5 Visa Options if You Are 36 Years Old or Over and Can’t Qualify for a 485 Graduate Visa
In December 2023, the Australian government announced a new Migration Strategy, introducing significant changes to various visa programs, including the Graduate Visa.
The main change will be the reduction of the maximum eligible age from under 50 to 35 years or under, proposed to be implemented on July 1, 2024.
These reforms are set to impact many people currently studying in Australia, prospective students, and the education sector, as the substantial reduction in age eligibility could make Australia less attractive for those seeking study opportunities and a pathway to permanent residency.
So, if you are 36 years old or over and can’t qualify for a 485 Graduate Visa, here are 5 visa options you may be eligible to apply for:
Number 1: Use your existing experience and qualifications to get a positive skills assessment and apply for the skilled nominated visas 190 or 491.
Number 2: If you have two years of post-qualification experience, find an employer and apply for a 482 employed-sponsored work visa.
Number 3: If you do not have post-qualification experience, then apply for a 407 training visa for two years to gain that experience.
Number 4: Partner Visa if you have an Australian partner.
Number 5: Another Australian Student Visa if you can find a suitable course to undertake.
If you want to know if you are eligible to apply for one of these visas, please book an appointment: www.workvisalawyers.com.au/ar...

Nice suggestion for 190 or 491 but submitting the EOI does not mean that I granted bridge visa and for both above Visa in SA I should be employed by company right now as a full time employee and when I have 500 visa it is not possible

I want to be trained as agricultural workers or healthcare workers, or food processing workers or construction workers. And ready to be deported if I do not work as appointed occupation. My Question is : will they accept my payment by installment per-month, deducted from my salary in Australia, or they just want fresh money from my pocket ??

If my visa got refused, and it cost 1200$, will they refund my money ?? Or just exchange my 1200$ with a refusal paper ?
    Thank you.
