I somehow stumbled upon your channel some years ago. I really like to hear your point of view regarding world politics. I think your observations are rational and make a lot of sense. With the media bias we have today (either right/left, doesn't matter) we really need some more of these sound analysis, and focus on the signal rather than noise. (BTW I'm an Israeli, not even an American.)
@@DEMCAD can’t say globally but among the people i hang with daily (mostly liberals) it is pretty low i would say. Of course today idf managed to release four hostages and for a moment it feels wonderful but apart from that things are not looking good. Frankly i would have moved away somewhere else if i could. You can all disagree with me of course and no innocent child, woman or man deserves to die, but this war is the result of the brutal and savage assault of terrorists backed by a large majority of the world’s people. So it is all very frustrating. There’s so much ignorance among all those who pretend to take a side on this war. Let me mention just two anecdotes: 1. There are many arabs that live in Israel peacefully, take part in the democracy, and enjoy the relatively high standard of living. There are no jews tat live under the Palestinian authority or and they were expelled from most arab countries. Whenever this state will fall all these arabs (which are actually Palestinians descendants that were not hostile during the war of 48) this region known historically as Palestine will resemble other arab-muslim countries like syria. That is, Israeli arabs will be in danger exactly like the people that are tired of war in Syria. So, when you arabs serve in the idf this shouldn’t be of a surprise. The fall of Israel is as devastating idea for them as for us. Regarding the innocent arab population in the gaza strip - they are victims of hamas in a very similar way to israelis (jews/arabs). If hamas would care just a bit about their people they would release the hostages. They don’t care. 2. We often hear how Israel is an Imperialist state and the gaza strip is a large prison. Just take a look at the map. It is just the opposite. Israel borders with the sea, hostile states (Lebanon, syria and plo) and fragile arab states (egypt and jordan). Our connection to the free world is just through the airport and perhaps seaports. The gaza strip has a border also with egypt. The west bank has a border with jordan. So the situation is the exact opposite. Sorry for this rather long reply. I hope that innocent people from both sides will win this war. This is part of what I see as the result of bad reporting by the media of what is happening. Of course this can happen to independent journalists as well but at least there’s a broader diversity there, which eventually will naturally collapse to few truth seeking individuals.
