One thing I really love/appreciate about Sina, aside from her obvious passion and talent, is that unlike a lot of other (mostly female) drummers on UA-cam, she DOESN'T keep looking at the camera and smiling or trying to "look pretty" every few seconds. In fact, she really doesn't look at the camera at all. She just does what a musician is supposed to do: she gets lost in the music and just PLAYS. And I love and respect the hell out of that. For Sina, it's about the music, period. Rock on, Miss Sina. Rock on.
Looking at the camera is about showmanship. It has nothing to do with actually playing the instrument. It's more about putting on a show that makes the performance more enjoyable.
Lars Ulrich May have been the creator, but Sina is the finisher. She is a better drummer than Lars. So much so, I prefer her Metallica covers over the originals.
think how proud Lars must be. he has once upon a time been a part of the origin of this song- tuned by guitar playing, vocals, bass. and then set the rhythm of the song. he is the foundation for every single beat of the snare drum, cymbal, bass drum and rhythm. And now, several years later, a teenager sits and covers his work. hats off to lars!
One thing special thing about Sina compared to other youtuber drummers is that she doesn't try to enforce a "sexy look" or dress to show her body and draw attention. She just plays and enjoys playing, no fancy posing, no show-off, just pure talent and focus on her music. Keep that way :)
Not sure some people realize how much practice it takes to nail this song like Sina did. You don’t just hear the song once and sit down and knock it out of the park. Congratulations Sina and great job!

Does this one taste metallic? No? How about this one, or this one, or ... THE SONG - "One" was written in November 1987 by Metallica's band members James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. It was released on Jan 10, 1989 as the third single from their album '...And Justice for All'. The album version clocks in at 7:27 and there was an edited radio version at 4:58. A music video, the band's first, debuted on MTV on Jan 20, 1989. Three different videos were made - a full length "album" version, a shorter version of that same video, and a short version that fades out during the last bridge. "One" peaked at #35 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Apr 8, 1989, eight weeks after entering the chart. It was last seen at #95 on May 27, 1989 after 15 weeks on the chart. The song tells the disturbing story of a WW I soldier so severely wounded that he has lost his limbs, his sight, hearing and speech. Being in that state, he wishes for death. He apparently can hold his breath though so those around him must be aware that he is conscious and not in a vegetative state. In the video, he tries to communicate "kill me" using Morse code. Well, it's a thrash metal anti-war song. Let's not expect too much :D THE DRUMMER - Lars Ulrich's father Torben is a Danish former professional tennis player who played from the late 1940s to the 70s. During the 50s, he played clarinet in a jazz band. Lars was expected to become a tennis player too but, in Feb 1973, Torben brought his 9 year-old son to a Deep Purple concert and the die was cast - he fell in love with the drums. He got his first proper drum kit, a Ludwig set, when he was around 12. He moved to Los Angeles in 1980 and in 1981 met James Hetfield and they formed Metallica. Lars Ulrich has been rather controversial among metal drumming fans and their opinions range from respect to hate. He's mostly a hard-hitting drummer who emphasizes the downbeat and backbeat. You're not likely to hear him play ghost notes! More of his drumming will be discussed shortly. He also became controversial in mid-2000 when he sued Napster which resulted in 300,000 users being banned from the service. What Ulrich perhaps hadn't considered was that many of those users were die-hard fans hungry for as much Metallica as they could get. Many were turned off by what they felt was pure commercialism and greed - particularly after he showed off his art collection! Rosanna had some questions for Sina. Not being a drummer, she asked our very own comment zone drummer-from-down-under Andrew Hutchison to join them for an extended Q&A session - SINA: It's nice to have Andrew on board! ANDREW: Was the double kick groove that opens the “heavy” section something that you already had in your repertoire, or did she have to practice and develop the technique for the cover? SINA: We learned some double bass drum technique in Drummer's Institute, which was really helpful when I was learning the song. I certainly had to practice the double bass drum passage for this cover. ANDREW: The middle section gets pretty hectic. Was it a challenge from a stamina point of view? SINA: I was lucky that this double bass drum figure didn't go all through the song! My legs got a bit tired, but it was okay. RO: You're very modest about the double bass