    I know this video has been around for over two years, but dude! I have waisted WEEKS looking for this info in the wrong videos. I learned more to get me started as soon as you started talking, than even Abletons own tutorials. Thank you so much!!

    Nice videos man. Thanks.
    Question for all of you - does anyone just record straight into the arrangement view? Do we NEED to use the session view? I mainly record rock and metal demos, with some samples and synths added for a bit of spice!....session view doesn’t feel quite as conducive for that type of music.
    I get a bit confused switching and working in the 2 views.
    Thanks for your thoughts. X

    • @DJCouchKing
      @DJCouchKing  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks! No you don't need to use session view. It can be a useful tool for recording and experimenting with ideas. But if you're getting more use out of arrangement view there are no rules on how to use the software.

      Yeah I do both...started on arrangement view cause I come from early logic and early ableton....now I've started using session to quickly hash things out

    Is there a way to just COPY the Tracks from the Session view to the Arrangement view by just clicking? Lets say if I dont want to record anything but just want my Master Scenes right into the Arrangement? This is a bit how it works in FL Studio I think. Thank you for this series!

    • @DJCouchKing
      @DJCouchKing  3 місяці тому +1

      You can just copy and paste clips from either view to the other.

    how do you trim a track selection in arrangement view in ableton 9? (delete everything outside selected area)

    • @DJCouchKing
      @DJCouchKing  3 роки тому

      Highlight the section you want to crop, press Ctrl + E to split and then delete the parts you don't want.

    • @eastwoofer
      @eastwoofer 3 роки тому

      @@DJCouchKing no, that's not it at all. i'm talking about selection of multiple tracks in the arrangement view (the part of the mix you want). your suggestion saves no more time than just deleting parts before and after a loop selection. i want a way to just select multiple tracks and trim off everything but what's in the selected area--as you can do with a single clip in the session view. this is a critically needed shortcut to an important way of working/recording. it's insane i can't find this, and much more insane if not available.

    Don't know what is going on with Ableton on my end. I downloaded your project, again, and again, no sound. At the bottom of Ableton, in the Status Bar, it states, "Media files are missing. Please click here to learn more." When I click though, nothing. I restarted my computer and did everything again. No sound. Oh well. l can still learn from your video.

    Biggest shit of Ableton... the arrangement view. Total piece of crap of a sequencer compared to any other program. They just want you to use session view...

    • @DJCouchKing
      @DJCouchKing  3 роки тому

      I like both. Editing is really fast in arrangement view. It might not be for everyone but there are plenty of other DAWs if you don't like it.
