Why not? Crash Bandicoot and Spyro are the property of Xbox/Microsoft, Snake/Big Boss is pretty much buried by Konami, Nathan Drake’s storyline is over, and that leaves Aloy and Kratos. I love some God of war, but I personally give Aloy the head nod at this point 😅.

I'll just quickly chip in as a middle-aged gamer (who's been gaming for 40 years or so) that Aloy is without doubt one of the very, very best-written characters I've seen in all my gaming, and I am absolutely blown away by the incredible character animation in Forbidden West.
The absolutely tiny, subtle, nuanced facial gestures that the animators captured - astonishing stuff. The design isn't photorealistic, but some of the minute facial gestures I've seen have smashed the 'uncanny valley' feel.
I've been very struck by how unique the fashions, face paints, bases etc all look too - I've genuinely never seen characters or design like I've seen here, which are even stronger than in the first game.
But the strength of the writing, the actors' performances, the design - stellar stuff all round, despite a few clunky control issues and occasional graphical bugs, but very forgivable.
In short, well done all round, and particularly to the actress - and the writers, and tech wizards behind the scenes - for making Aloy such a credible, believable and likeable character. (Also, a special nod in the very same vein to all those behind Varl, who runs a close second for being a great, believable character.)
A bit off target, but as a keen photographer and nature lover in real life, the photo mode - and adjustable time of day again - Muah! Chef's kiss, for the icing on the cake (again)!
Thanks for a super sequel and a great game and PS5 showcase, Guerilla! Now, about that threequel... ;-)
I love that when she's in the boss fight, she's way more Tiny Tina than Aloy :D
When the PC version comes out, someone should mod the game to replace all of Aloy's serious combat grunts with Ashly's lighthearted gamer grunts.
That would be cool but I kind of like those grunts, it reminds me a lot of the old school first two Tomb Raider games. Yes, I'm that old 😋

We love you Ashly and everyone involved in the project! Only played a few hours so far (can't find time on weekdays so weekends it is) but I am loving the game so far. What a surreal and incredible feeling to be playing as Aloy again!

Just played both games for the first time back to back, spend over 160 hrs over six months (long play). Feel so close to the characters, Ashly is incredible as Aloy, she feels like a real person to me. Can't wait for some DLC for Forbidden West and/or Zero Dawn re-make. 🤞
I've been playing HFW almost non-stop since release and it's already living up to my expectations. Even with a decent amount of bugs and glitches it still feels like a 10/10 to me. And Ashly's perfomance remains top-tier of course.

I think it's very very very goddamn good. The visuals, story, characters and combat (especially with motion aiming) are wonderful, though I'm playing on Very Hard so it's brutal. Ashly nails every line.
I'm also playing Very Hard and I think it's so unbalanced in comparison to Zero Dawn's Very Hard. It's a nice challenge anyway.
I love seeing actors actually play the game . they shopw how dedicated they are to it. and to hear aloy play the game is just awesome haha

This game is a masterpiece. I killed my first Tremortusk today. It was so hard and fun at the same time. I died a lot and loved every second of it. Needing to use the environment and different weapons with elemental stats to weaken it was a blast figure out. I got nearly 36 hours already and I only just destroyed the Bulwark.

I like how Tiny Tina shines through miss Burch when she gets excited xD Other than that: it's Aloyception! Love it! The game is amazing, I am a big fan of Zero Dawn and I am very happy seeing how wonderful Forbidden West is. I spent 20 hours of my weekend with it and now I continue for couple of hours in the evenings. Oh, it's such an amazing world to explore and the story kicks me out of my shoes once again! I love the Horizon world!

Its really incredible how cool this is! I love playing horizon zero dawn and horizon frozen wilds and I completed every quest (literally everything) and I love it! I still need to wait until I can buy a ps5 to play horizon forbidden west, because I think my old ps4 can’t handle it XD you all did a great job! Greetings from the Netherlands :)

Trust me, you won't be disappointed with the performance of it on PS4! It looks just absolutely gorgeous and the gameplay is smooth as well.

I've been having a blast ( new sub for this channel. Need to be updated with that new VR game ) Forbidden West has got to be the most detailed / beautiful open world game I've ever seen in my life . Not even sure how y'all managed to do this in a span of around 5 years ( 2 of the years being in a hard time with the pandemic) story is getting me hooked in , gameplay is so vast and smoother than Zero Dawn, shooting feels even more amazing too especially with the Dualsense, so many machines which I love , so many varied locations and I'm not the photo mode type of person as much but holy did I get lost in the world for days with the photo mode lol time went by too fast the last 4 days off from work. Only in the first location of the Forbidden West where the Utaru are at in Plainsong etc . It's my GOTY so far and will for sure be a GOTY contender for 2022 . Still so much to do in this game .