drum work. We've seen "Wipe Out". SINA: "Wipe Out" was easier to play than "One", because it's easier to play fast 16th notes when you play the quarter notes with the right hand. Every fourth bass drum hit is 'linked' to a stroke with my hand. In "One", I had to play sextuplets and only the first sextuplet was in unison with a stroke from my right hand. That makes it more difficult to be precise with every note. RO: You've said you're "not a metal chick" but you've covered Metallica's "Enter Sandman", "Master of Puppets", and "Nothing Else Matters" for Jadyn, and now also "One". What inspires you about these songs or draws you to cover them? SINA: Metallica is considered a classic rock band, so I had to look into it. It's a lot of fun to play. I'm often asked to play slayer and other thrash metal bands, but I don't think that's for me. RO: Lars Ulrich has been criticized by some for being too predictable or not so creative. I like the "machine gun" 7-7-4-7 stroke, and similar, snare drum rolls. They were creative, if not actually hard. How would you describe his style? ANDREW: He’s not the most liked of drummers out there but I personally think his drum parts are often perfect, if lacking a bit of creativity. SINA: You can find a lot of details in Ulrich's songs, so I think he is creative in his playing. It's important to remember that Lars was one of the guys that came up with this music in terms of composing it. To me, his style seems a bit robotic, but I still have lots of respect for him. RO: The Metallica covers you've done seem to be the gentler, more melodic ones. SINA: Yes, I like the more melodic songs from Metallica best. Melbourne, Australia based drummer Andrew Hutchison is a long time Sina supporter. These days you're more likely to find him on Patreon but he's a fellow traveler here at YT too. Andrew plays with three bands - The Crunchies (70/80’s Aus Rock), Keith David Group (originals / adult contemporary) and Astronomie (doom metal). He has also recorded with multiple Sina collaborator Victoria K. and you can check out his playing on her "Monster (ReMastered 2018)" video - ua-cam.com/video/Sylw2fAeNDw/v-deo.html THE ICON - Niki is going to start decorating the Iconology Clinic for the festive season so don't expect to see her for a few weeks!
Thanks for the heart Sina - and for answering all the questions Andrew and Ro had. ridl fitz you're very welcome. Santa, I'm glad you liked it. It's summer in Andrew's part of the world. Maybe you have to change your name to Sandy Claws when you visit down under ? Just joking...:D
Lars has some competition !! Well done, congratulations !! You are the first drummer I like to listen to, I am French and a fan of Metallica !! You really have talent, and as said previously, you don't do extras, your passion is felt when you play the drums. I wish you good continuation and I will not fail to follow your next videos ... Friendships from France.
I will say again you absolutely nailed. It knocked it out of the park. I grew up in the late 70s in the 80s with Metallica Megadeth and all those hard rock bands and I will give you a double thumbs up. You absolutely crush this song I don’t care what anybody says I’ve been a fan of Metallica, since they first came out and I will tell you what the drummer for metallica would be absolutely proud. If he was to react and listen to you how you did this you’re awesome and what you do keep going. Don’t let anybody bring you down because you’re great at what you do.
Sina, my friend, that was truly impressive. That song changes time signatures about every 3 seconds -- 4/4, 3/4, 2/4, 6/4, 2/2. Math t-shirt was a good choice because the song is an exercise in musical mathematics! Well done!

Wow! super talented. Gotta love the double base and it's my favorite Metallica song! Very impressed by the editing with multiple split screen angles. Professional quality! Well Done.
Ha! Nailed it! Even Lars' slight deviations off time! I'd say this is the reference video for anyone wanting to learn the exact handwork and footwork for this song. Total ausgezeichnet!!!!
Sina fantastic performance. But in addition to music itself the video intro was fabulous loved the way you did this one with background song audio rolling simultaneously with the intro. Another stellar Sina performance.
I like it when you make a grand entrance like that, Sina, right on the lip of the drum part, just like for "Here I Go Again". That was fast - it didn't feel like 7.6 minutes to me, gawking in amazement at the machine-like precision of your reflexes on the double beaters, mesmerized by the ever so slight jiggling of the toms - the way you set up your kit seems to enhance the reverberations to a level hard to define but magical sounding to my ears. And come to think of it, you were actually working three pedals already! And yet you made it seem effortless - I can't wait to read your interview so that I can get an insight on how you felt in doing this astounding performance!!!
