yeah, great work without a doubt
Putting the track into night mood to depict the late-night grinding session was a nice touch
Absolutely adored the editing in this video. Came across this randomly, but kept watching until the very end. Your storytelling and the editing on top of that are at an incredibly high level. Keep it up bud :)
Hey DenDen
wow hi den! also agree, this video is a banger
As a fellow tapper, i congratulate you! Nice time dude!
What an insane video. The script, the editing, the efforts, you sir are a VISIONARY. It's only a matter of time till your name would be a synonym of a well deserved success!
WoWoWoWoWoWoW
The video was very good. I just wouldn’t call it visionary since it is quite obviously inspired by Wirtuals editing / story telling style.
2 things i gotta say here:
1st: GG!
2nd:You should give desert a shot on the older games or wait for it to happen on tm2020, this is the exact steering u want ;)

bruh I thought this was a Wirtual video from the thumbnail+title, great job on the video, pretty fun!!
Awesome video, really enjoyed it. Can't wait to see more records from you in the future :)
Dude, you have some serious skills in editing and story telling, the graphs and everything, the lengths you to to is remarkable, keep it up!
My man is combining analog controller with keyboard playstyle. What a beast.
Congrats, this video is really good. Perfect editing and story telling. Keep it up and good luck to you.
Playing 8 hours a day for 2weeks right after beginning, is a crazy.

very well put together! very impressive accomplishment with a playtime as low as 80h holy shit. gg and nt ma dude
Great video, your style is pretty unorthodox, but it seems to work for you! Nice time and congrats on your wr! Getting another pb after wanting to give up but persevering is immensely satisfying
Love this type of storytelling videos, very well done!

really nice editing, congrats on your wr!
Congrats! That is an awesome accomplishment!
Cool video! Really makes me wanna resub to TM club access haha. Congrats on the amazing accomplishment!
Such a nice work, storytelling and editing were on point. Great job I'm eager to your future work! Cheers
congrats on your world record, incredibly impressive!
i just wanted to comment that this kind of even feels like you are doing smoother keyboard inputs instead of rougher controller inputs lmao
keep up the good work, I look forward to more of your content!
Your voice is really soothing and I love the editing! Great video, keep it up! Definitely earned a sub.
I think this will be a testament to how you join the big leagues in trackmania, I love the underdog story especially with a playstyle not seen by many
Because one wr?
Cool video, well paced. I hope you are compelled to continue playing TM, especially after such a great achievement with so few hours invested! Your dedication to one map you enjoy is similar to a top level player. I hope you give the game some more time. Great video I really enjoyed it!
Well, Tokyo doing trackmania a trackmania video surprised me😊.
Welcome to this awesome community
A little different than what I normally make but I figured this was a story I couldn't pass up posting about, but don't worry! More projects are already currently in the works, haha
Tm community is so gay haha
Obviously congratz on the WR, but great video-making skills my man!
I have the same playtime as you and Im only top 500 in my region 😂 cant even get author medals on all season tracks and youre out here setting a world record? absolutely ridiculous, very good job you have potential 🔥

small youtuber, big sttory, dope edits, gotta sub, fire vid

Heyyyy! Awesome video Tokyo. Super well done. GG on WR!
Man I really called it that the introduction of the snow car & wood would create a new era of top players.
first time viewer, you didnt miss with this one. well done!
bro when i started whatching this video u had 991 subs, i subbed and went to your channel and saw that you got 1.01k subs. Grats! great content and deserved!
I will say, your inputs are definitely wild; not suspicious, just wild. Basically, you play like a keyboard player, but on a controller; which, indeed, I also have never seen before, thus the confusion imo :) Great record tho, and great video!
I can tell you put a lot of time into this video! congrats on the world record and keep it up!
i just love ur content for filming it and aswell working
Sick video! Its nice to see new players really get into this game!
You have such a good storytelling voice, congrats on the record!
gg man. very impressive to pull that off.
Awesome video, so well structured and I felt so invested throughout the video, congrats on your WR!
Thanks so much I appreciate your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed :D
fascinating video!
big GGs on the WR!

i am like 60 hours in an am pretty proud of my 20 author times in the curretn campaign.
a world record? you are a legend!
realllll good video dawg, lookin forward to seeing u beat some new wr's
Great storytelling, nico video!!
Such a good video and congrats on the record 👏
Thanks for uploading this vid. Great vid dude. Was nice to watch.
Amazing video and grats on such a cool achievement!
Welcome to content creation. After watching this, I have no doubt that you will do very, very well with it.
Very high-quality video, well done
This was awesome keep up the good stuff man hope there’s more trackmania stuff coming 🤞
I like that at 6:47 he references Neko as being a smoother input, but neko is one of the players who actively cheated during the slow-mo cheat scandal lol
Yeah but Neko was one of the first to admit to cheating and has been playing the game legit ever since.
prior to the recent wirtual video, i didn't even know neko was one of the players caught up in that situation lol
Nice video man. You definitely hit the algorithm somehow. Haven't heard of the channel before but it got suggested on my main page. Nice run and gg
The algorithm seems to actively promote videos that alot of effort is being put into
