Nigeria has lots of young talented attackers like: Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, Gift Orban, and so many more! However, they haven't produced the same amount or quality of midfielders and defenders. Why?
In today's video, that is EXACTLY what we are going to dive into! We are going to take a quick look at all the attackers that Nigeria have produced and why there is such a disparity between the goal scorers and the rest of positions. VAMOSSSS!!!!!

It has come to my attention that I have made a pretty bad mistake😅The Nigeria National Team is the Super Eagles and not the Super Falcons. The women's national team is the Super Falcons. I appreciate everybody that let me know, and I hope to not make the same mistake in the future👍 Enjoy the video😃
No is super chicken. We changed it.

😂😂. Maybe you can assist as a ball picker😢
Super Falcons are the female national team. The men play for the Super Eagles. Thanks for the analysis.
My bad🤣
Nice videos but Nigeria has decent midfielders and defenders…Alex Iwobi of Fulham, Frank Onyeka of Brentford, Ndidi of Leicester, Joe Aribo of Southampton, Onyedika of Club Brugge, Alhassan of Antwerp, Fisayo of Hatayspor, Samson Tijani of Salzburg, Kelechi Nwakali, and many more…In the Defense, Ola Aina, Tyrone Ebuehi, Calvin Bassey, Osayi Samuel, Zaidu Sanusi, Semi Ajayi, Bruno Onyemaechi…Our only problem is the Goalkeeper
they are not at the level at the attackers!
Guy apart from iwobi, all those players are reminant players
Yeah, there are decent, but they aren't at the level of their attackers nor do they have the depth that they do in the attack. That's all I'm saying😀
@@benjaminfranklin374ogbeni shut up if you think Ndidi and Onyeka are reminant players
@@abstraqtphilosophy7357they are just not at the level of their attacking counterparts
The reason is because the Nigerian football system (for example scouts, academies) are better at identifying attacking talent (there is a formula that works) than midfielders for example. So because of this the other departments falter. It does not mean that the country produces more attacking raw talent. We are just bad at knowing a good midfielder when we see one. So expect the trend to continue like this for some time. Players like Osimhen were actually identified as good when they were under 10 years! We know how to spot forwards.
The village I did my NYSC bro, there are so many great midfielders there
If you guys started doing a better job of identifying midfielders and defenders. WOWWWW!!! Nigeria would be a force to be reckon with.
Great video. This probable should be a wakeup call for the NFF and the Nigerian scouting system.
welldone bro keep it up..as a Nigerian i appreciate your research..however its super eagles lol..Good job
Thanks you for the kind words man🙏I don't what happened I have Super Eagles in my research, but then when I scripted the video I put Super Falcons😅
Great video man!
Nice one brother, very good research work. I was waiting for your Boniface dance 😂
Thank you man♥ Nah, no Boniface dance in this 🤣
Nice job. Well done and your presentation and enthusiasm can draw an audience and keep them around for what's next. Plus you only made one error. Keep it up.
Thanks for the kind words🙏 What was the one error I made?
@@TheFutbolisto Super Eagles not Falcons, different birds, but you already know by now. 👍
Hey thanks for doing this video
I am the new subscriber who in your last video recommended you to do this video
I appreciate the recommendation! I really enjoyed making this one! I hope you did too😀
The analysis at 6:42 is the correct one. It's a supply and demand problem. The greatest midfielders and defenders haven't been the most physical ones, they are the best trained ones. For the top leagues in Europe, there is no reason to look abroad, you can find an intelligent, teachable ball player at home and get them to Clairefontaine or La Masia.
In attack you need raw talent to work off, so those are the players most likely to get scouted from Nigeria to go abroad. Obviously the academies in Nigeria are not at the same level as in Europe so it's hard to "produce" a home trained player on that world class level, in any position.
I agree 100%. Attackers usually have more raw athletic talent, where in order to be a high level midfielder or defender you don't really need to be the most athletic, but you have to have a level of football IQ.
Great video 😊😊😊
Thank you bro💪
I remember playing street football in Nigeria i usually play as mildfelder because i don't score always whenever they want to choose who to play they don't see me as an option.
Just on point
👍
You forgot Chuba Akpom the highest goal scorer in the English Championship last season,
sad there is no space for him in the national team despite his talent
Man, last season at Middlesbrough 28g in 38apps in the Championship. The attacking talent that Nigeria has is just crazy!😱
@@TheFutbolisto
Does Dominic Solanke get into this?
He played only for England junior team but he hasn’t played for English senior team. He’s not a Nigerian player to me
@@moemekeifeoma1484 has been invited for a training camps, indicated readiness inbeing a SE player,

