Loved him as Kang in Star Trek TOS. He was the best Klingon in the series. He brought a dimensionality to the Klingons that we didn’t really see until TNG.
I remember catching Michael Ansara in recent reruns of the old shows, including The Rifleman. Always a pleasant surprise. He did have an excellent voice, which is one of the ways to recognize his presence.
That’s really cool to know Rick. I never knew her husband was on the show multiple times. Thanks for also doing another I Dream of Jeanie video. Keep up the great work!
I'll always remember him as Commander Kang in the Star Trek episode "Day of the Dove"...arguably the best depiction of a Klingon in The Original Series.
This is such cool information 😎 makes each show even more endearing. Also I believe we saw a young Farrah Fawcett in the picture where women are surrounding the actor that was Barbara’s husband. Very cool clips!
Great video. I Dream of Jeannie was my favorite show when I was a kid. Also Bewitched. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and fun facts about all these wonderful shows. Thanks so much!
I liked Michael as the Blue Jinn. He played an amazing bad genie. The way they had ended the episode, left you wondering though. What happened to him after they disappeared into the bottle(Tony and Jeanie.) He is powerful. Could not believe that he came back from the ocean either. Sad about their son. Did not know that. He played an amazing Klingon too. Person you loved to hate most of the time. Good video, Rick. Take care.
Rick, you never cease to amaze me! This is top 10! Ansara is one of my favorite actors, and certainly underrated.. From Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Star Trek, and "Jeannie," his range was unsurpassed. I had no idea he was also in "The Ten Commandments!" I'll be looking for that one-- I think he might have been in the mud pit scene. I can hear his voice, I think. Almost to 100K! Great work, as always.
Always enjoy I Dream of Jeannie. I thought the shows with them married were just as good as the others. I wish the show had gone on and showed them as parents.
Same here! We wanted to know if the baby would have any Genie aspect to them or not. Loved then wedding episode, when doctor bellows snuck a camera in!
I remember being scared of the blue Djinn when I was a kid and seeing Michael Ansara on IDOJ. He had such a commanding presence. But those episodes were really great because we got to learn more about how Jeannie came to be in her bottle. Some independent film maker should do an amazing reimagining of IDOJ and do it as a prequel to the story, as a lead up to how she lands on Coco Beach. There is a lot more that can be developed within the Jeannie franchise but it's never been explored properly. The 1980s remakes were dreadful. Reese Witherspoon is now too old to play Jeannie but they should find a really good actress with comedic timing and remake the series for Netflix but in a totally modern way.
99.9k!!! Woo Hoo, 100k is minutes away, I'm so excited I want to go to the Tropicana & celebrate!!!! I was a big fan of Michael Ansara, he was a very versatile actor & yes he had a commanding voice. Thanks Rick for another great video 😷
I had recently watched those early episodes and still never knew that they were married and had (I think) his only child with her, out of all his three marriages. "I Dream of Jeannie" is still one of my favorite shows. 😄👍
He was a really cool character actor. I have seen him in so many different TV shows and movies. I like Barbara Eden she was really cool I didn't watch I Dream of Jeannie a lot but I always wanted to live in her bottle when I was younger because I thought that would be cool and of course I really wanted to have her outfit. And Major Nelson because he was a hunk. Haha In one of those pictures you were showing wasn't that Farrah Fawcett laughing and talking with someone at some kind of party it looks like Farrah Fawcett. Also many many years ago when I was a teenager my mom used to clean houses and apartments in Southern California where we live and one lady that she used to clean lived in Sherman Oaks California and guess who her neighbor was? Michael Ansara!!😁
Loved I dream of Jeannie. Michael also appeared in the original movie voyage to the bottom of the sea which also guest starred Barbara eden. Also guest appearance in sci fi series Babylon 5 and Star Trek deep space 9. Great actor. Very sad about their son through the ravages of drugs.
Wonderful video as always. I always enjoy history and facts about these classic shows; all I can say is that you've done it again...bravo. Mr. Ansara did a spectacular job as Mr. Freeze in my opinion and indeed he did a fabulous job in anything he was in. You and the other viewers may not know this but he reprised his role of Kang in Star Trek DS9 years later. Again, thank you for a great video keep up the great work.
She was actually pregnant with said handsome son while on I Dream of Jeannie! This is what Barbara Eden has referred to when she said that they "draped more veils and things" to conceal her pregnancy as well as they could for as long as they could!
