This is amazing! I spent years as an apprentice applying with a rag. I’ve recently got back into sanding and refinishing and have a huge staining job coming up and to be fair I wasn’t looking forward to it. You’ve just saved me so much time, and now I’m looking forward to it. Thank you so much for sharing!
Smart one there. My question is quite not related to the subject but has to do with the sander you are using. I want to know if it splashes the dust while sanding the wooden floor please. Your sander hasn't got a vacuum connected to trap the dust so how do you trap the saw dust? Thank you
Put some finish nails through the plastic driver wheel. And then cut the finish nails so they are a little bit longer than the plastic “hooks” This finish nails will keep the carpet from slipping. You can also use short screws.
yea probably...I told my dad if I had to put stain on my hands and knees like he used to back in the day, there’s no way I would be doing this for a living lol
I’m doing my first floor and that’s what caught my eye. All this sanding so u don’t see scratches and then ur gonna step in it. Maybe they consider ‘leaving ur footprint’ on a job
Michael M yeah i commented before finishing the video like an idiot lol. Showed my boss this and he was finally willing to give the buffer method a try. My knees thank this youtuber
everything is fine, be more careful with the cable, because for you to cause yourself a misfortune just a few seconds, the cable never gets around the neck, remember that the best hunter escapes the hare .. if the cable gets in your way, winding it over your shoulder with your right hand ..
Stepping into it with your shoes was not necessary. You need a system of applying that would have avoided that. The rest of your work was absolutely beautiful.

I've been using my random orbital buffer to apply the stain. Is there any setbacks or reasons I shouldn't use a random orbital for this? Thank you!
Thank you David looks great how long do you have to wait for the stain to dry to apply urethane water base
Great video and technique! What machine is this?
Thanks!
Thanks I've tried putting stains with buffer what a difference
Thank you David can you please tell me where I can buy that carpet from.
Thank you.
What type of carpet you used? Like the name?
What the brand of that Stain you use?
What stain did you use please? Water-based? Such an even finish, well done
Looks like oil base to me
Nice work! No blotchiness
Good Information!
What color stain is this ?
Why didnt you painter tape the skirting ?i assume you are putting down quad beading yeah?or painting
Yes, quarter round gets installed before the final coat.
I've seen this method used before. What are the drawbacks?
The stain tends to be a little lighter but the time and labor more than makes up for it
What do you put on your buffer? My uncle tried this and said the rug would come out.
Put some finish nails through the plastic driver wheel. And then cut the finish nails so they are a little bit longer than the plastic “hooks”

In another video, they used spray adhesive to stick carpet to buffer pad.
Do you use new pads for the next section?
Same pads throughout the whole house.
What kind of pads them is??
What stain is that
What brand and colour stain did you use
Dave Barry Duraseal English chestnut.
What speed is your buffer,?is it a bona flxisand?
It is one of bonas older models not sure which one exactly. Regular buffer speed I believe 175 rpm.
Bro I’m telling you Romanians came up with this idea man. We do the same thing too 😜
yea probably...I told my dad if I had to put stain on my hands and knees like he used to back in the day, there’s no way I would be doing this for a living lol
@@davdip0121 dude we used to apply stain by hand always and my back and knees are all screwed up so we started doing it like this. Good method
If my guys do like that ( step into stained areas). They will get let go the next day. We have been using buffers for stain since 1998. :)
It doesnt take much from a foot print to show later under the finish.

Work smarter not harder 💪 👍
Do you still wipe off
No that is what he is doing on the second buffing

For someone who gets awesome results, shouldn’t matter if he steps on it or not. The blending of edger and drum/belt sanding is perfect in this case.
Victoria Munoz tie plastic bags over your shoes to eliminate dirt & foot prints, a chance to recycle
So you apply and wipe edges first?
Oh my goodness !! That looks awful
