/ docjazz On his way back home to Australia after an eventful visit to Occupied Palestine, Robert Martin stopped by in the UAE to meet Doc Jazz. In this interview he tells us of his experiences with the hospitality and courage of the Palestinians, and with his good friend, the Palestinian photographer Hamdi Abu Rahma. He describes how confronting it was to experience the Israeli incursions and their terror and violence that is constantly being unleashed upon the population of the village Bil'in, a beacon of peaceful popular resistance against Zionist occupation.

Interesting and why didn't he visit Israel....when rockets rain down...in any other country that you are informed by the police or military that you are trespassing you move you don't defiantly say no....especially when the Palestinians send out suicide bombers. He wasn't on the Israeli side of the wall; just because they occupy the country illegally and throw their weight around doesn't mean an order to "go away, you're not welcome here", is lawful; it is not, just as their long occupation and continuing theft of Palestinian property is illegal.
It is a maddening, outrageous, obscene situation; not just sad, and the aggressor, as normal, is the powerful state using overwhelming modern military might to wipe out and steal the land from a native population; not at all a new story; the only thing new about it is the technique of justification of genocide by an appeal to the concept of a "Jewish State", and the conflation of enemies the state created with haters of Jews.
But of course, the state isn't a Jew, doesn't represent all Jews, and behaves in a similar, brutal manner to other powerful states, such as their sponsor; the US, which thanks to idiots like you, continues to take my money, and use it to "defend Israel", which is what they call it when Israel slaughters innocents, steals Palestinian land, and continues to maintain an illegal military occupation on land that isn't theirs.
For a sycophant of Israel to whine about someone "trespassing" when the Israeli military flex their muscle in occupied Palestinian territory, when said person was welcomed by the Palestinians on their own land is pretty rich. It was obviously the Israelis that were overstepping as they have steadily since before statehood, not the guest of Palestinians that welcomed the visitor whose life the Israeli thugs then threatened merely for being with Palestinians.