They were also together in 'Voyage To the Bottom Of the Sea'! (the Feature Film... not the Series!) But I'll always remember him as Quarlo, from my all-time favorite episode of The Outer Limits, 'Solider'! (That episode was ONE of the reasons why Mr. Cameron had to add 'With acknowledgement to the works of Harlan Ellison' at the end of 'The Terminator'!)
I actually knew that Michael Ansara was her husband. I don't remember how I heard that (there was no internet in those days), but I do remember that I knew that the Blue Jin was her husband. I loved this show so much, I still liked the episodes where they were married. Hayden Rourke (Dr. Bellowes) used to come and visit my hometown in NJ. I saw him from afar once (it was a tiny town) but was too shy to ask him for his autograph. He was a handsome man. I never cared for the actress who played Mrs. Bellowes, her voice was like chalk on a blackboard for me and I thought she overacted.
Hayden Rorke and Emmaline Henry had great chemistry together in the final season. I think they had her do her voice that way so she would come off as high strung and uptight Mrs. Bellows
When I was little, I thought her husband was Yul Brynner, because I had read that her husband played the King in "The King and I", not knowing he was in a stage version and not the movie.😃 At 6:15 that's Farrah Fawcett
I knew it Rick. My parents told us when we watched it in the 60’s. I liked The Blue Gin the best too but liked them all. It was nice to see the steps in Hawaii. We were there during Hawaii 50’s hey day in the 70’s. I’m surprised you didn’t mention Farrah Fawcett in that clip. Great video! Thanks Rick!
Great video Rick, I didn’t know he was her husband at the time! I love old shows even though I’m only a teenager, could you make videos abt Bewitched? Also, you’re so so close to 100k!!
I like Mr Ansara he was an awesome actor love him in all the Jeannie 3 'episodes The Blue Djinn, King Kamehameha, and Biff Jellico But I called him the Blue Djinn in all the episodes and said when he was King Kamehameha and Biff Jellico he was the Blue Djinn being nice to Major Nelson I wish Mr Ansara would play Major Nelson because he was her real life husband though I love Larry Hagman her was very humous and I like imitating hin and also called him J R from Dallas from the show on Jeannie
In addition to playing Kang on Star Trek(in 3 separate series, no less! Kang was on DS9 & Voyager), he played the father of Lwaxana Troi's child(it's... a bit complicated) on DS9
Michael Ansara had that commanding presence. He was my favorite Klingon in Star Trek. I was sad to learn he suffered from Alzheimer's in his final years.
I too thought the Blue Jinn episode was the best one. I don't remember too much about the homewrecker one but yes that WAS Farrah Fawcett in the one scene!
Always enjoy your video essays, but I have to say that the title of this one is quite misleading. I was expecting a story about Barbara Eden somehow sneaking her husband into an episode with nobody knowing, rather than him being cast in in three credited roles in his wife's TV series, something that everybody involved with the show was obviously completely aware of...
He and Barbara suffered a miscarriage earlier in their marriage with Matthew being born the same year as the show started and a still birth a year after the show. Barbara was heart broken by all these losses , she enjoyed being a mother May be you could do an episode about how they hid pregnancy in shows during the 60's
Blue Djinn was the best of the three. Loved season 5 when Jeannie and Tony were married but that episode was weak. However the other episodes with Jeannie's sister are good!
Rick- interesting video. I remember him as the blue gin but not the other two episodes. Farrah fFawcett was in red standing next to him in the last one you showed. I knew they had a son who passed. so very sad. Did either Barbara or he have any other children with their other spouses? Blessings - Judith 🎵🎭
Spoiler alert* The last episode he was in, he plays a "ladies man" I love him as the Blue Gin. (I love the color too, so there's that) Love how Jeanie tricked him. Loved his "king role" And, Yes! What a voice!!!! Father & son were so handsome.
Michael Ansara, a very versatile actor. And what a great, distinctive voice!
Yes indeed, he was such a handsome man! It is a shame that Barbara Eden wanted to divorce him after losing their 2nd child!
I vividly remember the episodes he was in, I had no idea that was her husband though. Very sad about their son.
Even though they had been divorced for many years when Ansara passed away Barbara posted on her Facebook page what a decent person he was. Class.
