This work is incredibly hard and this guy makes it look easy. A true pro.
Great job. Richard’s a real pro and hoping people pay him more for his quick and experienced high quality hand.
This guy is a pro. Great job.
OMG! I loved this video. He's awesome at what he does.
A true craftsman. Very nice work!!!
obviously floors were sanded first and I was hoping you had a video for that. Floors look great and this and your other videos showed me what I need to do to refinish my floors.
Love the video! Exactly what I’m doing this morning. Thumbs up!
Love how Richard is humble
Absolutely beautiful. You’re very talented.
Beautiful work!! 😍😍
look at this guy, look at how he does. looks good man good job
Good choice in color dye. I'd hire him for sure !
you have a gift. great job!
You did an amazing job
Awesome work!
Great job ya'll!! Beautiful!
Respect for you staining alone is hard..good job...
Like the floor after, and the accents!
The best by far.
so Glad to see this!...this is how i did mine..& everybody said i was nuts..but they admitted it looked fantastic when done...lol..took months to get my knees back to normal though...but..i don't care...my floors make me smile :) ...i used medium shade stain, antique oak, on these very old antique oak floors...when doing them again..i think i will use dark, like yours...that is just looking..stunning old world..
Do you HAVE to sand the floors before you stain them???
Same here.Had the older gold red hardwood skinny slat floor.Used Minwax Special Walnut 224 and it looked BOSS! Updated, covered a few stains, overall shiny results.
@@monickalynn4365 OMG..Thank You!..i will find this & redo the floors soon as April & all it's rain is over..nothing dries when the air itself is always wet
@@reeree0966 yes ma’am. Especially if there is a shine/sheen, the stain needs something to adhere to. Do a patch test and you’ll see.
Did he sand the floor first or can you stain overtop of the laminated wood?
Great video. Some people are saying the guy's accent is russian but I can assure you that is 100% brazilian accent.
Yep, he does sound like Portuguese is his first language. 👍
Amazing work!!!
Great video!!!
I’m afraid for [staining of] those gorgeous baseboards.
just mask them off
@@davidgoodell6387 what does that mean
@@zoulzopan it means use painters tape over the bottom of the baseboard
Richard isn't afraid to get stain all them baseboards.
Oak is beautiful.. absolutely no need to stain in the first place.. min wax is the worst stain on the market.
What is the name of what he using. Dark oak. I need his advice . My floors are old . He doing an excellent job. Love it. What rags he use.
Great job, I wish I saw this video Friday before I dud my floors. I have streaks on the floor. No, this is an excellent job. job
Richard rocked those floors!! those knees tho! lol
I painted a portion of my hardwood floor, but it's too dark than the existing one. How do I lighten the color to match with the rest floor?? Thanks
Looks amazing. What kind of applicator did you use on the end of the pole?
Love it. I'm going to use his technique when I do mine.
Hi can I have a contact information for this guy. I need my floors done please . Amazing !
great job but i see some of it on the skirting , how do you take that off? paint over it?
Can you mop and clean it after like normal laminate floor ?
I need me some towers 😂😂
Great video I love the color!
For finish... What are you going to apply 3 coats of???? I heard water based poly... what brand?????
Hi! What do he use to apply the color?
"once again richard use the knees on the stain, no knee pads" hilarious!!!
Very good job
Is it laminate floor? Do you sand it before?
Do you need to bleach the wooden floor before painting
Great job
I love how light those floors were already
can we change from walnut color to red oak?
Well, nice job. How many coats? Was there a finish sealer? To be continued,.....
using the same technic but we are 2 one that stain and one that remove the excess ! Best way to stain .. i tryied with polisher but it aint going well .
After you stain... do you put sanding sealer on and then polyurethane?
Once you get all of the buffing done it is easy. The prep work is hard
I have a question. After applying stain for how long u have to wait till its ready to decorate and walk on it.? Thats one and secondly. How do you generally clean stained floor? With Floor cleaner or just wet rag or what? Thanks😊
Give the stain 12 hours to dry. Put 2-3 coats of polyurethane over it.. dark stain is difficult to work with.. tends to look blotchy in natural light.
So after the stain he doesn’t need to add nothing else ? Other channels specifically say to ad the shine.
That honestly looks really fun - physically exhausting but fun
What type of Poly did you use on this dark color???
Great instructional video. I would just add vinyl gloves and shoe covers, knee pads, and a mask.
And preparation of the adjacent areas, application on the same direction, etc, etc...
Is that laminate flooring?
