My Grandmother and I watched Gun Smoke and Bonanza together every week for a decade. Best 10 years of my life and the best person I ever knew. Grandmas are real special.
Chester, or Dennis Weaver who plays chester, is absolutely surreally wonderful in Touch of Evil. I mean, I've never seen anything like it. Completely nutto. Brilliantly so. There's a shot of him as the motel night man looking in a window, close up, that defies discription...it comes and goes, and well, the whole film is amazing. But that look he gives, which you see from inside the windows from him outside, is totally gonzo. Welles was a very modern, hip director to the end.
It depends on what you mean by "got together". On the radio series Kitty was a prostitute and Matt was a regular customer. He wanted more, but her job was between them. On the TV series they hinted that Kitty was a prostitue but later said that she wasn't. Also on the Tv series, Kitty presses for a relationship with Matt but he felt his job was too dangerous.
Chester : It kind of feels like somebody stuck a butcher knife in there and just turned the handle on me. Dr. Galen 'Doc' Adams : I'll give you some free advice. Stop puttin' all that salt pork in your stomach and those dried beans, and get some fresh greens in there. That's what you need. And stay out of saloons. Chester: It don't hurt that bad. 🤣Chester to Matt: When was the last time you had a mess of greens? I mean, a real good mess of greens?
It seems like they added more layers to her wardrobe, made her look unnecessarily frumpy... not to mention the outfits were hideous in the color episodes. She looked perfect here tho
I have heard a lot of the radio shows... it was more dark than the tv show... like a film noir on the radio.. as the years went by the TV show weakened the dark aspects esp when it went to color. But even so it is a great series with memorable characters.
Would would think Kitty would want NOTHING to do with men on her off hours! I think the reason she didn't like Matt going out and killing all those outlaws is they were good costumers.
This is why we have problems with women in emergency fields. Such as police and fire depts. Okay granted this show was 100% fictional. However we train our girls to "get in touch with thrir feelings". Like somehow this condition will solve problems all on it's own. Hint to girls and women, Your feelings don't matter to the world. Least of all crooks. Conversely boys are taught to "keep a stiff upper lip". Or to "suck it up". The male experience is much different between the way our girls are trained. The bad side of this for eomen is they grow up thinking that they are important all by themselves. That everyone is here to satisfy and support them. WRONG! Conversely our boys are iften denied approval. Then we condition them to learn to both accept and dispense violence. This commonly occurs during organized sports but esp in football and boxing. It's no mistake that our armed firces recruiters seek out the boys who played high school football. Indeed what we're unconsciously teaching boys in football as well as other sports that "to be a man you must accept violence used against you". That ypur self wirth is contingent upon your ability to "take one for the team".
Love Gunsmoke...watch it every day!!

Love Gunsmoke and the cast on for over 20 years love the show❤❤❤
It’s always refreshing to see Matt doing paper work; you rarely see it in westerns
Greatest show ever. Watched it as a kid because Dad loved it, now I can't get enough.
Me too!😂 The more I watch it the more James Aurness sounds like my Dad. I lost my Dad the same year we lost James Aurness 😢
Miss Kitty was worth every penny.
Poor Miss Kitty always dressed to the nines to get Matt and never did
I'll see if I can upload a radio episode about Matt and Kitty. I remeber there was one where he asked her out.

It's not what, it's why.
Cute scene!!
There was another episode where Kitty said she like her steaks well done!

Florina Welcome I read the matt Dillon was played by Charlie Bassett
Una de mis series favoritas me gustaría oírla en español como en la tele gracias
Kitty is really thin in this early Gunsmoke episode. She fills out and matures in the later Fetus Hagen era shows.
Yeah she was a looker back then.
It seems like they added more layers to her wardrobe, made her look unnecessarily frumpy... not to mention the outfits were hideous in the color episodes. She looked perfect here tho
Here kitty kitty, come git dinner.
