The Wonderkid from Nowhere
Вставка

- In a world where every player at every club is scouted extensively from the age of 10, it feels impossible for a potential superstar, a bonafide wonderkid, to emerge from nothing to European stardom in less than a year. But that is exactly what is happening in Belgium and it’s a story so riddled with fortune and timing you can’t help but wonder who else may have slipped through the cracks.
This kid is scoring goals at a Haaland-like pace and recently set the record for the fastest hat trick in European club competition history. A year ago, he was an amateur in a place so far off the radar of international scouting that it is impossible to find on Google. And Google knows everything. So if Google can’t find it, it certainly is not real.
Much Love,
The Zealand

As a Gent fan Im blown away by his preformance every game, zealand even forgot to mention his shenanigans on the pitch like a shot at goal from a kickoff or his bicycle kick that nearly went in against West Ham, Orban just oozes confidence and I hope Gent will get to enjoy him for at least another season.
Omg another Belgian Zealand fan
@@mattimattis and another Belgian Zealand fan :)
*Belgium intensifies*
I hope you keep him for a while too so he develops more. I support Chelsea and I don't like how they're dealing with Datro Fofana, especially when Kai Havertz sucks so much and there's literally nothing to play for.
buffalo!!
I had a save in fm23 at Stabaek with Gift Orban and he developed like crazy. So fun to see such players do well in real life
Dang I didn’t even know he was in! I play Porto most of the time and I would have a first refusal on him bc of an affiliation that’s sick

As a Nigerian, I'm proud to see one of my brothers make it to Zealand's centerstage. Much Love!
My missus used to give him English tuition while he was at Stabæk. Good to see he's taking off like he discussed wanting to.

One could say he is a gift to football.
That’s so clever, how’d you come up with that?
🙊💯🎁
One *COULD* say that, but one isn't going to.
He’s always present in the box 🙌
He can really wrap his foot around the ball
As a Gent fan I have to say im impressed. We bought this guy in the late hours of the window and 3 mil is a lot and we don't have a lot of money. But he has turned out amazing and he seems such a fun guy.
3 mil is a lot?😂
@@josephrobert194 It is a lot. Your perception has been warped by PL money. For most football clubs around the world, 3 mil is very significant.
Agree its a lot for a team from Norway

Ok.
It's crazy to think there could be someone better than Messi lurking on a remote island in the Philippines but he just hasn't been found. He seems like a quality player though, hope he goes far

