I love it when you and swedish words into your conversation. As a Norwegian descendant and the old people have passed on, I don't get to hear the beautiful scandinavian language anymore.
You did a great job with that, Emelie. It looks perfect. The cast iron version of this would be way to heavy for you to carry around. You made the right choice for your individual circumstances. Well done.
Greetings from Georgia, USA... Oh boy- that blueberry pie looks delicious! I didn’t even know that could be done like that. Thanks for the video and you’re looking sharp and healthy. Till next time...
I stepped outside and caught an easterly breeze with the fragrance of your fire and blueberry pie, and it is delicious smelling. Can almost taste it from here. "Up like the Sun, and down like a pancake". I like that saying.
Our Boy Scouts use them all the time on camping trips. Typical menu items were: Pizza, dump cakes, roasts, stews cobblers and so much more! You will find it easier to control the temps by putting it on top of a few coals, rather than over open flames. I use mine at home with charcoal briquettes for a great pizza! Here is a ton of recipes: www.macscouter.com/cooking/dutchoven.asp
I think you have really found your "style" in videos now, Emelie. Very entertaining. Looks like what we might call a blueberry cobbler in the south of the USA.
That looks very tasty. Its difficult to bake things over a camp fire but your pie looks delicious. I'm a big bloke I could manage your pie all on my own.
That looks awesome. A lot of pie 🥧 for one person 😁. Just love your style of videos and that you mix English and Swedish in the way you do. Have an amazing weekend, Andreas from Off Grid Sweden 🇸🇪
That pie looked so good, I could almost smell it! (I love anything with Blueberries in it) I'm going to check out the possibility of getting one of those Aluminum Dutch Ovens. The Cast Iron one I have now tends to become a bit heavy after carrying it for 10 km or so.
Looks delicious. That would probably be called a "crumble" in English, because of the crust. Coals are preferable to fire, in Dutch Oven cooking, since the heat is more consistent. Also the real advantage of cast iron is that it heats and cools slower so you don't have to manage the heat as much. The cast iron evens the temperature so you don't have too. The advantage of Aluminum, of course, is the one you mentioned, weight. Depends on which you want as to which is best for you. =) Great video!
Hi emelie .nice Dutch oven . ignore the negative comments.your personal choice .blueberry pie looked amazingly tasty .lovely golden brown .great first attempt.i love emelie outdoors 😊
Excellent video. In Texas, we call that cobbler. I've seen this type of cooking done with charcoal briquettes, but never with actual firewood. Well done. Keep up the good work!
Looks delicious, I make some desserts that way, but if I don't want to have as much clean up and still bake in my Dutch oven, I make mine in a pie pan, set a few small stones in the bottom of my Dutch oven to set the pie pan on, and do what you did. Still works as an oven, instead of cooking directly in the Dutch oven, you use it as a real oven. Works great. Enjoyed your video.
i was thinking more of a crumble Pie. For the purists, yea cast iron, your the first i have seen with an aluminium dutch oven and, I believe it is a good idea. thanks for the video, making videos brings the world closer together.
I think this is more a Cobbler than a Pie. We don't have blueberries where I live but plenty of blackberries. I have made blackberry cobbler in the forest, and it taste exponentially better than it does at home. The big pan wouldn't be a problem for me. I loooove pie and cobbler and could easily eat half that pan in one sitting :>
Looks like it went well. The legs (feet? )of the oven are there for a reason. The oven is made so you are supposed to put it down into coals (no open flames). And you put coals on top. If you would like to try that next time, you can. Appreciate your movies. Good luck and I hope to see more cooking in the future.
Good video, Emelie! That blue berry pie looks delicious. Everything tastes better when cooked outside over a wood fire! You are not only learning skills, but being the teacher that you are, you are also teaching skills!
Nice recipe, it looks like a crumble sandwich !! And you cooked it perfectly the first time, as we say in French "C'est la chance du débutant" (it's the beginner's luck).
Good for you for trying a Dutch Oven. The only thing I would recommend is get yourself some proper tools for it, a trivet, and a lid lifter will make a big difference in being able to handle a hot oven. And a small shovel for moving coals around.
In Australia, the customary way is to place the oven on the bed of coals, rather than over a fire, and to pile more coals onto the lid. No tripod. ☆ your method seems to work well enough
My Mississippi Grandmother's did it the same way. As she was roasting her meats over the fire "coal" or steaks on the "coals" the Dutch ovens were on the sides of & in the coals which cooked the casseroles & fruit cobblers with coals on top. Classic. A lid handle is a must & easy to make. I enjoy the crackle of the fire.
I love the look of your pie and the only thing you need is a lid holder to put the lid on when you take it off the pot. That way you won't get trash from the ground into the pot. You have the fire set up correctly and once you get a lid holder you will love dutch oven cooking even more.
Great video and a lovely looking pie. Anodised aluminium is perfectly safe and light and awesome. Old cast aluminium is thought to be linked with health problems although more research is needed. Enjoy your lovely Dutch oven. How about savoury main course video at some point. X
Hey Emelie:" That was an impressive result. You should feel very pleased with yourself. In Canada I think we would call that a cake rather than a pie, but what ever it looks great. Thanks Brian 78
Very well done Emelie . Not sure on the Aluminum Dutch oven ,but I have used the iron ones a fair bit. The iron ones need to be "cured" with oil before use. They were an often used item in droving camps and mining camps. Legs of mutton come out a treat with all the veg. We just let the wood burn down to coals place the oven directly into the coals and shovel some on the lid. Great way to cook. Damper can be mixed and poured directly into the ash od the fire covered with more ash then place coals on top. Comes out very free of dirt or ash.
Hmmm, looks tasty. You should try a fruit cobbler next. Cherry pie filling with chocolate devils food cake mix is hmm hmm good, topped with whipped cream of course!!!
I love it when you and swedish words into your conversation. As a Norwegian descendant and the old people have passed on, I don't get to hear the beautiful scandinavian language anymore.
I love that you don't listen to the negative comments from some people and try things for yourself we all learn from it.
It doesn't matter what others say,. Do what you want!!! You look like you're feeling better. Great to see you having a good time.
Sounds like the fire is burning right in my headphones. Very inspiring. Thank you alot!
I love the sound of the Crackling fire in the background, it makes me feel warm and like home
Reminds me of auschwitz
It looks a lot like a British fruit crumble. Top marks for successful al fresco cooking! Shared 😋👍🌟
You did a great job with that, Emelie. It looks perfect. The cast iron version of this would be way to heavy for you to carry around. You made the right choice for your individual circumstances. Well done.
It’s so good to see you trying things. Nice Emelie. We all learn from your experiences and comments. ❤️❤️❤️😊👍

