- Hi guys! So, I got approval from my ballet teacher saying I was ready for my first pair of pointe shoes on April 1, 2017. I am currently 10 years old so, I am very happy to finally get the ok. This video picks up from after my audition at Arizona School of Classical Ballet. I was accepted into the pre advance class and allowed to shop for my first pair of pointe shoes. This Vlog takes you along to that special moment every dancer works so hard to reach. I hope you enjoy it and continue to tune in to watch my journey to hopefully becoming a Prima Ballerina. 💜
Note ** I have gotten a lot of comments regarding my phone. Some people thought that I was looking at my phone while I was being fitted. I wanted to make it clear to everyone that my phone was in my hand because I was livestreaming the fitting to my Musically fans. If you look closely you can see the screen is recording my feet. I asked the fitter; Miss Jamie, ahead of time for permission to livestream and to record this vlog and she was fine with it. I would never be that rude and my Mom is recording the vlog and would never allow me to do something like that. Now that I look at it; I understand how it may look so, I should have explained what I was doing at the beginning of the video. merel oostendorp you have to wait a couple years for your training to make your feet ready for pointe
although i’m a figure skater i’ve always been fascinated with ballet and pointe. I think i might try ballet sometime soon
Congrats! However I would recommend having your dance teacher(s) come to the fitting. I got fitted with 4 of my dance friends and my instructor came which was good because the teachers have their preferences if you know what I mean. My teacher likes more tapered shoes however I found the less tapered shoes much more comfortable. Also dang, nice feet.

Sea of AG it depends on your dance school, my dance school doesn’t care which pointe shoes you wear as long as they fit and let you dance

i went to dee's dancewear next to arrowhead mall and she gave me and my mom the rudest attitude ever! all we needed was pirroutes and ballet shoes for recital since my two other dances didnt have shoes.
I'm so sorry to hear that you didn't have a good experience. I haven't been to that location but, Dee's is a great danceware store. Try their location off Tatum blvd and Bell Rd. They are very helpful and knowledgable about dance footware and proper fit.
Hii! I must say your arch is abso beautiful! Also, im from the uk, and at my dance school, ive gone there for 11 years last month and everytime i needed something like a new pair of ballet shoes or a new leotard or ballet skirt everyone got fitted where we dance, also because of that i had my dance teacher do my pointes for me, which is now 3 years ago, 4 next February! I had the abso perfect fit!❤️ so next time if u have to get fitted for ur next pair (u will) maybe bring your teacher xx❤️

I think she means pre-pointe classes, which are classes on flat to train your feet for pointe, I took pre pointe before I got on pointe, she doesn’t mean pre pointe shoes, she just means classes. :)

You're lucky you got the opportunity to live fitting! Coz i never did. There's no stores here in my city that sells pointe shoes so i had to order them online and just keep my fingers crossed that i got the right model and size for my feet. I went through a loooooot of brands and models before finally settling with Grishko 2007.

Not to be rude, but for my sister, we drive for an hour to get pointe shoes. I’m pretty sure you’ll find a pointe shop where you can get fitted within an hour of driving
If you keep dancing till your a teenager, your going to be better than Misty Copeland . I started ballet when I was 14 but the fact that you started ballet at 3 blows my mind

Better than Misty Copeland? Ummmmm how about right up with her caliber? Misty Copeland was a true prodigy. She started ballet late, at age 12/13, and within only a year of taking classes she started pointe and a few years later made it to ABT training program. :)
I’m currently not in a dance class because I justa moved and everything’s been complicated for the past year, but once school starts back up im going back to dance classes, hopefully just a year or two before my first pair of pointe shoes

Your so lucky! I’m a contemporary dancer and have only been doing it for about 4 or 5 months but my teacher says I’m improving lots. I also do gymnastics and circus training. I’ve always wanted to do pointe. Is it hard? Does it hurt? Also, I subscribed and my name is also Mia 😂
Bluey Lps It does hurt sometimes. If you have to wear them for a long time your feet get sore but, it's a lot of fun and totally worth the pain. 😀I love contemporary dance too.

I am currently 11 and I have not done dance/ballet ever and I really did was just u know stretches and stuff. I can do perfect demi-pointe and all the position, arabesques, u know and I am extremely flexible and have a well rounded arch. I have looked on thousands of websites, videos you name it! But I really want to live out my dream and be en pointe... all the schools r for 8 and under and I am very sad. There is one school but it seems very unprofessional and like not good ya know? I go to a ballet school, but I also train at home. I do stretching and strengthing. I have follow along videos you could watch. I also use this app called "Ballet Elasticity" from Master Ballet Academy in Arizona. Best of luck!!❤❤
i live in the state of Ohio and I have been doing home ballet and stretching for over a year. Actual ballet practice is 6 months and i have been doing stretching for over a year after i found i had very good flexibility.

Home training really isn’t an option, you need a teacher to constantly be correcting you and following along to videos is fine except your not going to improve anything. You can always find a teacher online and doing video chats but even then it is hard.

Hola Quiubó You are not too old to start ballet. Misty Copeland and Gisele Bethea; two of my favorite professional ballerinas, started when they were 13 years old. You can do whatever you put your mind to and if you have a love for ballet you should follow your heart. Good luck! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do and thank you for watching my channel. 💕
