    Picked mine up a couple of weeks back... sensational camera!!! My Leica M11P is being a little neglected currently... 😅 I disagree with the comment about not being useful for street photography. I used Hasselblads back in the film era shooting weddings. No AF back then and no problem. Handling is a breeze & focus on the 907X is a soda. I'd choose this over the X2D every time... Actually, I did!

      Hi, same here! I have an older Leica M240, and I was thinking about buying a newer one. But then this came up, and I’m pretty blown away with the results. My leica isn’t also the fastest camera. Many missed shots for not having AF. Also had a doubt about 907X or the X2D, but since I had a 500C/M and large format 4x5 camera, it became my first choice. So happy with it

    Great video! I love how you chase down the guy with the chair and didn’t give up. The resulting photo is excellent!

    Seems like a perfect camera if you're more into the fishing type of street photography.

    Really interesting, bravo as usal. My favourites: the guy with the chair in front of the display; the man and the Samsung poster, the lady with white gown ad shoes in the camera box

    Great pics. I live in Brussels and photographed those places a zillion times (except the Cinquantenaire arcade where you placed the dancer), but very seldom captured street activity as well as you did. Enjoyed very much seeing those landmarks through someone else's eyes. As you say, it is counterintuitive to use this particular camera (and format) for this type of shooting, and you'd have a much easier time with, say, a GRIII or a Q3. Regarding this particular hassy: it looks gorgeous but when you think about it, its square form factor is based on 120 film and 6x6 from the hip framing requirements, which (unfortunately) does not exist in sensor form unless you crop an already reduced pseudo MF surface. Beyond catering for nostalgic rich photographers, the real selling point of this camera is to provide not only a super high quality digital combo but also a back that allows old 500C cameras and lenses to shoot digitally at 100MP. In other words, you can switch from film to high res digital and back to film and/or easily test and replicate your exposure settings. It is nice to have that capability in the field (formal wedding portraits for example). For all other applications, one is better off with the X2D, as you point out. I cannot afford any of that beautiful Hassy gear though, but would love to own a trio with X2D, 907x+CFV 100v, 500C....

      Thanks a lot :) I am going constantly back to the places you have mentioned, this is my playground (maybe a bit too much and I need to explore other places in Brussels) True about the 500C old cameras, I have not touched upon that subject (as there are too many videos talking about that and I don't own any hasselblad old lenses or film gear). Dunno about the trio but I would definitely be happy with a X2D :)) Thank you for watching ! Cheers !

    This “black box “ is amazing , clearly more suitable to use in a studio , with a tripod near, but still it can be used everywhere with some limitations , but yeah : you can do street with it ,and the image quality and the colors are amazing ! Well done !!! ❤
    Ps waiting for Hasselblad Monochrom😂 :)

    Excellent images and excellent image quality, my friend. I know you had lusted over the Q2M for years, but I find your mastery to be in colour, be it stills or video photography. Don't forget your XE-4 😉.

    Beautiful video, camera and images. I have a Bronica film camera and rarely use it out side my home except in the garden. It still looks cumbersome to carry although you seem to adapt to it. I too would go for the X2d much easer to use and carry and will get one as soon as I win the Euro millions lol! The ballet shots were stunning, thanks for sharing.

      Thanks for watching Victor and the kind words. This is indeed a wonderful camera and it would pair very nice with your Bronica ;) but not that practical as the X2D :). Cheers and see you soon !

    Ergonomics makes all the difference, Octavian. New boxes take time to get used to - doesn’t look all that bulky or heavy. Medium format 100Meg puts a drain on editing computer. What memory cards does the camera take? Does the cam touch screen do “touch to focus and shoot”?
    17, shopper and 12, heart my faves - human expressions. The chair chase was “pure Octavian”.😊
    No food breaks in this one - can’t get the Hasselblad messy, I suppose😊. Cheers!

    I agree with you that X2D is more practical and useable for different kind of scenarios, but this camera is like a piece of art. If I have it (not to mention the price) I probably put it on the shelf and watch it everyday:)

      Hi Mutlu :) I fully agree with you, this camera is a piece of art :). I find it very enjoyable to shoot. If one day I would afford one, I will put it to work, it is fun to shoot with it :D

    Hasselblad basically made a light weight waist level camera that doesn’t need the old 500 series bodies so it’s portable and you don’t need tripod. It’s its own segment. Not like a slr/ mirrorless type of way of shooting. More like the old 500 or Rollies that people liked shooting with. I think that complaining that it’s not X2D is unfair for its design. It isn’t built to be a modern X2D. It’s built for the slower paced contemplative photographer. Maybe even a studio type of photography or street photography

    Could be a option if you have an old film Hasselblad then you can use the sensor on it.

    We live in great times so that this type of product even gets made; even if for few potential customers.
    If i'm not mistaken the idea is to combine that back with the old V Hasselblad camera's as well.

    • @OctavianCarare
      @OctavianCarare  7 місяців тому +1

      True :) can't agree more with your words. You can combine it, definitely but you can shoot some very nice pictures without combining :) Thanks for watching ! :) cheers !

    “Collectors camera” that’s pretty derogatory. I think the single most important factor in a camera is ergonomics and how those affect the photographer. I don’t care if it’s a pinhole camera made from or a Phase One.
    I’ve preferred waist level shooting for over 20 years over any camera you hold to your eye. I have plenty experience with cameras like the FX3 or Zf but it’s not the same at all like using a proper waist level camera like the 907x or a Rolleiflex.
    Not everything needs to be a Nikon Z9 or Canon R3. But sure you do you and keep getting turned on by specs.

    This camera has the value of being able to work with an old 500 hassel and old lenses (which are much better than the new ones). That's all if you don't use it, you don't have to buy it.

    • @OctavianCarare
      @OctavianCarare  7 місяців тому

      Fully agree with you. But you can buy and use it stand alone as well, not necessarily with an older back or older lenses. So you can use it as you wish :) that's why is modular :D

    • @314LA
      @314LA 7 місяців тому

      @@OctavianCarare Yes it is possible. You can even hammer nails)) But then it’s better to buy x2d for street photography (although I still shoot with Leica m).

    Hasselblad have never produced any camera for street photography.
