Its been about a 4 year process trying to register the trademark successfully in all markets, but the rebrand in the UK happened earlier this year. 6+ months ago. It just depends how much stock outlets have before the new labels take effect. But all the major wholesalers have been rolling it out since the Summer. Think I had my first "Planteray" 3 Stars back at Easter.👍️
Steve, as always, I thoroughly enjoy each and every episode, and this one is no exception! Your insight into what makes a great cocktail is greatly appreciated and carries a lot of weight with many in your audience. I am in the U.S., (North Carolina) and was surprised to see that the Plantation brand has modified their name. The bottles being sold locally here still carry the Plantation label. I suppose political correctness has made inroads into the spirits industry along with everything else. Thank you for all that you do and I look forward to your next episode. All the best to you!! 👍🍹
Yup. Fully agree on the "pc" part. To quote John Cleese: "political correctness is just fascism posing as manners". Thank God that BS is about to be discarded at long last, at least in the US 🥂
It's a Global name change and happened earlier this year...after 4 years of trying to secure Trademarks for the name in ALL markets. But obvs it just depends how quickly the products sell and how much old stock there is in your neck of the woods. Here in the UK, its been Planteray for a good few months now at least. 6ish + probably.
@@markusfreund6961 Yes sir, don't need the company I buy my rum from telling me how to think and live my life. It's time to be rid of the leftist foolishness.
Not a fan of guava…..my wife is from Ecuador and loves Guava, though. Her family likes making empanadas with guava paste and farmers cheese--wayyyy too sweet for me, everyone else loves them….
@@mr-vet oh i see i see, i myself also live north of guayaquil but in my case its closer to 3-4 hours in a place called manta, did you meet your wife in ecuador or elsewhere?

@ Ed is currently in discussions with an importer / distributor. I bought a couple of bottles back from the US. They are so good!
