You would think the Cricut people would have enough experience with their own machine to give us decent instructions for how this is done. But Amy, you did it for them! They should pay you!
Can we get a round of applause for you posting this tutorial? 🥳 Who knows how long it would have taken me to realize that the calibration option was hiding up there...or even if I would have realized that's what I needed to do to fix my problem!! This video is just one of a gazillion reasons that anyone with a Cricut should subscribe to this channel! I'll be calibrating today, thanks Amy!
Aww thank you so much Nicole! I'm just happy I was finally able to film this tutorial - I know so many people don't even know about the calibration option and it makes such a difference!!
This tutorial literally saved me from going crazy!! Making labels for lil champagne bottles and the calibration made them come out perfect. I am obsessed with all of your tutorials, Amy, thank you!
Amy...THANK YOU!! I had legit given up on printing my own stickers after purchasing a TON of artwork on Etsy for my planner. You just saved me so much money, I could kiss you!
Thank you so much. I've had my cricut maker for over a year now and still haven't used it because I'm afraid it wasn't going to cut right and I had no clue as what to do about it. This tutorial was so clear and easy to follow that I think I may be using my cricut before the weeks out. Take care. X
Thank you so much!! I waisted a whole sticker paper package trying to do all kinds of method to get my Cricut to cut perfectly ! And now they are perfect 🥰
Just to say I’m have watched so many videos and non of them explained it the way you have. I had no idea how the calibration worked and need some explanation of all the boxes and what it actually means. Thank you sooooo much
Great tutorial! I did my first Print then Cut today and knew I hadn't calibrated so I was expecting them to be off and boy, were they LOL I will now do the calibration so I can see the difference. Thanks again for a thorough tutorial. ❤
Thank you for this tutorial!! 👏🏼👏🏼 It came at the perfect time. I just made my own stickers for the first time and couldn’t understand why they were off center when I knew they didn’t look like that when I designed them. Lol. I calibrated my machine and now they look so much better.
This is just amazing lol I got a printer for Xmas and just recently took it out the box and this is the perfect video for me to watch. You’re always amazing Amy 😅❤
OMG thank you so much for doing a video tutorial on how to do the calibration. It took me almost 2 hours to figure it out then I came across your video and you saved me. Now I can start doing print and cut. ❤
Thanks, Amy! I got a Maker for Christmas, and I wasted so much paper already. I was wondering if there was something wrong with my machine. This has been so helpful. Do I need to do this if I switch printers?
@@AmyMakesThat apparently, it only needed calibration. 😆 I tried to print stickers numerous times and they all came out off-center. I didn't know that I needed to calibrate it, but now I do. Thanks for this video. I was just wondering if this is a one-time calibration or do I need to calibrate my maker every time I switch printers. ( I'm planning to buy a tank one because my Canon's pretty old.)
Not related to this video but do you have any tips on cutting small stuff on the cricut? I am having problems with the cricut cutting it out without losing pieces and weeding please help! ❤
I have an issue with my Maker right now where one of the rubber wheels moves out of place on my maker. It only happens after I first turn it on after non using it. I move the wheel back and it works fine until I turn it off. Maybe this will help with that. I feel like my machine is defective. I've had it for a few years and have used it quite a bit, but I don't use it all the time. It is so disappointing because it was so expensive and I want it to work correctly.
Hey Juli! Oh no :( you may have a faulty machine - I'd definitely reach out to Cricut customer service! They've helped me a handful of times when I had difficulty with my machines.
Mine doesn’t cut after scanning i get this message Print then cut error The machine cannot read the cut sensor I used regular paper like you said Please help me 😢
YES ME TOO I CANT FIND ANYONE WITH THE SAME ISSUE - i have tried to calibrate like 9 times and the print and cut is way off horizontally but is fine vertically
@@rubyetta2280 the way I solved it was to fully uninstall the program, delete all of the files and cache, then reinstall. Apparently updates can break and it cannot be fixed unless you fully wipe the software, reinstall, then calibrate from there.
If you want to make print then cut projects like stickers, yes! The Cricut does not print, it only cuts/engraves/etc materials. As for free stickers/designs a lot of font websites have freebies on there! Check out some of my font tutorials here on UA-cam 🥰
I've calibrated my circut about idk 20 times now and still don't get aligned cuts, any tips? I've tried making the room completely dark, covering the registration marks with and everything, for calibration I've done basic and fine
Cricut JUST did a huge update within their software, and one of their main concerns was PTC. I’d try again to see if there’s a difference. Your room should actually be well lit! If it’s too dark, this can affect the cuts. Also - what Cricut machine do you have and for how long?
@AmyMakesThat I have tried bright room, dark room, regular lighting etc but I have a cricut explore 3, I ran out of printer ink so haven't tried cutting the last few days but I'll have to give it a shot again, did you have to calibrate again after the update?
@@KhaosAgent I would try again for sure! I also calibrate every time before I do any PTC project, I notice the cuts are more accurate that way. (I batch create my PTC projects so I don’t have to calibrate a lot!) I’m so sorry you’re having difficulty with cutting though, I know how frustrating it can be!! I’d also try and reach out to Cricut - you may have a faulty machine and depending when you bought yours, they can swap it out for a new one.
Hi yes! When you're in the Cricut Design Space iOS app, tap on the account menu (image of a person in the upper left corner). Select "Print Then Cut Calibration." The Print Then Cut calibration window will appear and lead you to the first step, which is to print out the calibration sheet on your home printer. Hope this helps!
I would definitely reach out to Cricut customer service then, because calibrating should 100% fix it! Also make sure that you line up the sticker paper as straight and even as possible on your Cricut mat and you’re in a well-lit area 🥰
I’ve found that using the calibration pdf from the Cricut FAQs website is different from the one printed from DS. The PDF from the Cricut website calibrated my machine so much better.
I got tired of calbrating my maker. I purchased it on Facebook Marketplace. I calibrated 50 times, and still can't get it right. I got same number and letters several times. I started writing them down toward the end. I had two 12/K two 10/K, and three 11/L. I know I had more of the same, but I didn't write them down. Maybe that is the reason why the seller had it up for sale. If I can't calibrate it, it is useless.
Unfortunately the machine might've been faulty and the seller knew about it :( Try and contact Cricut customer service and see if they can help! Several people have had their machines replaced because of this problem.
@@AmyMakesThat Thanks for getting back to me. I went on a website, and they said to download the latest version before calibrating it. I had to update twice. After updating the calibration worked perfectly. I am so happy now. I thought I got a lemon, but no it is fine. I am new to all this, and totally forgot I had to update.

Does this method also just calibrate the blade? I have an Explore Air 2 and don’t have the option to just calibrate the blade.
I have an explore air and when I click on my initial like that there is not option to do that.... I cannot find calibration anywhere. Please help!

Great vid!
i can't believe how long it took the company to add in that calibration fix?! thankyou so much for showing us this lol
Is any canon pixma good for stickers and print vinyl
I've had a problem where calibration is accurate, it doesn't even need doing, but then trying to cut has it going way off.
