Hi! Nice job, please advice on Mini Cooper S R53 supercharger service. Do I need to lubricate the supercharger rotors/ blades when servicing. Well I did dismantle everything and washed all gears with petrol including rotors, now after reassembly I noticed some clunking noise coming from the top or around supercharge areas when idling?!
We don't do anything with the rotors apart from examine them for damage. We then check the nose and gear areas to make sure these are in good condition. With regards to the clunking they always have a little clunk to them but it shouldn't be loud! I hope this helps, Miriam xx
@@ModAMiniGarage Many thanks for your response, just a quick one; My mini S R53 temperature gauge seems confusing, it drops when I go on a highway like going over 100 km/h, it goes towards the cold side of the bar around lower quarter part. Hey, great video, this is a job I'd like to tackle next summer (no room to work in a flat carpark currently). I'm hoping to service the supercharger and also upgrade the pulley and intercooler. I've tried to make a note of the bits that you broke / found perished and needed to replace but if you've got time could you comment a little list of bits that will likely need replacing due to breaking on removal or have perished over a 20 year 100k mile life time?