Great video. You’ve really found your stride. Love the level of research that goes into these videos and the pace you keep it at
He just scored another hattrick yesterday by the way... This kid is blowing my mind every match I watch from my team
Watched him score a worldie against anderlecht whilst on a trip to Belgium, this guy is the real deal
*Immediately scouts Gift Orban on FM23* This is an incredible story, but I'd never heard of this guy before, so thanks for sharing Z! Looking forward to seeing if he continues to bang the goals in for Gent..
Togo is a reeeeally poorly developed country. It's basically a single strip of land with a road that goes all the way deep into the country and then it ends. The capital is the port city and there's some mapped settlements around the big road, the rest are small villages spread around the rest of that strip. The anthem of the country doesn't say something like "defend the nation" it says "brave togolese let's defend the CITY". Freaking wild.
So it's essentially a city state with a strip of land attached to it? Kinda cool tbh
@@whoisjoe5610 It's a city with a back garden
Lets gooo, my boi! Really like Stabæk, and it was so fun to see his instant impact. Man didn't even get to play in the top division before he went off to Belgium
His rise to the big stage is hard to make sense no matter how hard one tries to make sense of it. It's just remarkable.. Gift Orban, remember that name.
The Nigerian streets would either ruin you or make you a mentality monster. So much talent, so little opportunity.
Saw him play against my team (West Ham) and was impressed. Never stopped running. He hit the crossbar from a bicycle kick on the edge of the area. He did dive a lot and his decision making wasn't great. Excited to see what he does next
He was a 'gift' for our competition, he's very enthousiastic, really behaves like a raw diamond, enjoying every moment. He was angry put on the bench to rest for one game though, and hen he came on and scored (of course), he didn't really celebrate and ignored his coach completely after the game. So the statement of professionalism is not accurate at this moment ;) But he feels genuine, it's very rare to see such a raw diamond on every level, and everybody loves him because of that.
Not sure what everybody is basing this stuff about him being "crazy" off.
Well, having lived in Flanders for a decade, I do...
Gift is just incredible! Thank you very much for the video!
he started to realize that he didn't have much time to show everyone what he could do, but he kept his head down and stepped up his game and now he's seen around the world. What is there to say except pressure makes diamonds.
As a gent fan thank you for this video.
Point of corrections Orban Gift is from the Tiv Tribe of Benue state of Nigeria, yes an indigenous to Gboko Local government of Benue state.
I have a season ticket at Gent, he's awesome. Never stops running. Hong in Central midfield is worth a look too.
Naija to the wooooooorlddddddd🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬❤
Great job, informative and funny, subbed. SPURS SIGN GIFT ASAPPPP. I watched his goals, this man is going to be a star, like elite level star, guaranteed. As he can finish on both feet with power. This alone is extremely rare, so rare I can't think of many players I've ever seen that can even do it. Kane is one and Son to a lesser extent.
as a Başakşehir fan, that kid smashed us. I was watching that match live in stadium....
Many outstanding players like this in Africa fall through the cracks.
As a huge Gent fan for my entire life, 3 months after this video, I'm sad to see him go to Tottenham, even though this is best for his bright future. He joined in the later half of the 22-23 season, which wasn't enough to put Gent in the playoffs this year, even though we were winning nearly everything with him. Thanks Orban for taking us on one hell of a ride, even if it was short lived
This is why the lower divisions should never be overlooked.
makes me wonder how many other players like this are out there, good luck in your career Gift!
Gift is one of the lucky ones. There are littered all over Nigeria and West Africa in general.
so why isn't west africa taking advantage of this? I really dont understand. Build more facilities. Tell ur government about this. Especialy in Nigeria and countries with a high pop@@akinloludaviddiji967
I like the editing it’s top notch
very insightfull piece of content. Would never know who Gift Orban is, if it wasnt for Zealand. Keep up the good work.
This dude reminds me of Obafemi Martins. Same build similar style. Great finisher..
I loved the fact that you talked about Gift Orban 🇳🇬 and I subscribed because of the hair growing back joke. 😂
Looks like dortmund found their new striker …
There's already plenty players who can play striker, even if Modeste is mostly useless
Yep. Whenever they sell adeyemi 😂
I can't help feeling that somewhere in Togo, there's a police station that's probably lost their greatest ever police officer to football. What a waste!
As a Togolese, Im proud to know this guy played in my country
like how you do your videos...wasnt bored for a second...
Orban is nothing short of a miracle, a true sensation for belgian football. As a Gent fan these are amazing times :)
As a Nigerian I didn't know we had a club called bison Fc
I need to start following my domestic divisions properly
after this video am seeing him everywhere well done
Think about how many ‘1 shot, 1 opportunity’ situations this kid must have just destroyed
My striker at Stabaek, in a build a nation in Norway before moving to Belgium! Love him
Belgium mentioned, big W
How come his goal stats has dropped so dramatically this year? 16 matches 15 goals last season, and only 3 league goals on 17 matches this season?