Hi your floor looks amazing I would just like to know if this was laminated wood flooring
It not. it’s red oak hard wood
Is this only for real wood flooring or can it be applied to vinyl flooring?
what's the best way to get an even water pop on the floor? I'll be refinishing 1200 ft of red oak in a couple of weeks
bucket and rag will work fine. dont leave puddles
Thanks, found an awesome website called uptownfloors. amazing videos and even one on water popping.
KoolKatJazz what's water popping??
Where does guy work now
Can you do this if you have vinyl flooring as well please?
What is he useing? A sponge or a brush?
Fernandinho tocando no background. Bom trabalho
What type of brushes is he using
Hard worker 👏🏾👏🏾💪🏾
how is he keeping the stain from getting on the baseboard when he applies it ...
They mentioned in the video they are putting in shoe molding
What did you do about the excess stain on your skirting boards. Does it clean off the paint?
He said he was putting shoe molding. so he wasn't worried about getting it on the baseboards.
Is it hard wood flooring or laminate?
Was the old flooring laminate or real oak wood flooring?
how much do u charge per sq ft
Imagine how fast this guy would be if he realized he was allowed to move the bucket.
What brand of stain was used?
I like the natural wood look as well as the dark stain
which color did u use ?
Did he condition previously?
can I sand the finish off laminate wood floors? and then stain? and seal?
No
did you have to sand those floors first? and which minwax stain type did you use?
yes hun you always have to sand floor..to get all the imperfections out .. figured id answer your ?
Can you stain over top of a varnushed floor?
He said it was 3 days of prep in the video
Was this done on laminate floor or engineered oak? I want to stain my floor but they're laminate
I'm pretty sure you can't stain laminate flooring you have to rip it out and stain the real wood underneath or just put in New laminate flooring the color you want
hey can i hire you?
Why didn't you tape the baseboard?
Thanks. This is how the pros do it.
Nice good job
Will this work on laminate “wood” flooring?
No
Dude you are a Bad Ass !!!!
Hi. Is this laminate flooring which is been stained like this? Because if so I was given to understand that it needed to be keyed/scuffed first for the stain to be able to penetrate that glossy top.
????? I'm so confused
I hired a person to stain wood floors with Varathane Dark Walnut stain(Home Depot). That person applied the stain but did not wipe the excess stain. Now it is more than 2 weeks and floor is still sticky. The floor color is not even. There are visible patches. I am wondering how to fix this?
Start over.
@@mikemcgrath6150
Update.
Floor redone. Removed the entire sticky surface and sand it to bare wood. Then applied the stain again. It looks great.
@@BlackSmith222 good. I've been a wood floor contractor for 20 years.
my floor has lots of dirt stains i dont know from where....if my floor is that clean i would just apply the final coat
WoW!
Absolute G
He done good but when you varnish its always good to go with the grain
Looks great! No need to tape the molding? He must be that good, huh.
Did you see the other rooms? He fricking destroyed the trim.
B-Doug46 Yes, my sarcasm was not as on-point in this comment.
The homeowners will not be as happy about the floors as the cameraman. lol
@@BeardedBart Hey, hey, I don't think it was Richard who destroyed the trim, I think it was his dunk brother and Richard had to step in to get it right.
Take care of your knees buddy! Use globes use mask, safety first
No kidding! You're going to kill your brain cells
So many techniques on how to apply stain!!! i like how u use tht broom effect to apply the stain...But wow to rag off thts just a mission LOL!!! Then when the camera guy panned around the house and saw all the skirting boards covered in stain!!!!! Ummmm??? 15yrs experience alright wow! Nice video tho mate!
Badasss going to do my floor probably not that good but gonna give it a try loool
what brush is he using or is it a sponge?
its a lambswool applicator
also a good quality stain brush
fire in their first day of work
How do you clean all the stain off the beautiful white baseboard?
There is going to be shoe modeling to cover it up.
Shoe modeling sounds sexy. :)
After you put a coat of poly down, you can use a rag with paint thinner to clean it.
Which might make the white come off too if it's not water based..
If they are fresh and not getting painted run masking tape around the bottom give it a nice clean line
He didnt use tape to protect the skirting. The other room is messy, big cleaning up
you should do my place!
that guy does it like I did in the late 80s
buffing it on is the only way
Mucho color con aplicador
Richard is definitely getting stain on the trim...
No tape to protect.. no knee pads? No face protection? No wonder man die before woman.. beast..
@@cucharlie2006 Stain fumes are terrible. Definitely needs a respirator. Knee pads are optional.
where can I find the paint
paint shop
Josh White Hmm... This is some kind of joke? cuz i don't get it... coment "paint shop" is for carlos rojas.
I'm carpenter and only paint that i can't find is UV curable, we don't have inporter in Serbia...
