At first I thought the rock would be great until a few have mentioned Christopher Judge who's been kratos. And I think that he coukd bring the same imposing presence as the comic counterpart. He could bring the "testosterone", yes, but in a way that's appropriate for the mcu and especially the character of Apocalypse specifically. The worst thing is for Apocalypse to behave like a wrestler. That would simply be a mockery in multiple ways. The rock can act but the rock cannot act like the rock in wrestling. Christopher Judge is one of the few actors who could give us Apocalypse like we love him. There simply has to be more to the character, and I don't feel like the rock can give that kind of depth. Just compare their careers. In Judge I see an experienced actor who can give proper depth to an imposing character.

I'm sorry but after hearing some of the news about The Rock lately, If I were Feige especially after the Jonathan Majors controversy I'd want to avoid any more bad PR and avoid the possibility of workplace drama between co-stars especially if its younger and unkown actors that The Rock simply may not have a mutual respect for just keeping it 100% with you💯🤷♀🤷♀

@@jstnsmutek I guess a few weeks ago The Rock was filming a movie for amazon and it was leaked to the press that this movie had spent 50 million dollars in one day due to unnecessary reshoots because he would not show up anywhere close to the scheduled filming time and they had to separately film the Rocks scenes and his other co-stars scenes, which would then prompt more staff and coworkers who worked with Dwayne Johnson in the past to share similar stories of his diva like attitude and lazy work ethic on set. He apparently pisses in water bottles on set and has his crew deal with it and he doesnt like when staff on set talks to him or even gives him eye contact (similar to Ellen). Me personally I've known way before this slight controversy that The Rock isnt very pleasant to be around.
I've always pictured Apocalypse as A Relentless Anti-Hero & Anti-Villain Character. Sometimes he Wins and sometimes he Loses. Dwayne Johnson (AKA) The ROCK, May NOT be that "Oscar-winning Contender" guy but I can picture him as a potential candidate to be APOCALYPSE, if he's willing to make a commitment... BUT what do I know we have to wait and see?!

I like it but the fine line is making sure he follows the tone the director sets for him to avoid a Mr Freeze Schwarzenegger cheesy chill punchline debacle because he's trying to be cool guy and stand out amongst the rest of the cast as the big star instead of just embodying the character perfectly
Rock is a physical actor...he needs some physicality because of his size, which is why he did ok with the Fast series, also does well with action movies...Mr. Sinister, Apocalypse, Hercules, and others.

He looks the part but and I could live with it. I think a CGI take, similar to Thanos, is the way to go. Also he NEEDS that voice modulation. Apocalypse needs that almost mechanical voice. (At least why his celestial armor is on.)

Only way this works is the way it would’ve worked with Thanos. has to be a CGI type character. No matter what the rock wears, he is still the rock. But if he does do the CGI type character, I think it would work out very well.
