Nice clean lens for introducing you into the anamoprhic world. I'd prefer if they had way more character to them. At least these are 1.8 and not 1.33
The footage coming from the 35mm definitely looks cleaner and less "mumps" than the 50mm. The uneven squeeze factor and softness of the image definitely turned me off from Great Joy initially, but this lens shows promise. I'm still (in)patiently waiting for my 50mm Nanomorph... supply chain delays be damned! Argh!
First I think your footage looks great. Nice work! As for lens, when I shoot anamorphic I tend to almost always crop in to a 16:9 image. So the lens needs to have enough character so that without the black bars, it still looks anamorphic. I’m not seeing much anamorphic character with these lenses. I have to assume it’s because they are quite slow. Personally, I’m more partial to the Atlas Mercury lenses, which I preordered at launch. Those lenses are faster and while the squeeze is only 1.5x and they are only T2.2, they look way more anamorphic.
Thanks! After comparing multiple sets now, the anamorphic characteristics generally don't show as strongly on the 35mm lenses. But between the ones I have tested this one had the most pleasing and clean oval bokeh whereas the other 35mm had oddly shaped bokeh balls (banana or hexagon shape)

Ok, we need an anamorphic shoot out. Everybody is comparing those 3 in their mind and no video out there yet. Also, when is the video travel trip happening?! Da warte ich schon ewig drauf.

was this shot on red? I didn't think it was possible to make red footage look this bad, think its the horrific grade. Optics look nice though for the price.
Thanks for the review. 50mm lens has the amber and blue version, but 35mm doesn't have the lens flare option anymore, it will have a different lens flare depending on the color of the light cource.
Is it more like a silver/neutral flare? I love how your lens doesn't over flare but it's so subtle

Hey there, maybe someone can help me out. Got some problems with my red Komodo.
It’s randomly shutting down while running on Batteries (using the Canon 955). It shuts down and automatically starting again after 5 seconds but then there’s a red light at the On/Off Button . I have to restart again … Any Ideas ?