Loved him as Kang in Star Trek TOS. He was the best Klingon in the series. He brought a dimensionality to the Klingons that we didn’t really see until TNG.
He was so underrated
That was his best role prior to Mr.Freeze on Batman: The Animated Series, IMO
Michael Ansara was always great! I love I Dream of Jeannie and have the whole series on DVD.
I remember catching Michael Ansara in recent reruns of the old shows, including The Rifleman. Always a pleasant surprise.
He did have an excellent voice, which is one of the ways to recognize his presence.
He was on of my favorites character actors in the 60’s and 70’s. When I saw he was staring in an episode I knew it was going to be good.
That’s really cool to know Rick. I never knew her husband was on the show multiple times. Thanks for also doing another I Dream of Jeanie video. Keep up the great work!
That’s Farrah Fawcett and minute mark 6:09!
Whole E-Cow... You are correct!
Surprised Rick didn't mention it. I noticed it too.
It sure is!
I'll always remember him as Commander Kang in the Star Trek episode "Day of the Dove"...arguably the best depiction of a Klingon in The Original Series.
He was my favorite Klingon.
I liked when he reprised his role as Kang in Deep Space Nine along with John Colicos as Kor and William Campbell as Koloth.
This is such cool information 😎 makes each show even more endearing. Also I believe we saw a young Farrah Fawcett in the picture where women are surrounding the actor that was Barbara’s husband. Very cool clips!
Yes I saw it too.
It certainly looks like her!
Yes it was her!
Great video. I Dream of Jeannie was my favorite show when I was a kid. Also Bewitched. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and fun facts about all these wonderful shows. Thanks so much!
Rick, he played Kane in Buck Roger in the 25 Century tv series. He did a great job as Mr. Freeze in Batman: TAS.
Glad you saw his work in Batman! Some of his greatest voice happened to be voice acting 🎭
Yay!!! I just bought the I Dream of Jeannie Collection & can't wait to see her husband act with her.

Same here! We wanted to know if the baby would have any Genie aspect to them or not. Loved then wedding episode, when doctor bellows snuck a camera in!
Wish it would have gone on for several more seasons
I remember Ansara being in a few movies where he had long hair, and whew! was he gorgeous
The antagonist Genie was Jeannie's sister. She kept plotting to drive her sister and Major Nelson apart because she wanted The Major for herself.
Thanks Rick. You have 99.9K subscribers.
He was also in Buck Rodgers as Killer Kane. Loved him in that role.
Syrian men have great voices.😊 99.9K!! Surreal! 👍👍
I have liked Michael Ansara ever since I saw him in The Comancheros.
99.9k!! So epic!! Almost there, my friend!!
You’re awesome Samuel! Let’s celebrate together when it comes
Today I hope.
Hi from Central Ontario Canada!
Awesome!
I didn’t realize they were married and that he was a Klingon too!
That was fun, thank you! 👏🏻😆
I remember being scared of the blue Djinn when I was a kid and seeing Michael Ansara

Now that you have 100,000 subscribers it is now right straight to 1,000,000. This is what I am rooting for.
99.9k!!! Woo Hoo, 100k is minutes away, I'm so excited I want to go to the Tropicana & celebrate!!!!
I was a big fan of Michael Ansara, he was a very versatile actor & yes he had a commanding voice. Thanks Rick for another great video 😷
He also appeared on Bewitched as Rufus the Red
He was a great actor in everything.he did.
Don't know how I missed this video.
I saw all of these. Thanks for the memory.🙂
Love Michael Ansara in everything he did.
Oh my goodness you are treading on the edge of 100,000! I’m so excited for you!!😃😃😃
Now we know why genie in Aladdin is blue.
BOOM!
@@ricknineg what do you think about jenie's sister?
Eden did a great job. She was so different in many ways and subtleties too.
@@ricknineg she always caused trouble. Have you seen the one, where major "wrecked" that couples car, and they faked injuries?
I haven’t that one yet
Cool video. The bluejin was my favorite with Michael Ansara.
In 'My Sister the Homewrecker ' is that Farrah Facett on his arm?
Great job as always Rick! Thank you🤔🤗❤
Rick, at the 6:17 mark, is that not Farah Fawcett, standing net to Michael?
