Dr Neil, you've done it again! Your teaching skills are awesome. I truly appreciate you setting the mood to learning with the beach view then you dive into questions in such a systematic way that facilitate retention of these complex subjective topics. I have to admit, I did not know the technical term for depression screening (PHQ9) before you taught it to me. Thank you for your dedication to the Art of Medicine.
PHQ9 - Patient Health Questionnaire - 9 questions. More of a STEP 2/3, but everything is fair game, They mention screenings being more important and in our current day, depression/suicide are at the forefront...
Hello Dr.Neil, I just wanted to reach out and say thank you for these amazing videos you've posted. I started off with your biostats videos and they were a major help! These along with some of your other videos on different topics really gave me the confidence and encouragement I needed to keep pushing forward. I had recently taken the step 1 and got my score back that I passed! I owe a lot to your amazing teaching style and guidance! Thank you for all your help!
Rebecca, OUTSTANDING!! CONGRATULATIONS!! Passing STEP 1 is a HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT and such a confidence builder. Use that momentum to start focusing on STEP 2... Don't let up off the gas pedal... ENJOY THE MOMENT...thee GO CRUSH STEP 2.
@@RandyNeilMD Thank you so much for your kind words Dr.Neil! I am doing just that! I was wondering if at some point I would be able to ask you some questions on applying to residency in Psychiatry, as that has been my goal throughout studying for this whole process.
feeling lucky that you again started immense helpful videos right before my CK exam. same happened with step 1 and helped me a lot. please make content on drug ads.
The last question. It actually mentions it in First Aid. Fluoxetine is a CYP2D6 inhibitor, therefore, it should also be known that Paroxetine is also a 2D6 inhibitors since they're in the same class. Thanks for the review!
Tejasvi, Just trying to put the relevant material out there... There are tons of screening material out there... this one is the THE BASIC. The mention "screening" in the USMLE outline...
Teşekkürler.

The hardest part of the DRUG AD questions for me is actually making them without fully stealing someone else's stuff...
I like learning through questions
I agree. Practice like we will see during the real thing...
Outstanding teacher. Thank you so much

Amazing summary. Please make a video on vaccination schedule and vaccination in different disease. Thank you.
Samira, Glad it was helpful. I'll have to do my research about the vaccine schedule and how we can make it memorable...
Q 4: is serotonin Syndrome agitation but can be caused by many drugs including serteraline
Yes, but PAXIL/PROZAC 2D6 inhibitors and that where I think they are going...
@@RandyNeilMD medicine is science of unspecified concepts, what I like more is your way of thinking when solving questions
Thank you sir
You are welcome.
Is this really step-1 relevant material? I've not seen any of the screening tools from the first question in a question bank or in First Aid

Q2 lack the duration of symptoms or I think so
I think in the original stem we mention wife passed 1 month ago and symptoms (according to family) have been present for a few weeks...
If it fulfills MDD criteria, the rest of the story is not considered.
