Yes, I'd say that it's balanced because to get those radical benefits you need to have three players give up Action, be in formation, be similarly equipped, be martials... Spellcasters get combo casting, and lots of things they can do against a group of martials in formation.

That is intersting. Using your Actions as Reaction and Monster's strike provoking multiple Reactions draining Actions from Players sounds fun. "Do I use my Reation or save it for later?" Wont parry be also usefull even if it wont make Hit in to a Miss? Because of the 5 degrees of success so parry adding 5 PD would lower the dmg at least?
Thank you for your comment. Another interesting thing with DC20 is that you are not limited to just 1 reaction. You are correct that with a by 5 system, that +5 PD will at the least help prevent 1 damage. Sometimes it will cause a miss. Even more important is for a character with PDR (Physical Damage Reduction) because turning a heavy hit into a normal hit will likely cause 0 damage. Thank you for Rolling With Us! We have a game that is similar to LMoP. Its called “Problems in Phandalin.” Its actually more expansive than LMoP. My wife and I are going to co-DM it. She has compiled all the modules in the Phandalin area. She is going to run the story beats, and I am going to run the DC20 combat/skill challenge side of things.
