She has been in my heart since childhood and will be for the rest of my life. I listened to her in my homeland, I traveled with her song to different countries and came to the USA. I adore the music of the whole World and constantly discover new musicians and singers, but I have not found such people as Nina Simon and I hardly will find them. Nina is wonderful. Why are there no such wonderful people like Nina in the USA? She is a legend. I admire her! I have been trying for almost 10 years to find someone with the same strong energy and talent, to find something or someone who could at least somehow be like Nina Simone, but it is unlikely that it will ever be. She is alone and no one can compare with her!
Nina’s vocals are so unique and powerful, without elaborate trills and runs. I also really noticed the masterful bass playing hear that perfectly underlines the vocal. Masterclass.
When I thought I had nothing I eventually realized that I already had everything I needed. Even if I was homeless at the time with my shoes literally falling apart. I had everything because I learned how to smile and laugh through my struggle. I also learned how to be grateful for what I had. I'll never forget the best meal I've ever had. A free can of white hominy I found on a table in front of a church and some sweet peppers I found on the ground in Amish. Never will a meal be that satisfying. True hunger can make anything delicious.
I struggle every day. I'm diagnosed with schizophrenia. I just found that out a year ago. I didn't understand why people treated me the way they did. I was thirty-seven when I did some reading on the internet about forms of mental illness that effected people like me. I thought maybe I had Asperger's syndrome or Autism or something. I always thought I suffered from depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder. Ok, ya ya ya, I was abuse badly as a child. I was isolated. I didn't develop social skills and now I improvise in social situations. I can't be around a lot of people. I couldn't get a job or keep one. I was bullied in school, and harassed at work until they fired me because I was stupid or something. Homelessness is a bitch and you'll do anything to subvert reality. If you find a situation that offers a place to sleep at night or even a place to call home, It's only because someone wants to capitalize off of your misfortune. You have no freedom or liberty to better yourself in anyway unless it benefits those "generous heartwarming colorblind God-fearing people"
Love her and her message. I have always been sad and ashamed for what happened back then, and I hope it never happens again. Fortunately, none of my ancestors took part in that, but I hoped they stepped in to fix what was broken. God bless them that were affected.

She’s a Queen
I’m so very glad I have heard Nina in my life time.
Every time I listen to it, I just feel like one of those earrings dancing with her. Wish I was one of them right there.
Merci
This is my favorite song of all time, it has gotten me thru some hard times. Shout out to Nina Simone for reminding me of what I Do GOT!
Masterpiece ❤
Nina is as prolific to stoicism as Seneca. Case and point ❤
My girlfriend and I used to listen to Nina together all the time. Really fond memories 🤗
Philip Egan keep listening let the memories live on..!!!
Perfection!!!!! On repeat. Love her!!!!
Im in love with this song and performance 😍😍😍😍
Nina said I got Life !!! I can loose all and I still have God !!! I got my blood ❤️💪🏾
I grew up listening to her albums on repeat! Im so glad we have youtube now to sit and watch her perform as if we are in the audience.
Id give anything to get to be in the audience at one of her live shows back then. We dont have any artists like her now, and we never will again.
One of a kind miss Nina Simone. ❤
RIP Nina.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nina Simone has a beautiful singing voice
HAD -- she died in 2003.
This is the only version of the song I will listen to. Her blues riff on the piano in the beginning is hypnotic! As she is enthralling to watch.
same here ...i am 60 years older, grew up with eclectic popular music exposure but only found this video after watching Nina Simone biography. Said to someone today, if a performance this powerful was released today it would break the internet
Great person, woman and musician.
God bless Nina Simone. ❤😢
I respect this Lady 💯 🙌
I got my freedom...I got my life ... epic song
She got poetry.......Amazing song that applies to these days with all the homeless on the sides of the roads
My boyfriend who I love, was the one who recommended this song to me
and I fell in love!🥺❤️✨✨
I've got chills 🙏❤️
I come here every once in a while. That's the beauty of this song.
Ive got life...❤️❤️❤️
great song!!! She's so amaizing
This song makes me choke and tear up every time I hear it. Such a powerful song. An amazing artist who was very troubled even with her success
This is a great song for everyone. Even if you dont have much. You have everything you need
True...you got everything 👌🏿
I can relate to this lady😢
So much pain and stress in my life
It is before my time, but I'm here 🎉
She has been in my heart since childhood and will be for the rest of my life.
What an amazing artist. What a woman. Thanks Miz Simone. X
Nina Simone was my late father's favorite singer. He was a man with a good taste for music.
Nina’s vocals are so unique and powerful, without elaborate trills and runs. I also really noticed the masterful bass playing hear that perfectly underlines the vocal. Masterclass.
thank you so much !! this is beautiful and Lord, thank you for sharing this. 7/21/22, 857 PM, est. 💜💜💙💙💚💚
I just found that
out a year ago. I didn't understand why people treated me the way they
did. I was thirty-seven when I did some reading on the internet about
forms of mental illness that effected people like me. I thought maybe
I had Asperger's syndrome or Autism or something. I always thought
I suffered from depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder. Ok, ya ya
ya, I was abuse badly as a child. I was isolated. I didn't develop social
skills and now I improvise in social situations. I can't be around a lot of
people. I couldn't get a job or keep one. I was bullied in school, and harassed
at work until they fired me because I was stupid or something. Homelessness
is a bitch and you'll do anything to subvert reality. If you find a situation that
offers a place to sleep at night or even a place to call home, It's only because
someone wants to capitalize off of your misfortune. You have no freedom
or liberty to better yourself in anyway unless it benefits those "generous
heartwarming colorblind God-fearing people"
There's no way you can forget the crap you've been through. I really hope that you can manage your life now that you know. Wishing you the very best!
I can relate to most of this and sadly was expecting a happy twist for you at the end of the comment
Stay strong my man. Watch her bio on Netflix.
Hi David.
I hope you are doing okay.
I am also homeless and mentally ill.
Much love and empathy from me to you.
Love her and her message. I have always been sad and ashamed for what happened back then, and I hope it never happens again. Fortunately, none of my ancestors took part in that, but I hoped they stepped in to fix what was broken. God bless them that were affected.
Still listening on April 2022?
This is a masterpiece 🖤
And I'm crying
Apart from the fact that she is lying a great lot in this song, I still love her and this song.
I don't think any lyrics, soul, style, message, and intense emotion can rival what is captured here by miss Nina Simone. Makes me shiver inside Everytime. I just sit here shaking my head, thinking to myself, how can anyone be this much of a gem?
Shouts out to that awesome back up vocalist with the tambourine ❤❤❤❤❤And God Bless the soul of Nina Simone and the entire Band❤❤❤ You all were very necessary in teaching people about straight up humanity ❤️ Thank you and I love you
This is MOAMS, the mother of all modern songs.
Simone's composition opened so many doors for the future generations and this is one of them.
If you ask for the beginnings of POP and it's significant in our current times, this is one of them.
Perfeito demais!! Ela cantando, tocando, a expressão dela!!!
pheww!!!! The Voice
This was my life story growing up in the 70s. We could only afford Disney world every other year . Just blessed now as an adult with children we're able to get there anually