I had recently watched those early episodes and still never knew that they were married and had (I think) his only child with her, out of all his three marriages. "I Dream of Jeannie" is still one of my favorite shows. 😄👍
Yes, i remember when he was on her show. I was a little girl, and i had a big crush on him.
SOOOOOOO CLOSE TO 100,000. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
6:17 That is a young Farrah Fawcett standing next to Michael Ansara.
He made an excellent Klingon! Nice presentation here Nick! I was with ya on Dave's channel last week!

(That episode was ONE of the reasons why Mr. Cameron had to add 'With acknowledgement to the works of Harlan Ellison' at the end of 'The Terminator'!)
One of the very few guest stars on the show that Larry Hagman wasn't a complete jerk to.
I actually knew that Michael Ansara was her husband. I don't remember how I heard that (there was no internet in those days), but I do remember that I knew that the Blue Jin was her husband. Ansara was a lucky bastard!
He was also on "Bewitched" as "Rufus The Red".
Barbara and Michael where in a movie together too. " Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea" in 1961.
It’s amazing how he actually looks like Mr Freeze with the blue skin originally. He could have played him on camera.
They isn’t show IDJ much in any free channels. I loved it as a child. Lots of info I never knew. BTW,My Mum resembles Barbara a lot.
If you have a computer or iPad you can open the IMDB app and play it for free. Only for the first season.
I'm just here to shout...99.9K SUBSCRIBERS!!! 🎉🎉🎉
I knew about the episodes. I first heard of Michael Ansara from the TV show "Broken Arrow,"
where he played the part of Cochise.
They both also starred in the 1961 movie version of "Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea"
They were so cool.
When I was little, I thought her husband was Yul Brynner, because I had read that her husband played the King in "The King and I", not knowing he was in a stage version and not the movie.😃
At 6:15 that's Farrah Fawcett
Wow! I didn't know that!
I LOVE Michael Ansari I ALWAYS THOUGHT HE WAS SO GOO LOOKING
Rick, I love your videos!
Remember those Draw My Life videos that were popular back in the day? Could you do a video like that for your fans?
I knew it Rick. My parents told us when we watched it in the 60’s. I liked The Blue Gin the best too but liked them all. It was nice to see the steps in Hawaii. We were there during Hawaii 50’s hey day in the 70’s. I’m surprised you didn’t mention Farrah Fawcett in that clip. Great video! Thanks Rick!

Also, you’re so so close to 100k!!
Almost at 100K subscribers! Ansara is an intriguing actor and never connected him with Barbara; good background information!
I remember they were both on the movie version of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.
The headline is misleading. She was on a talk show before this aired and said her husband was going to be on an upcoming episode.
Hey Rick! How many hundred more before the big 100,000????
Rick! You look like him!
😀
Wow! Farrah Fawcett at 6:14!

Michael Ansara did a really great Rockford Files,
playing a ex mobster in a season 2 episode called Joey Blue Eyes
Always liked him.
That's Farah Fawcett in the red dress at 6:14
I remember him in the third episode you mentioned but I don’t remember the first two... I’ll have to look them up and watch
Farah Fawcett! 6:15
I hadn't known the two of them were married. Very versitile, loved him in Star Trek, and the movie Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.
Very interesting
Sim amoooooo 🌹🌹🌹🌹
He had a great voice, was the perfect Blue Djinn! But I remember the King Kamehameha episode, and thought it was a very good story.
Total agreement
I was looking at the last episode you have a picture of Farrah fawcett in there too bad you didn't mention her.
I always put Easter eggs in my vids for everyone to find
I knew since I was a kid.
I too thought the Blue Jinn episode was the best one. I don't remember too much about the homewrecker one but yes that WAS Farrah Fawcett in the one scene!

How interesting, Barbara Eden's most famous role is that of an arab genie and in real life she was married to an arab! Never knew that!
Was that Farrah fawcett in one of those scenes with Michael ansara and the ladies goggling over him?
Spoiler alert* The last episode he was in, he plays a "ladies man" I love him as the Blue Gin. (I love the color too, so there's that) Love how Jeanie tricked him. Loved his "king role" And, Yes! What a voice!!!! Father & son were so handsome.
I think he was one of the luckiest men in the world at that time 😅.
I knew that was her husband many years ago
Lol, everyone knew.
I knew he was the Jinn
👍👍👍👍👍
She had her baby on the show as well. It just wasn't born yet.
