I have great admiration & respect for you learning bushcraft/survival skills. And you never have to apologize for not wanting to go in the woods alone, in the dark. You have to keep your head about you. Enjoyed your video..
You did good. Hey sometimes things don't exactly go like you planned, but you ad-libbed. That's what learning is about. You had me scratching my head when you first started making your oven. I had no idea what you were up to, but it worked. Please keep going with your videos. I enjoy them.
Ground is covered with ice and snow here. And all the Celsiuses outside has got the blues. So nice to see how nature is supposed to look, when it's not in Christmas-mode. Blueberry toupee? Heh! Stop being so hard on yourself. Cooking is all about going with what you've got, then use the result as the base to improve it. Good to see you back. Makes the winter darkness a little brighter...
I watch for your new videos all of the time and am happy to see you make another one. I will look forward to more once the weather (daylight) is better for you.
In the USA, Georgia, we go with calling them pies or cobbler. Three of my favorites are apple, peach, and blueberry, with a scoop of ice cream on top- delicious. That was neat seeing it made from scratch with berries you picked yourself, the preparation with the tinfoil and the constant manipulation of the fire to bake them just right, and you even was able to smile when all the smoke shifted into your face. Thanks Miss E, good video.
Smoked blueberry pie looks and sounds quite delicious. Nice job with the reflector oven. So good to see you out in the woods again. Soon will come the snow - then you may need to make some bushcraft snow shoes to get around. Still, snow makes everything look crisp and clean and fresh and new. Best wishes, stay safe. Cheers.
Happy Belated Birthday Emily. Great video. I've watched you for a little while now and you have inspired me to start bushcrafting and begin my own outdoor adventure. Thank you.
I had a teacher that looked kind of like her in elementary but she didn't have her character and that teacher left our school for a year and returned super uptight and domineering , like she'd been to another school with bad kids who mistreated her :(
As always you have made a very good, funny, entertaining, and educational video. The pies looked great, so much so in fact that now I want pie! Thanks.
bringing some luxury to camping or survival is a Godsend! brings good feelings and emotions to what in some cases can be a bit depressing. be dry, safe and cook some good food :) it will always make a better day!
I always enjoy the way you make it look as if you are so happy to just learn as you go , by 'having a go' . So many, too many, post vids that seem so rehearsed and practised that they may as well be scripted. The honest engagement you offer is so appealing, and of immense value. I hope you never lose it. Every time something doesn't work , as you point out, you learn, you adapt, modify, change and develop new approaches that modify and improve outcomes. That is developing the main skill needed for survival and flourishing in any wild place. That being successful adaptation . I really enjoy your vids.
+DustyPilgrim1 Thank you so much for this lovely comment. Sometimes I get really frustrated when things doesn't work out the way I planned, then I have to remind myself that I'm learning and it's okey to show people that I fail. Trial and error!!
This super awesome bushcraft channel video she makes are great way for people to be education and learning bushcraft activities and I am glad to support this amazing woman and her experience exciting bushcraft channel 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀👸👸👸welcome back this amazing woman and happy birthday 🎂
Hello Emelie, Welcome back and, speaking for myself, you have been sorely missed although your reasons are fully appreciated. But then I'm certain that I'm not speaking only for myself :) I'm not much of a cook but I think I will try your recipe and method myself. Once again, welcome back and thanks for the video.
Hi Emelie, hope you are well. Thanks for braving the dark Nordic winter for us! I found this channel when I was searching for a cultural/historical channel about Scandinavia, and instantly loved it. After a while, I realised that the presenter was just as wonderful as the content. I have now watched all of your videos several times, the only UA-cam channel where I have done this!
Great to see you back with a new video. Nice to see you enjoying yourself and attempting new things in the woods. Even though we are having some bad weather here ourselves this week, I try and get into the woods as much as possible. BTW, here in Newfoundland we would refer to the mini pies as tarts....in your case blueberry tarts.
Yay. Another video to get ideas from. Oh good. An oven that’s quick and easy to make in the woods. Not like spending a half a day to make an oven with mud and grass. Which I would like to also try.
Emelie, you are to be commended on your efforts and also for being a teacher. Thank you for sharing your adventures. You are learning FAST ! As a side observation totally unrelated to your videos, You are very attractive.
Hi Emily. It looks like you are going for a reflector oven using foil. It looks like it should work fine but if you try it again, make sure you do a few things. Shiny side of the foil facing the fire will give you a better reflection of heat from your fire. Try to surround your food on 3 sides for a better calorie of heat. Elevate your food for bottom heat. I like your videos and look forward to them. Cheers, and late happy birthday.
Interesting! I have never considered baking a pie on a campfire but I have seen it done with flat stones or tiles but never with tinfoil. Two thumbs up. Enjoy your Holiday season.
Those tarts looked delicious! In Girl Guides we used to make “cookie pies” by putting pie filling between two (already baked) oatmeal cookies, wrapping in foil, and placing on the coals- but I might try a reflector oven next time!
Emelie, Mmmmm those pies looks yummey. I cook fish with the aluminium foil, best and easyest way. Say hi to Rudolph if you see him wandering in the woods of Sweden, merry christmass!
I think you could have tried wrapping each pie tin in a ball of aluminum foil and then placing the foil balls onto the hot coals. That may have worked better than trying to make a little oven. But hey! You got to have fun and eat little pies in the forest and that's what counts. Happy to see you making videos again.
You are very welcome, just please keep the videos coming when its not so dark lol.. Question on your outdoor cooking, dont know if you have a bushcraft space that you go to on a regular basis? Have you ever though ot building a clay oven by your fire pit to bake in?
I'm sooo doing this next time I get out. I know what you mean about it being too dark. I'm up in Bodø, Norway and it's really dark now. The sun doesn't even get above the mountains anymore and we won't see it again until around Jan 19th... Love your stuff. Cheers!
Thank you Emelie for showing us your little blueberry pies ~ Swedish forest style !
Welcome back, and many thanks for another of Emelie's delightful videos..... Cheers.
Your videos always bring a smile to my day. Glad you found some sunlight.
Thank you Emelie and welcome back, I've been missing you
I have great admiration & respect for you learning bushcraft/survival skills. And you never have to apologize for not wanting to go in the woods alone, in the dark. You have to keep your head about you. Enjoyed your video..
This is why I like watching. Great tip on the oven. Wish I was there. Love those blueberries. And I would go with you in the woods in the dark.