Hopefully he'll regain his form but about 11 of those matches he played 20 mins from the bench
He had a bit of a slow start and our other striker who returned from injury started playing well and scoring a decent amount of goals, so Orban got benched more with less chances to play. But even then he missed more chances than last season
That's no uncommon honestly. That's why a big club didn't buy him right away, it's a gamble. 90% of "wonderkids" never become much.
I follow norwegian football and my team brann were relegated together with stabek, and this guy literally came out of nowhere and lit up obosligaen
Was 20 steps above everyone else when he was at Stabæk. Knew he'd make it far. Suarez at Liverpool kinda difference.
Young kid with a passion for playing football. Didn't even speak Norwegian as far as I know when he was here. So impressive.
I guess it's possible that even in these modern times it's possible for potential like his to go unscouted.
Fcking yess!! Cmon you bhoys in green COYBIG 💚🍀💪🏼 celtic top In the background! Would love gift at parkhead would fit in amazing
I guess, his outstanding performance will make Google recognize a town in Nigeria called TARAKU. gwer east local government of BENUE STATE
I don't know what's more interesting: the story being told, or the guy telling the story. I just could scroll away. lol
Ted Boehly entered the chat - $100 mil
Imagine if he reaches his potential and nigeria get him and osimhen, the stuff of world cup legend
He should come out to the sidemen song " Im the gift"
Nigeria 🇳🇬 Victor Boniface , Nigeria Gift Orban , Nigeria 🇳🇬 Victor Osimhem.... Genetic Food, GRIT
Literally just checked his stats and saw genk was playing now. He already scored a hattrick
Here because of the spurs transfer talks.
feeling VERY good about this if the transfer actually goes through
You're listine-able(sp) bro I just like how you narrate 🙏🏾... And bit of fun here and there 🤜🏿
I remember when i looked at his stats after that hattrick and i had never seen something like that
Madrid needs him
insanely good content keep it up brother
Zealand, why have you got a Lincoln city top on? I love it, no one’s heard of us
He has Links to chelsea and man united atm, arsenal like him but he said “I dream about the Premier League and about Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool. I don’t really care much for Arsenal, though. They do not like winning trophies."
Great video!
Nothing can stop a Bison 🦬
Tottenham want him now . What a progression. Mind boggling really
Love the way you say KFUM lmaoo, KFUM is the norwegian YMCA so it is not K-FUM, it is K.F.U.M
awesome video, i'll look forward to keeping up with him
Thanks,man
He is probably going to Brighton for 20-30 million in the summer or a club like that which is insane for a player that got caught only a little over a year ago now.
Would love to see Gift come to Leicester (my club who’ll probably be in the championship next year) and surpass the legend of Jamie Vardy
In the new season, he's played 4 games and scored 5 goals already. including, of course, a hattrick.
I remember thinking wtf our management was doing getting a stiker from the Norwegian second division. Boy, was I wrong.
Absolutely love your videos... :D
GOD bless this guy its like his playing careeer mode
Dang this is an insane story, what a goalgetter.
Love the Lincoln top, was that a gift from TOM FM?
Great stuff Man!!! Hope he signs for the mentality monsters
i found him in fm23... lol never knew he was this promising. I'll look him up again and give him a chance
This is the man for bayern. This is the man. It just fits.
Bro talk about lazar samardzic his dribbling it is joy to watch just watch napoli vs udinese.
As a Nigerian, I invite viewers of this video to try to imagine how many Gift Orbans have slipped through the cracks in the Black Hole of talent and potential that is Africa. This kid is just lucky to have caught a break, same with Okocha, and in NBA, same with Olajuwon, Giannis, Embiid, all discovered late and fortuitously. Many footballers, basketballers, musicians, poets, artists, doctors, scientists, etc, have slipped through because of the lack of opportunity, lack of development, lack of visibility. God help us.
Giannis was born in Greece tho that is different yes he has Nigerian Origin and Nigerian parents but still.
Nigerians on average tend to be very respectful and professional in soccer and other professions, especailly when it's abroad
Only thing that makes sense
He’s an alien 😅
Wow. Such a great talent.
He does remind me of Moses Simon. Never heard of him? Well, this is gonna happen to him as well, i'm afraid.
Your storey telling is funny 🤣😂😂❤
I hope Brighton never get their hands on him, because the moment they do Chelsea will break the global economy to get him
There’s this kind of talent all over Africa, but they just never get a chance or get lucky like he did.
Players should pay you to advertise them for transfers. I never heard of him before today and now I want my club (Man United) to sign him 😅
Our leaders are so very corrupt that the mantle has been a personal thingy for us Nigerians both home and abroad ……and we never want to lose , never …….we always say the best or nothing
Zealand rocking that Lincoln City shirt, my guy
omg, another hattrick from this hero yesterday...
Great vid dude
The gift that keeps on giving
Just scored another hattrick😂😂
He's coming to tottenham babyy
proud to say we knocked him out of the conference ⚒️🔛🔝
Please i hope liverpool or an Arsenal finds this guy. Good for his development
I discovered him in fm20
He was the only bright spot for gent against West Ham. I went to both legs as a West Ham fan, and he was probably their only dangerous player
