Hi Greg, really great to see you in an outdoor video again. Your footage is absolutely epic, fantastic stills results as well. The one at ~13:03 is my personal favourite. Yes, the pandemic swirled all plans apart, an absolutely crazy time. I hope you anyway find some possibilities for photography meanwhile. See you in your next one - or in mine, however ;) Nice greetings, Christian
Well, it was a year ago, so i'm not quite 'outdoors' again at the moment. This was a bit of a learning video really, in terms of b-roll, might see a bit more of that in the future. Will check out your vlogs!
Love the Alps. The trouble with going to awesome places during difficult times is that it's hard to go back and enjoy them again without a tinge of sadness - Assynt is now a place that I crave and dread in equal measure but my advice is keep going back and redress the balance, skew it to the happy memories. Great images in this vlog - misty pinnacles and mountain recessions are my favourite types of shot. Hope you're out and about again soon, cable cars to walk the peaks, not the steep bits, sound a great way of starting to get getting hill fit again.
Thanks. Yeah, I was planning to go back in the autumn last year for another go, but the injury meant I couldn't. Was then thinking I'd go again this year, but you know, Covid. Really do want to explore around there more, so will go back eventually.
Very high praise, but there is an absolute abundance of amazing photography from that area. Having never been before it was all a bit of a rush, but I made the best of it I could.
Stunning work throughout! Are most of the shots at the end from your first morning stop that day at Aiguille du Midi? I particularly love the shot at 24:08, 24:30 (and the panorama between those two), and 25:31 (what gorgeous light)!
Hey man, thanks for the comment. It's over 3 years ago since I posted this so I cant really remember in what order I did things. I went up the Aguille Du Midi 3 times I think.
Loved that intro Greg. Gorgoeus mix of b-roll, images and talking head stuff. Really enjoyed this. Wouldn't have been a decent vlog without the customary boom atb Alan
Hi Greg, I hope you don't mind me asking in this videos comments, but I am planning a trip on the NC500 next month. I am also a photographer and have been blown away by the Duncansby Sea Stacks which I seen in another of your videos. The only problem is I'm struggling to find information online about how to get to base level. Is it easy enough if I wanted to get down there for sunrise? Many thanks
Hi, saw the comment on the NC500 video too. It's relatively 'easy' depending on your mobility. If you walk south from the parking area, over the hill and toward the sea stacks. You'll get to a fence line after about 10 minutes. Go through and on the left hand side you'll see evidence of an obvious 'path' worn by many footsteps down to the rocky shoreline. It is steep and the ground is gravelly and loose. However, there is a rope which you can use as an aid to steady yourself and give some confidence. The drop down from top to bottom is between 20-30 metres and only takes a few minutes to negotiate.
In a word, stunning! Some really amazing shots. Although, on the last photo reveal, a voice over BOOM!!! would have sealed it.
Thanks. Haha, felt a boom would have been too much :)
Amazing natural landscape. Very relaxing to watch.
Thank you, pleased you enjoyed 👍🏻

UA-cam was boring without your videos i am glad you back.
Thank you, though wouldn't say YT was boring, very far from it, but I appreciate the comment ;)
That was excellent. Loved the drone & b-roll footage. Image near the end with the crepuscular rays is stunning.
Thanks Neil, I hope it helped calm you down ;)
Stunning photos and well put together the last part must have been amazing to witness.
Thanks David, yes, that was a gorgeous morning, wish I could go up there everyday!
Cracking. Loved that Greg. Some lovely atmospheric image there.

Yeah, though it'll be more difficult for Lisa I think. Indeed, part of me wishes we had cable cars dotted around the highlands of Scotland, lol ;)
@@GregWhitton after lockdown my out of condition spare tyre and my creaky knees are wishing the same! Nothing for it but to get back outside :-)
and very nice too... you've had a tough year or so... so good to see you producing stuff again
Thanks David, will get back into it at some point...in the meantime...book project.
incredible footage and photos Greg. Really enjoyable vlog!

Good to have you back.
Thank you David, only a brief comeback, for now.
Really enjoyed that bud. Fine images and footage. Really liked the glacier pano image. Good to see you putting something on here again.
Not sure pics like that really translate well to YT, especially ones as big as the pano at the end, but hey-ho. Glad you enjoyed it :)
Very enjoyable Greg. Great to see you back on YT.
Cheers Simon, keep strumming that Guitar!
LOTS OF BOOM! Enjoyed that!
Thanks for tuning in Mali :)
Greg Whitton pleasure was all mine 😍👍
Great video! I am sure many people would be excited to see you expand this great journey with your behind the scenes stories.
Thank you, I shall try!
Welcome back. Love this video. I've been there four times. It's such an amazing place!

Marvellously splendid....but less about the beard. Lovely stuff Greg. 👍👍😬
What is wrong with the beard? Don't tell me you know someone with a better one!!!
Nice👏👏👏should we call you big G? Based on the epic shots and the icon next to your name?
A little bit of mountains, some photos, a boom moment and the obligatory thumbs down. I’d say that’s a success again.
Welcome back Greg 👊👊
Haha, it's not a video on YT unless it's got a thumbs down ;)

Thanks Alan, yeah, I quite like the beginning and the end. The middle, not so much, lol