Emelie,
I think I would enjoy watching you tackle any subject on video - all of your videos are good and many are outstanding.

Happy Belated Birthday Emily. Great video. I've watched you for a little while now and you have inspired me to start bushcrafting and begin my own outdoor adventure. Thank you.
I love blue berries too and that system of baking don't look bad for outside cooking and you did a nice job considering the conditions.
So nice to see you back was thinking you where gone for good.
I never had a teacher that looked like her :}
you went to the wrong school then
I had a teacher that looked kind of like her in elementary but she didn't have her character and that teacher left our school for a year and returned super uptight and domineering , like she'd been to another school with bad kids who mistreated her :(

Well done Emelie. Looks like a lot of hard work but inbetween eatiing the fire and your hair, they looked tasty.
Merry Christmas Emelie, love you're videos!
Blueberry pie is my favorite!
That looked awesome and the crust looked very tender. :)A few ashes on it never hurt anything. :)
Interesting! I have never considered baking a pie on a campfire but I have seen it done with flat stones or tiles but never with tinfoil. Two thumbs up. Enjoy your Holiday season.
Welcome Back! Missed You. I will have to try that next Camping Trip.
Those tarts looked delicious! In Girl Guides we used to make “cookie pies” by putting pie filling between two (already baked) oatmeal cookies, wrapping in foil, and placing on the coals- but I might try a reflector oven next time!
Glad You back ), nice video.

I visited family in Hedemora in last year and I had never seen soooo many blueberries in my life. The forest floor was covered in them!

Maybe during the dark season it could be "Emilie's Backyard Adventures"!