Thank you man♥
Formation = 3-2-5
Nigeria should play all out attack
use 5 attackers
Attack is the best form of defense
With 5 solid goal scorers up front no team will be able to stop them from scoring since the goals can come from any of the 5 strikers. You can’t realistically mark 5 strikers.
Nigeria does not have to keep clean sheets Just out score your opponents and win that’s all
Those are interesting tactics and an interesting formation🤣🤣🤣
Not enough space on the pitch to play 5 strikers. They would get in each other's way. Maybe a 4-3-3 at best. but would require a good holding mid.
It's Super Eagles for the men's senior team. It's the women's senior team that is the Super Falcons
Please point of correction is super eagle notes super Falcon Nigeria female football team are called super Falcon thank you
I appreciate you pointing that out to me♥ and I apologize for the mistake🙏
This what I have been talking. You can't win trophy with only strikers. We currently parade the best strikers in Africa, curtesy of Victor Osimen and Boniface who are currently doing fine but we can't boast of same in our defense, midfield and goalkeeping department. Ndidi who is now the engine of our midfield is fading away, no wonder he is still in English division two. Same with Aribo who plys his trade in English division two. If we don't bring fresh blood into the midfield, defense and goalkeeping department we won't be able to compete with Africa best
Exactly, because if you guys improved the other positions on your team with those forwards you could compete with the best teams in the world. But you can't win with just amazing attackers though.
Our midfield will improve in the coming years, Onyeka is a prime example
Peseiro should draft Lookman and kelechi as attacking midfielders who can score( Remember Kanu Nwankwo, Mutiu Adepoju, Jayjay Okocha)? This squad's midfielders i agree, are not at the level they are supposed to be, Peseiro should give chances to midfielders who want to fight for a call up. Solution: play high-quality friendlies, test new players, that's how Bruno Onyemaechi and Zaidu Sanusi made the team.
I'm amazed by Nigeria's ability to produce many world-class strikers, but the coach might have a hard time figuring out the lineups😂, still, Nigeria's future is pretty exciting!
Absolutely! Should be interesting to see how they do at next year's AFCON!
Nigeria needs to use 4 - 2 - 4
Basically, Chukwueze and Boniface can play as wing-backs, while Oshimen plays as a false 9 and Taiwo plays as the top 9
@@michaelkemasI agree with the 4-2-4 formation but disagree with line up
Boniface and Osimhen as double striker, chukwueze and moses Simon as wide midfielder

The content was amazing but the error i notice was him calling "Super eagle" { Super falcon}
Yeah, I don't know how that happened😅But I'm glad you enjoyed the video👍
You forgot mention Iwobi
Well here in nigeria check all kids growing up we all want to play as forwards few as midfielders so it clear where our problem lies
Yeah, because if you guys improved your midfield and defense then you guys would be so much better
@@TheFutbolisto that’s genuinely difficult academies only pick kids who are talented going forward Nigerians with Thomas muller skill set are ignored nobody likes defending even at our regular 5 asides so for Nigeria to produce a good team we need a system reset
One Reason why our Midfield and Defense is weak is because our players play for other countries, mainly England. Poor Development is also an issue. But Put Eberechi Eze, Fikayo Tomori, Bukayo Saka, and Michael Olise in that Super Eagles team and then the quality in Midfield and defense jumps up.
Very true
@TheFutbolisto Now, also add Manuel Akanji of Manchester City, who is a defender and Jamal Musiala of Germany, who is one of the finest young Midfilelders on the world today, and Karim Adeyemi, who can play as a winger and then you see the Skill drain I'm talking about.
Eberechi Eze is not that good, he is not better than iwobi. He just shot himself in the leg by not obeying Nigeria call and play for England. He doesn't possessed the quality to undo Foden, Madison and like in the English team.
bro i subscribe
Thank you very much man🙏
😂 The Nigerian Womens national team is called Super Falcons while the men's national team is called Super Eagles, perhaps Nigeria love beautiful bird 🕊️
Yes so many attackers but the answer is simple,Victor osimhen is the best out of all the strikers
For sure, Osimhen is one of the best number 9s in the world. It will interesting to see if Victor Boniface can get to that same level!
The Nigerian national team (male) is called the SUPER EAGLES NOT FALCONS (The female team)

This assertion is kind of ridiculous
@@AustinLM state your case? I could also just say your comment is ridiculous without a basis
Jose peseiro is a horrible coach, do your research on what he did when he was coaching Venezuela, and also Nigeria doesn’t have good goalkeepers
You know nothing about Nigeria. The only position Nigeria is really lacking is the goal keeping department.
Calling the Nigerian national team super Falcons shows that you are one of those westeners that know nothing about this team.
The Super Eagles😉 have an okay midfield and defense, but when you compare it to their attackers, it's nowhere close to the level. If they can start developing midfielders and defenders like they are doing with their attackers, then will have a top top team. That's all I'm saying! I hope you have a great day🙏
If you think we have a good midfield and defense then you need to get off crack or whatever you’re smoking. He’s right. Our midfield and defense is shite compared to our attack

I've been saying this for years. The most important positions in football is midfielders and defenders. Forwards are the least important position, goalkeepers are more important in my opinion. That's the problem with Nigeria.
If Nigeria could improve the other positions on their team. They would be so good.