Yum ! I'd eat it!
Well done my lady!
Great video! My son and I love watching and learning what you eat in Sweden.
Yay! It worked and looked great, You looked more surprised than I did when it turned out perfect. :))))
Looks yummy! A nice coffee would go well with that.
Up like the sun, down like a pancake. Haha that's a good one. :-)
Super job Emelie 😃 thanks for sharing.
Good job with the pie....first time too! I always enjoy watching your videos
Excellent job! Well done, Emilie

C'est t'un crumble à la myrtille !!
😍😍🙂😉👍👍👍👍👍
Cela à l'aire d'être tellement délicieux !! 😉😉
Wow that came out so much better than I would have expected...
That looks very tasty. Its difficult to bake things over a camp fire but your pie looks delicious. I'm a big bloke I could manage your pie all on my own.
Nice vid many thanks! Outdoor cooking is awesome
Mom. Blueberry pie. Love it!!
I had to snicker when you said 'aluminium'. I thought it was a British thing. Not complaining because you make it sound perfectly correct.
Wow that looked fantastic....
That looks awesome. A lot of pie 🥧 for one person 😁. Just love your style of videos and that you mix English and Swedish in the way you do. Have an amazing weekend, Andreas from Off Grid Sweden 🇸🇪
sadly not as many literally translated Swedish idioms any more, I always liked them :(

Blueberry Crumble Pie - Yummy
Very good job Emelie ... loved it !
The pie looks really good
Monsieur Rankinen has impressive credentials, you should follow his advice - keep making videos!

I’ve been thinking of getting a Dutch oven. Thanks for showing yours. Pie looked tasty.
looks great. you need a lid stand to place the lid on while checking your food. love your videos.

Duck Landes I think you could be right about it being cobbler.
Love your videos, you make bushcraft look very fun and i love your accent

Hi Emelie!! Simply excellent and delicious. Great, great video.👌👌👌👌👌👌
Trail and no errors with Emelie 😁 Looks absolutely awesome!

Looks yummy!
I enjoy how you make that video😀👍
Good for you for trying a Dutch Oven.

Thank you so much for supporting me 🤗🤗🤗
Here in the UK, a dutch over is a euphemism for something completely different :P
Well Done...that pie cooked really well. :)

Congratulations Emelie. It looks yummy. I am now looking forward to lots more recipes.
I love your videos

Also a lid lifter so you don't have to remove all the coals to check during cooking.
Townsend's has some where the pot goes in a hole in the ground lined with coals, and some coals on the lid. a very versatile cooking piece for sure :)
Looks good
Great video and a lovely looking pie. Anodised aluminium is perfectly safe and light and awesome. Old cast aluminium is thought to be linked with health problems although more research is needed. Enjoy your lovely Dutch oven. How about savoury main course video at some point. X
Härlig video. Pajen blev ju jättebra och smakade säkert riktigt gott ☺
Good cook!
Fantastic video. I love my Dutch ovens. Aluminum is more for canoeing or backpacking.
Look delicious.
Hey Emelie:" That was an impressive result. You should feel very pleased with yourself. In Canada I think we would call that a cake rather than a pie, but what ever it looks great. Thanks Brian 78
Great effort, the pie looked like a work of art ,I will have to give your recipie a go
Great looking pie on your first try.
Cheers

Love your pants.
Good job girl.
It did look tasty, it looked more like a blueberry cobbler to me. Good job on the timing, since aluminum conducts heat much better/faster than iron.
Yummy!😋
great video thanks
looks tasty.
Yum.... That looks so good. Not to big at all. I'll help you eat it. Swedish Blueberry Pie for lunch :)
Friends of mine brought there dutch oven camping one time and they made apple cobbler. It was really good too.
Hmmm, looks tasty. You should try a fruit cobbler next. Cherry pie filling with chocolate devils food cake mix is hmm hmm good, topped with whipped cream of course!!!
You had me at blueberry pie....
Looks delicious. :)
Nice vid Emelie ;-)
yum.. I would likely call it a cobbler... or a crumble.. I am Canadian