@@salbuda6957 , hi there. I've just been reviewing this - same effect, it still feels as if there's "missing time" after the performance, lol. Truly phenomenal.
REALLY great cover. Not my favorite Metallica song, but you're playing that double pedal. I distinctly remember when this song came out. The raw, basic sound, mixed with the guitar crunch. Just beautiful! 😘
I keep telling myself the only thing stopping me from playing One is that I only have the one bass pedal. That's my story and I'm sticking by it. (Great work as always!)
Hi Sina. I found this a hard song to learn on drums, pretty strong syncopation from the start....you make it look easy though - respect for doing such a good job. For all the crap people say about Lars, much like Ringo Starr he created some very unique and memorable drum tracks and this is a good example of his skill, not just as a drummer but as an artist creating.
Holy hell... 805 dislikes... This has got to be the best Lars Ulrich cover I've heard to date. At least 805 people don't know what they are talking about.
Weiter so, Sina!
Every time that you get out of your comfort zone and push your way through you get even better. The challenge keeps the fire growing and feed the hunger! Keep it up! You are a pro and just keep getting better which is what pros do!

Took a moment to read the words on the shirt... I suppose you'd say it was a transcendental performance of a complex piece :-) Quite how you switch from the Skye boat song to Metallica and nail both escapes me, but keep doing it!
Yeah, I'm with everyone else, who in their right mind could dislike this??? She absolutely nails EVERY technical part from snare, alternate drums to cymbals but especially the kick drum which is equally important here. Again, another amazing job Sina...my only critique is that if you're going to cover Metallica, you're going to have to hit your drums MUCH HARDER, like Lars!!! :)

Let's not expect too much :D
THE DRUMMER - Lars Ulrich's father Torben is a Danish former professional tennis player who played from the late 1940s to the 70s.
Not being a drummer, she asked our very own comment zone drummer-from-down-under Andrew Hutchison to join them for an extended Q&A session -
SINA: It's nice to have Andrew on board!
He has also recorded with multiple Sina collaborator Victoria K. and you can check out his playing on her "Monster (ReMastered 2018)" video - ua-cam.com/video/Sylw2fAeNDw/v-deo.html
THE ICON - Niki is going to start decorating the Iconology Clinic for the festive season so don't expect to see her for a few weeks!
Thank you very much for your detailed explanation. 😎👍
*Juliet, Rosanna and Andrew* thanks for the interesting read. Everyone have a wundervolles Wochenende!
Thanks Santa! You're going to be real busy soon! Stay well!
Wondering if Sina will do a request from over here in Phoenix Arizona USA. Love Volbeat and Lola Montez
Who the hell would dislike this? You are very talented. From an amateur ear that just loves this song your cover sounded flawless.
They don't like metallica
Whoever disliked this can’t play this
Wow, what a talent, amazing your energy and precision. My compliments on your performance.
My all time favorite Metallica song, I'm now smiling from head to toe! 😁😁😁😁
Hi Sina I could get used to hese cool drum covers every friday - love it!!
.hi how are you your drumming I s good
It's amazing to see someone who plays good at the drums
I will say again you absolutely nailed. It knocked it out of the park. I grew up in the late 70s in the 80s with Metallica Megadeth and all those hard rock bands and I will give you a double thumbs up. You absolutely crush this song I don’t care what anybody says I’ve been a fan of Metallica, since they first came out and I will tell you what the drummer for metallica would be absolutely proud. If he was to react and listen to you how you did this you’re awesome and what you do keep going. Don’t let anybody bring you down because you’re great at what you do.
It's so nice of you to post this. I'm sure if Lars practices long enough he'll learn to play it too.
Wow. I'm again left speechless. Thank you Sina. I was so moved. This was one of my favourite pieces in the early 90s as a young drummer. Wow.
Her drum tone is fantastic, very well produced.