Guerrilla
have set a new standard for open world games with this one tbh. The world feels so alive and rewarding to explore. I'm 15 hours in and spent alot of time in taverns playing machine strike and done fleshed out sidequests that feel like they matter to the overal narrative. This is an outstanding achievement in game design, and I've barely touched the storyline.
50h later im done with this Masterpiece of Game. The work of the Studio for this Game is outstanding! Thank You!
Hey Guerilla devs., your Horizon Forbidden West is a masterpiece! I played 40 hours so far and I'm addicted to it! I am visiting my parents right now and unable to play for two days and I already show signs of withdrawal... :))) The only thing I can think about is that I can't wait to go back and get lost in the world you created... Thank you for giving us such a great game!
Well done! Have only just moved on from that first mission myself. Yeah, my first Slitherfang was a ‘hoot’. Irony - I did actually get to shoot the electric tail off, but I was so busy avoiding getting killed after that, that it died before I had a chance to use the ‘tail’ as a weapon! Wonderful game, that I am going to take my time with.
For the current generation this game has set a new standard, and Aloy is ❤️

So cool to see Ashly’s fun personality! I barely recognized her voice because she’s so much more cheery than Aloy! What a great actress.

Great job on the voice acting and NPC interaction. It's perhaps the best I've experienced. My only recommendations for Horizon 3 are to:
1. Further improve melee combat so that combos are more varied and accomplished more than largely changing when you space the R1 attack
2. Include the main villains/characters in the game more. I would have liked to see/hear much more from Regalla and Sylens
3. Have more unsuspecting events and enemy encounters in areas throughout the map, to help add anticipation of what you may stumble upon when exploring.
4. Have a way to block and perry enemy attacks. I thought the sheildwing would have been able to be used as a shield to block
Perfection …. There’s no other way to describe it I love this game and the first one….. incredible… great voice cast… graphics that make your eyes pop and a superb… superb adventure…. Playing on ps 5 is heaven☺❤ love it

50 hours in and I have got to stop bouncing from side quest to side quest and just advance the main missions already but I just can't. I love this game so much. The Tiny Tina ish character in the spear quest early in the game made me laugh.
Lets make a petition for all the sounds Ashley is making in this video to be put into the game for when Alloy fights machines.

As a player, I really expected more variety of mountable machines Plus being able to use their weapons while riding them (laser, fire, electricity,...).
You could make the game wayy more fun by letting us ride the Fire Fanghorne, Ravager, Scrapers etc and shoot with their arsenal to engage in robotic fights with other machines.
(Except for some missions/Areas to not disrupt the balance of the game)
I really hope you add these features in a DLC or update.

I love horizon zero dawn and forbidden west, hopefully you make 3 more sequels, 3. where aloy and co defends the earth, 4. where aloy and co go to space and hunt down you know who 5. where aloy and co finds you know who and fight one last battle resulting in, truce, integration, or complete destruction of the enemy. then make another series with aloys son and daughters exploring space

After gushing over the Slitherfang in the trailers & GIFs, seeing hints of it coiling around and then having to FIGHT it for the first time pretty early on in the game made me scared REAL quick too.
Varl's beard showed up & delivered! He looks like a guarding, middle-aged man with it, so it seems to be a way to illustrate his point for being there🤣. Ashly, you did great because the gameplay is much more smooth, responsive, & AWESOME than we are ALL used to & yet you were successfully Silent Striking Burrowers, shooting off conmponents, setting traps, dodging the Slitherfang, completing the mission in what sounds like a quick gameplay, you're rocking on!
We loved your gameplay & hearing your thoughts on seeing & experiencing your contribution & everyone else's contribution to Aloy & to this game for the first time in all it's gorgeousness & glory! (And we loved the little tidbit you gave of Aloy's reaction to sweaty hands when the Boss is rearing up for its final attacks!👏🤣🎉)
We would like to hear how you're progressing through the game & your thoughts after you're done with the game if that's possible! I am absolutely LOVING this game so far & I'm still very far from the Forbidden West! I'm even trying to Platinum it on my 1st playthrough (a big challenge for someone who tends to forget the main story of an open world if I don't get back to it quickly, but the loading screen recaps are doing a great job of reminding me what I need to do for the main quest)! I'm finally happy with a game! It gets a little buggy at times, but that's what I expect when you push a game to the console's limits. Besides that little bit of bugs, this game is absolutely stunning and amazing! I wish more games were like this one. The cauldrons blow my mind and I haven't said wow this much since The last of us 2.

Hey idk where else to write this but im having big problems with detachable items just disappearring. Either they get pushed under the terrain or pinging so far away you can find them or maybe they despawm idk. It doesnt say anywhere that items despawn after 1 minute, and its really frustrating working really hard to shoot off a rare part on a super hard machine and its just gone. Someone should look into it. Id say its most likely parts are getting launched super far away since things tend to scatter anyway.

Love this game. I began playing it the day after its release and couldn't stop until this past Wednesday when I had enough of my PS4 controller acting up and causing Aloy to die over and over. Not sure why but if I'm running in a certain direction or standing still hiding from the Tenakth Rebels or machines or even flying somewhere on my Sunwing, my controller would simply stop responding to the buttons I push and my character would be doing the last thing I was doing. And if I was aiming a weapon when it did that, it wouldn't fire or anything. If anyone has any idea what is going on and have any tips, I ask for your input. It's a cheap generic PS4 controller I bought last year so I suspect it's cheap design is causing the malfunction and/or the controller is crapping out on me. And if that's the case, I'm going to bite the bullet on Thursday and order a brand new Sony brand PS4 controller.
I took me 42 hours to platinum on PS4 version, now moving to the PS5 version to just explore and clear up unknowns. Best game of 2022, game of the years is going to be hard to pick.
