@@moats5495 No actually. It's the studio not wanting to pay the actors. Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth were supposed to star in Star Trek 4 together as a father and son reunion time travel story, but both actors are so popular and in demand that when the studio tried to lowball and underpay them along with the rest of the cast, they both pulled back leading to a halt in production.
I love the fact Stephen thinks you can get whiter than Scottish. Not possible. White is a Scottish _tan_ - in winter we’re blue. We also have the highest percentage of ginger hair in the world, so go figure.
StewedJock Yes! A cardinal sin. As a Scot I too am looking forward to this, though I thought it was a Netflix series rather than a film? A bit confused now.
That was an interesting way of including the story. It didn't answered the question, but I wasn't disappointed. He clearly wanted to get to something more important than that question, which was the central story of the work he just got finished. I'm impressed by Stephen Colbert letting him say all that and then still wrapping it well back up to funny.

@JamieLan2011 To be fair, he is in a (presumably pretty cold) lake in that scene they reference. Which might lead to a bit of a size misrepresentation.
Robert the Bruce’s heart is at Melrose Abbey in the Scottish Borders and it’s definitely worth a visit Having worked on the film Chris did a really good job and to be fair the rest of the Scottish people in the film are Scottish cause pretty much 90% of the extras were cast in Scotland. I think they needed a really high profile actor to get the film going Definitely better than brave heart as it was actually shot in Scotland and it is more historically accurate or as accurate as Hollywood could get
Apart from the last battle. Even if it was crazy enough the Kings of each army actually fought each other on the battlefield it is ridiculous to suggest The Bruce would have let Edward just get up and walk away. He'd have killed him or most likely have took him prisoner. I loved the film but that one part pissed me off
About the choping and burying in several places: it was common at the times. Battlefield were so chaotics, travel was so long and complicated it was impossible to bring back someone's body to be buried on his land. So people used to boil it, sometimes saving the head, heart or a limb. The biggest part was buried on site, others were brought back to family or in case of kings and saint, to place of worship (most of the time cathedrals). This way the soul could enter heaven, the spirit could go back to his loved on and whatever blessing the relique could grant was accessible to believers.
Ad Max mate, I agree with you in the respect that I also feel that the Scottish accent is absolutely beautiful. The problem for me is, I grew up in Melbourne, Australia, so even though I don't speak with a Steve Irwin style accent, Scottish is not my natural speaking voice. I meant no disrespect.
Having to do it in an accent seems highly disrespectful for a school assignment. I dont mean disrespectful by you but by the teacher who assigned that. It is just unnecessary for a school assignment.
Brian H I completely agree with you. I haven't been able to even think about reading Macbeth since then, and it's taken me nearly 10 years to get to the point where I can try to imitate a Scottish accent without cringing, and that's with some major support from family and close friends. Fyi, my family is predominantly Irish and Scottish in heritage, my best friend is a stage actor in Melbourne (of Celtic heritage himself), and I never do the accent in any way that could be considered offensive.