Sina, my friend, that was truly impressive. That song changes time signatures about every 3 seconds -- 4/4, 3/4, 2/4, 6/4, 2/2. Math t-shirt was a good choice because the song is an exercise in musical mathematics! Well done!
Neal B that's because lars keeps time like a dodgy Rolex
Sounds very cool
Du bist Wunderbar, Fabelhaft und Goldic. Ish spreche die die reheine warheit. Was, Du glaubst Mich nicht? Meine sheibshrift O st night Gut. I came upon you by accident and can see how you have grown. You have been playing since the age of 10, if I'm not mistaken? It is a pleasure watching you beat those drums! Oh, Deine Schwester Ist auch Gut zu beachten. Did I say that right? I don't have the opportunity to converse in German very often, but you, Sina, being of German origin, I felt I needed to at least make the effort. It is a pleasure watching you. Keep it up! Machts Gut!
Wow! super talented. Gotta love the double base and it's my favorite Metallica song! Very impressed by the editing with multiple split screen angles. Professional quality! Well Done.
This was fantastic beyond description. I love seeing people bring the lumber and crushing stuff like this. Lars would be proud.
Ha!
Impeccable timing, great technique, and I love the tone of your drums. Well done Sina.
My cousin has bought a drum set but needs another bass pedal. What an awesome song and this girl smashed it, big up yourself Ms!!!
Chapeau l'artiste
One of my most favorite songs as a teenager. Sina you've held this to the spirit of Metallica and preserved the awe of this song. Great work!
Amazing that a person her age is at the level of talent and perfection. What can I say but amazing. Bless you sweaty
Thats sweety opps
Brings back good memories. Back in high school with my buddies.
My favorite Metallica song! Excellent performance!
Damm it was that good!!!!!! I love Metallica and this song especially, you nailed it. You go, Sina!! Rock on!
REALLY great cover. Not my favorite Metallica song, but you're playing that double pedal. I distinctly remember when this song came out. The raw, basic sound, mixed with the guitar crunch.
Just beautiful! 😘
3 years old, but I keep coming back to it. Amazing!
I keep telling myself the only thing stopping me from playing One is that I only have the one bass pedal. That's my story and I'm sticking by it.
(Great work as always!)
I discovered Sina during COVID I am 71 I just had my mind blown like 1969 wow!
Sina, Another great cover you still amaze me every week thank you Sina Fridays will always be special with you here with us.
Fred Aldridge класс
Fred Aldridge
I've ever smiled so much during a drum video! Great job Ms. Sina, keep up the great work! :)
I will never understand how people can downvote her videos. Everyone of them is awesome.
Just drummers who are not able to reach her level :-P
With a relatively simple drum kit it seems like Lars Ulrich, well done Sina. I never tire of your video that I must have seen at least ten times.
this looks like simple beat rhytm but she play`s much better these day`s she `s come a long way thumbs up sina
It's amazing how someone who's really good at something can make it look so easy.
Awesome
, That's always the mark of talent. They make it look easy.
Weiter so, Sina!
I was moved and my heart was touched.
Nice to see young girl performing best of rock & metal on drums! I'm very fascinated, thanks for sharing!!! :-)
The sounds of war in the beginning sent shivers through my body and goosebumps all over my god she's good
Another WOW for Sina drumming! Impressive to say the least! Go Sina! 🥁🥁💯💯
Wow a song that’s played at the speed of sound and boy she nailed It to perfection
Every time that you get out of your comfort zone and push your way through you get even better. The challenge keeps the fire growing and feed the hunger! Keep it up! You are a pro and just keep getting better which is what pros do!
If this girl doesn't become one of the GOATS I will be appalled..Unbelievable talent.
Is it any wonder why this was the perfect song choice for the first trailer for THE PUNISHER??? Another bang up job, Sina, thumbs up girl.
FIRE!!! you know this song in and throughout!! every creak and every single everything!!!!! Awesome JOB!!! keep it up!
Yeah, she nailed it.
Seems like she is using a A7 stick. If she used a B5, the hits would have much power.
But that is great nonetheless.
I used to play this with my band. drums too.. Never sounded that good. excellent! 🙂
