i like how the ship came out. I really like these sorts of videos. The flow of thought, and the explanation for your reasoning for different bits of the ship.

Me: "Oh, okay."
I like the idea that once you get to survival, you have at least 15 minutes to design your starter ship with the bare essentials, makes each one unique and gives you motivation to plan ahead and only change things once you start since if you stop to second guess, you may mess something up

@@LunarKolony I know right, I think it would really show how good someone is when they are scrambling to get materials for thing's they forgot or overlooked, and how they make them, I can only imagine how panicked some will be once they are nearing the 1-minute mark and have to make sure things are made right

Don't know if you have used it before but AQD-builders skybox is great for lighting in creative builds no need to change sun position
Good video and verry nice ship it has only 1 flaw it has 1 gyro i dont think it wil turn wel. But it is a starter ship so it coud pass.

Turrets don't reset when you change the color, but they DO reset if you change the material texture.

I’m not gonna lie, I’m lovin the ship and where I’m at in the vid currently…it reminds me of a goldfish
Like your vids, have learned a lot. Would this ship need an air vent in the cabin? I would assume that once the airlock was closed it would be limited oxygen. Or is it enough as is?

The first Large Grid ship I built was inspired by your light frigate video.
The orange one? I did the same, but made it a little wider for more thrusters and added a railgun in the front of the nose
@@ImThe5thKing Yeah the orange one, I made one a bit longer and taller putting a hanger in the front bit and production below decks
How do you change which blueprints are used for a starter ship? Is it by a mod or is there some setting deep within the scary depths of "advanced settings"?

LK, my i ask for an advice? What to do when your other faction members want to build boring 0 dlc OP ships, lika gun spam bricks and flying platform with AI drones but you want to build pretty semi practical ships with all DLCs?
Build what you want and screw anyone who has a problem with it
Sounds like you'll have to convince them or go it alone
If you make it look like your factions style while still being a relatively armed ship then maybe they’ll change to your design philosophy

i like the way it turned out! my only comment would be to find a way to plumb hydrogen thrusters into the ship since most (myself for certain) people don’t have the materials to use ion thrusters in the beginning of their survival world
Sorry I think the title is a bit misleading, my idea for this ship is one you would SPAWN in a bit like the current blue pod

I gotta get off my butt and release my mod to let people select from a bunch of starter ships instead of just one for each area. I think survival folks will get a kick out of it.

@@LunarKolony soo you run down a conv line from the back to the front. And that middle interior isle is just getting ripped off because you do need Isys's inv sorter. oh and isys's inv sorter needs at least 4 cargo containers to work properly. When you making hydro then its best to start your designs backwards. pipes and internal comps first then the armors added after.
What's the problem with the turrets moving? It makes it more authentic

Can you make a sexy cheap little cargo shuttle to move resources/components etc from planets to space base and vice versa?
You’d need lots of large / medium cargo containers if you wanna ferry lotsa ores to an in production outpost or some backwater automated drone factory
Wait what ... you can mirror your builds and even switch blocks? ... how, since when?
Lovely ship yet again! Just throwing an idea out there but a black-paintjob ""stealth"" ship would be hot.
Something cool you can do is, make a "stealth field" using a projector. Can be used to help hide a cave entrance or ship depending how creative you're feeling

Would totally use that as a blueprint in a survival play. I've got but one question though, will it have batts or just the engine? I guess with a basic assembler you could put your own in though.

Name suggestion: Build-A-Boat
This game gives so many building possibilities that even experienced players do not know what to build. I say this, because of the enormous possibilities and if someone ever builds a perfect ship that cannot be destroyed, it will probably be the absolute finish line. Although I think that this will never happen because of 24/7 hours, players build military ships and usually return to the base destroyed. What a game. I honestly don't get it. - Play time 15h. I can not build even a simple mining ship xD

The military race in this game probably surpasses human efforts on the ground.
Factions build military ships to protect uranium deposits or run raids on nearby enemy faction bases

I like the look of this and I wonder how would the interior look/function if you added interior blocks like in the Hanuman by Benokt ? Evolve the starter though gaining character over time and add interior etc.
Best thing to do with anything for a starter ship, is to take the pieces from what you get now, and "only" use what you get. Otherwise is gives an advantage. I personally think the starting ships you currently get have more than enough components to do whatever you want to do, but maybe that's just me.
The current space start has only 9 small ion thrusters, I would suggest you go to small grid if you want it to be larger.
I also find starting with the things you need to pipe through is a better way of designing ships. So cargo, survival, conveyors and such. Then build around it.
