Rubber Ducky Enlightenment Principle (Unity focused)

  • One of the principles I use in place of SOLID in Unity is the Rubber Ducky Enlightenment Principle. Its geared specifically to deal with the challenges that can be imposed by Single Responsibility Principle. SRP is great, but more often than not, I've seen its application used to make projects and classes harder to organize and introduce vast quantities of communication styles to deal with code separation. I wanted to share the philosophy I use when SRP actually seems to work. I.e. SRP tells you when to split, but it doesn't tell you when to stop, and quite frankly, I think its separation when you read the book by Robert C Martin, though excellent and useful, divides it by domain purpose and not ease of development.
