I graduated App in 2014. I loved my time there but it was far from perfect. Thank you for being real about the diversity issue. Sad to see it hasn’t changed much.
'90 here. There's just not much diversity in the mountains. They are trying. My parents went to segregated school in Wilkes county. I once asked my much younger uncle if there were many black kids when he went to school. He said "oh yes. We had two black families that went to school with us".
My dad grew up with segregation at his school. App are certainly has more diversity than probably ever before , but still some professors still have fixed mindsets.
Too bad they no longer have the gold room or sweet shop. I had so much extra money on my meal plan at the end of the year i took everyone on my floor to the gold room for steaks. My prof in religions of the world took us all to the sweet shop for ice cream the last day of class. Those were really good "amenities".
My daughter graduated from there 2022, she majored music education, covid happened 2020, so her classes were online then. Yeah I didn't like any food in that whole town, we are from ft liberty area so used to more diverse food. And i helped my daughter pick her classes and she graduated in 4 years

Yeah it is sad, but I also was able to meet a lot of great people. Which I am thankful for

@@maxrockatanskytheroadwarrior 3.89 for my last degree I believe. Did Health and Fitness Science, now going for my B.S in Exercise Science
Good video. I hope the admin sees it and fixes the food problems and is less crazy about towing away cars.
Thank you for watching! I hope so as well
Thank you for your honest review
You're welcome! 😊 Thank you for watching! I’m glad you found it helpful! Are you considering App State, or are you already a student there?

Thank you so much for watching. Yeah, we never had that. I wish we did tho. We do have like a market place but not really the same thing lol
I’m graduating hs in 2024 and I’m super interested in App. What is a good way to get in?
Congratulations! Honestly just a decent GPA. i think you can still get in without having a bunch of extra curriculum actives
I am applying to app currently and I graduate HS in may of 2024 and I was wondering if my 3.9 Gpa is good enough?
Hi! Yes, your gpa will certainly be good enough
@@SummerBailey Okayy, Thanks!. And I was also wondering was it likely to get a single dorm as a freshman?
yes, I was the only person of color in a majority of the classes for my major
I feel it trust me. What was your major?

I am so happy to hear she graduated! Congrats!! Yes, the food is certainly not the most ideal thing.
Only good advisor is Matt H
What major is he?
ADVISING SUCKS---- all of my friends have had horrible experiences
thank you for watching! All of my friends also had such bad experiences tbh
This was true in the 90's. It's sad to see it hasn't changed.
